Chapter 957: Death Worms

"Incredible... He infused his Sword Aura into that attack, making it several times more destructive and deadly..."

Long Yuyan appeared genuinely shocked by Yuan’s mastery over Sword Aura and the level of control he possessed over it. Not only that, but the technique he had just used also seemed extremely familiar to her.

"And that technique... isn’t that the Empyreal Severing Sword Strike?! A legendary sword technique said to have originated from the Heavens themselves..."

Even she—the guardian beast of the Earth Immortal Sect, who had lived for an unimaginably long time—knew very little about that technique.

’I’ve already lost count of how long I was sealed inside that pagoda... but even during the glorious era of the Earth Immortal Sect, this technique was only used once by an unknown Sword Master.’ Long Yuyan thought with a serious expression, her eyes locked onto Yuan’s figure.

’Just how in the world did Yuan learn such a legendary technique? Did someone personally pass it down to him? Or did he somehow stumble upon it by coincidence?’ she wondered, a deep frown forming on her face.

’Not only that, he’s barely twenty years old, yet he’s already a Sword Master. And his control over Sword Aura is on a completely different level altogether.’

’Even the greatest prodigies pale in comparison to his monstrous talent... What an absolute monster.’ Long Yuyan swallowed nervously after witnessing Yuan’s heaven-defying talent and terrifying strength.

She couldn’t even begin to imagine how powerful Yuan would become in just a few more years. With talent like his, he would undoubtedly shake the very Heavens themselves.

Just the thought alone sent chills down her spine. In her eyes, Yuan was someone who existed beyond all logic—his very existence simply made no sense to her.

The Undead King appeared visibly shaken after witnessing the destruction caused by a single individual, his mind thrown into complete chaos.

’H-How is it possible for a single man to unleash this much destruction?! Is he even human at this point?!’ he screamed inwardly in utter bewilderment.

After witnessing such overwhelming destruction, he finally realized one undeniable truth—he was fighting a losing battle. There was no longer any hope of victory for him.

’I-Is there truly no way for me to win this war...? I spent countless years building this army... and in the end, it all turned into a disappointment...’

He felt defeated, yet the flames burning within his eye sockets still blazed fiercely. He refused to surrender so easily.

His desire to conquer the entire continent and emerge victorious in this war was so overwhelming that it only strengthened his resolve further.

’After spending years creating such a massive army... I refuse to give up now. I’ll do whatever it takes to win this war...’ he muttered inwardly as the flames within his eyes burned even more intensely.

Then he shifted his attention toward Anna Grace before suddenly letting out a small laugh.

"Don’t think you’ve won this war just because you annihilated my army of dragons... Did you truly believe I came here without preparing countermeasures?" The Undead King laughed coldly, his voice growing heavier and more ominous.

Anna Grace’s eyes narrowed sharply as she carefully studied the Undead King’s body language.

’Does he still have more tricks hidden up his sleeve? Why does it feel like he still has another surprise waiting for us?’ Anna Grace wondered silently, her gaze fixed firmly on him.

"You old bag of bones, what exactly are you babbling about now?" she asked with a curious yet slightly confused expression.

"You’ll find out soon enough..." The Undead King replied coldly.

And the very next moment, a massive wave of energy erupted from his body, releasing a powerful shockwave across the battlefield and drawing everyone’s attention instantly.

"Rise, my undead minions! Lend me your strength and bring me victory in this battle!" The Undead King roared while staring into the sky.

The moment those words left his mouth, the lifeless corpses scattered across the battlefield began to rise once more, their limbs twitching and moving in a horrifying manner as they slowly stood back up.

The entire battlefield fell deathly silent, aside from the distant explosions caused by Yuan as he continued slaughtering undead left and right.

The allied forces stared at their fallen comrades returning to life with grim expressions, their stomachs twisting in disgust and horror.

"W-What exactly am I witnessing right now...?" Emperor Rhex muttered as he staggered backward, his face turning pale at the horrifying sight before him.

"T-This can’t be happening..." Queen Lilith covered her mouth in shock and disbelief.

King Vargan also took several steps backward, his eyes instantly turning cold and ruthless as disbelief filled his expression.

"We expected something like this might happen... but witnessing it with our own eyes is a feeling I can’t even describe..." Emperor Rhex spoke, his voice trembling slightly.

Not just them—even the entire allied army watched the horrifying scene with widened eyes, as though their worst nightmare had suddenly become reality.

The very comrades, friends, and brothers they had once fought beside, shared drinks with, and laughed together with... were now rising as enemies.

Now they were being forced to fight the very people they once considered family. The most unimaginable and cruel situation imaginable was unfolding right before their eyes.

"This is even worse than before... They were our comrades... How are we supposed to fight against them now?" one warrior spoke in a trembling voice filled with pain.

"That vile monster has gone too far with this... How dare that bastard turn our comrades into puppets and force them to fight us?!"

"He must pay for turning our comrades into those disgusting monsters! I’ll never forgive him for this!"

Rage rapidly began building within the hearts of the allied forces as they watched their comrades transform into undead monsters before their very eyes.

Hatred and fury toward the Undead King erupted throughout the battlefield. Unfortunately, none of them possessed the strength needed to actually challenge him.

Hell, most of them couldn’t even stand in his presence without their legs trembling uncontrollably. Before the Undead King, they were utterly powerless.

"There’s more... This is only the beginning!" The Undead King shouted as another terrifying wave of energy exploded from his body.

The very next moment, everyone on the battlefield felt violent tremors ripple beneath the sand, as though something enormous was moving underground.

With every passing second, the vibrations grew stronger, causing the ground beneath their feet to shake violently while strange and eerie noises echoed from deep below the desert.

"What the hell is it this time...?" Emperor Rhex muttered tensely, cold sweat covering his face.

The atmosphere across the battlefield instantly became suffocatingly heavy with tension as fear spread through everyone present.

No one knew what terrifying creatures were moving beneath the sand.

Then suddenly, realization struck Emperor Rhex like a freezing blade across his spine. 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ𝑤𝑒𝑏𝑛𝘰𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝒸𝑜𝘮

His face turned deathly pale as he swallowed nervously, feeling the strength leave his legs as though his own body weight had become unbearable.

"D-Don’t tell me... it’s those cursed monsters moving beneath the sand..." Emperor Rhex muttered in a trembling voice, as though his greatest nightmare had finally come to life.

King Vargan and Queen Lilith immediately became serious, their expressions darkening as they understood exactly what Emperor Rhex meant.

"T-This can’t be... How could the Death Worms possibly be controlled by someone? That’s impossible!" King Vargan exclaimed, his voice filled with disbelief and doubt.
