Chapter 1054: Chapter 1054: Late Star Arc, A Special Scent of Perfume

The wounds on Stella Charlie’s hand had not yet healed, and now that President Dawson’s shoe had crushed them, the pain nearly made her faint.

The hand that was gripping the door frame had to let go, and she was dragged into the private box by President Dawson.

She seemed to hear familiar footsteps by her ear. Was she hallucinating?

"Let her go."

President Dawson heard someone trying to play the hero and save the damsel in distress. Annoyed, he frowned, ready to curse this meddlesome person.

When he looked up and saw it was Vincent Warner, he was so frightened that he immediately released his grip, smiling ingratiatingly: "President Warner? You’re here too?"

Vincent Warner, with a somber expression, silently took off his coat and draped it over Stella Charlie’s overly short dress, then lifted her off the ground, holding her by the waist.

Watching Vincent’s actions, President Dawson, who had been so arrogant earlier, now broke out in a cold sweat from fear.

Vincent did not confront President Dawson directly but instead said to the club manager nearby, "Whether he is molesting and assaulting a young girl or your club is involved in illicit transactions, find a way to explain it clearly to the police later."

"Rest assured, President Warner, we will give you a satisfactory response."

President Dawson understood that Vincent intended to get him imprisoned. If this got blown up and that shrew at home found out, his later life would be anything but peaceful.

He fell to his knees with a "thud" at Vincent’s feet, begging desperately, "President Warner, I know I was wrong. I’ll never dare again. I promise to turn over a new leaf! Please, have mercy this time!"

Vincent did not reply; he merely lifted his foot and pressed hard on President Dawson’s hand.

Amid President Dawson’s screams, Vincent looked down indifferently and said, "Sparing your dog’s life is my greatest mercy."

With that, Vincent carried Stella Charlie away without looking back.

In the elevator, Stella Charlie relaxed slightly, moving her foot to signal Vincent to put her down. 𝕗𝐫𝚎𝗲𝘄𝐞𝕓𝐧𝕠𝘃𝕖𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝚖

Before Vincent could think of how to start, Stella Charlie steadied herself against the elevator wall and softly said, "I knew it was you."

Vincent was taken aback: "...How did you know?"

He couldn’t attend the day her bandages were removed, so Stella Charlie had never seen what he looked like.

She replied, "The scent of your perfume, it’s very distinctive."

Vincent felt as if something soft nudged his heart, a strange feeling but not unpleasant.

The elevator reached the underground parking lot, and Vincent walked out, while Stella Charlie stood in the elevator, staring at him motionlessly.

"What’s wrong?"

"...Thank you for helping me."

Vincent pointed in the direction where he parked: "Let me take you to the hospital to check your hand."

Stella Charlie shook her head in polite refusal: "No need, it’s nothing serious, just a little scratch."

In fact, she had no money on her to afford a hospital visit.

The man in front of her seemed not to lack money, but she didn’t want to accept anyone’s help without reason.

The elevator doors quickly closed automatically, and Vincent reached out to block the doors, then promptly pulled Stella Charlie out: "Do you still want to go back? Do you know what kind of place it is? Aren’t you afraid of running into people like that again?"

Stella Charlie lowered her head in silence. She certainly wouldn’t go back to continue that job, but she also didn’t know where else she could go at the moment.

"Did you work here before?" Vincent asked.

Stella Charlie was momentarily stunned, then shook her head.

"Then why did you suddenly start doing this kind of job?"

Stella Charlie answered realistically, "To make money."

"Doesn’t your family give you any money?"

Mentioning her family brought back a wave of bitterness in Stella Charlie’s heart, but in front of others, she pretended to be lighthearted and said, "They moved away and didn’t plan to take me with them."
