Chapter 902: Chapter 902: Engagement...

It’s been almost a month; for nearly a month, she hasn’t received any news related to Mark.

Arnold was also once an outstanding special forces soldier and had participated in various dangerous missions with Mark a lot of times.

Therefore, Arnold understands well that during missions, he can’t just contact people randomly.

But understanding doesn’t alleviate hope, and Arnold still wishes Mark could spare some time to contact her.

Even if she could only hear his voice... No, even if she couldn’t hear his voice, just a text would be enough to let her know he’s doing well and is safe!

But there’s nothing, nothing at all.

The lack of news from Mark has made Arnold increasingly worried about Mark’s safety, in addition to her anxiety over the upcoming engagement...

Arnold sat on her bed, looked troubled and worried, hugging her teddy bear and whimpered, "Zi Xi, didn’t you say you’d come back and marry me after I waited for you patiently?"

"But I have waited so long now; why haven’t you returned? Do you even know that if you don’t come back soon, I’ll have to get engaged to Ethan Sterling?"

Somehow, these few days, Arnold’s heart has been especially anxious and uneasy.

Furthermore, each time this anxiety and unease arises, Arnold always has a feeling that something bad has happened to Mark.

But every time this feeling arises, Arnold quickly dismisses it.

Arnold steadfastly tells herself that her anxiety and unease are solely due to the upcoming engagement party, at most just worries; certainly, Mark is safe!

Because her leader is so powerful that a mere murderer couldn’t possibly harm the hero she adores, her invincible leader!

Now sitting cross-legged on the bed, holding the teddy bear, Arnold feels that intense anxiety and unease rising within her, which she cannot ignore...

Arnold looked at the teddy bear in her arms and couldn’t help but ask, "Aimee, do you think he’s safe and won’t encounter any problems?"

As soon as she finished asking, Arnold quickly contradicted herself, "No way, Zi Xi is so powerful; he’ll definitely be fine!"

After insisting, Arnold again frowned, perplexed and anxious, whispering, "But Aimee, why hasn’t he returned by now? Is that person called Wilmer really that troublesome?"

Suddenly shaking her head, Arnold looked at the teddy bear in her arms and said, "Aimee, am I going crazy? Why do I keep thinking about so many random things lately?"

Getting no response from the teddy bear and unable to expect any reply, Arnold started to mutter to herself again after making the remark.

"The upcoming engagement party must have driven me to this point; otherwise, how could I be this neurotic, restless, and uneasy?"

"The day after tomorrow is my engagement with Ethan; I wonder if Zi Xi can make it back by then? Dad is so stubborn here, and I can’t reason with Ethan over there..."

Upon a brilliant idea, Arnold’s eyes gleamed with mischief and brightness, "Aimee, what do you think? Should I sneak off now and go to G City to find Zi Xi?"

Speaking so, Arnold suddenly straightened her back.

The black, mischievous eyes gleamed even brighter, and the exquisite, ingeniously crafted little face suddenly showed a very self-satisfied smile, "If I did that, wouldn’t the engagement party be unable to proceed?"

Without any hesitation, Arnold immediately confirmed aloud, "Yes, that’s what I’ll do!"

With that, Arnold turned over and was about to pack her luggage.

But just after her feet barely touched the ground without taking a step forward, Arnold abruptly stopped, and even that very self-satisfied smile on her face froze synchronously.

The reason was nothing other than Arnold recalling Sebastian Moore’s stern face and his eyes imposing and sharp.

"If I leave just like that, Elder Moore would surely kill me, right? The key issue isn’t about getting killed; my mom and grandparents would surely protect me, and Elder Moore couldn’t bear to do it."

"But given Elder Moore’s character, wouldn’t he develop even more prejudice against Zi Xi, increasingly unwilling to accept him? What if Zi Xi returns then, how would we get married?"

The glint in Arnold’s mischievous eyes quickly dimmed.

She fell back onto the bed, hugging her teddy bear in defeat and confusion, asking aloud, "Aimee, what should I do, do you think?"

After saying this, Arnold hugged her teddy bear Aimee, tossing and turning on the large bed, rolling one, then another circle.

After who knows how many rolls, Arnold finally compromised and opened her mouth in resignation, "Fine, let it be an engagement, it’s not like it’s a marriage!"

As long as it’s not a marriage, she and Zi Xi will still have a chance.

When Zi Xi returns, surely, there’ll be a way, right?

For now, it’s just temporary compromise, to avoid greater aversion towards Zi Xi from Elder Moore and for the sake of Elder Moore’s reputation.

Engagement doesn’t equate to marriage; before the marriage, she and Zi Xi will surely find a way to settle everything!

All in all, except Zi Xi, she wouldn’t possibly marry anyone else!

In a blink of an eye, two days passed, and today finally arrives at Arnold and Ethan Sterling’s engagement day.

Just on this very day, Silas and the others, who have been searching for Mark for a whole week, finally found Mark in a small fishing village far from where he got into trouble...

A week ago, after receiving Wilmer’s distress call, Mark extended a helping hand to Wilmer.

Mark decided to help Wilmer because of his continual sense of mission and belief.

He will save anyone, including a notorious criminal.

Because life is worthy of respect and reverence, even criminals deserve it.

And the crimes they have committed will naturally be subjected to due legal sanctions.

Mark merely didn’t expect Wilmer to be so reckless, just to kill him.

Mark’s gloomy eyes looked at Wilmer, who grinned and said he would make Mark die by his hand, as he spoke coldly and calmly, "Really? Are you sure I’m going to die?"

Wilmer laughed, tightly grabbing Mark, "You are bound to die, accompanying me to hell!"

"Heh!" Mark sneered, forcefully swinging his fist, and gave Wilmer a hard punch on the face, "You really are a thorough lunatic!"
