Chapter 873: Chapter 873: I Will Carry You Out of Here...

Being hung on a tree for three days, and on the fourth day encountering Mark, who fiercely scolded her, and then being bitten by a venomous snake, Alice Sutton ranked just below Mark.

Although Arnold was the least injured, her arm was also brutally bitten by a hungry wolf, and later, she sustained several scars from repeated battles with various beasts.

Now in the fierce wind, under the relentless downpour, Arnold was dizzy and found every step difficult.

Indeed, Arnold had also developed a fever.

The wound on Arnold’s arm that had been bitten by the wolf became inflamed and showed signs of fever symptoms late last night.

However, Arnold carefully hid it from Mark.

Arnold thought that her eyes had temporarily regained sight, and she wouldn’t hinder Mark’s progress. As long as they sped up, they could quickly exit the forest.

But perhaps fate was deliberately tormenting them.

In their group of three, with two having fevers and one poisoned by a snake, they encountered a fierce tiger foraging for food.

Driven by a strong will to survive and working together, the three managed to kill the tiger, but they were already at their breaking point, barely clinging to life.

Yet as if that wasn’t enough, as Arnold struggled to carry Mark on her back to leave, a fierce storm kicked up, pouring rain upon them...

"God, are you playing games with us? Did you ever truly intend for us to leave this forest? Or are you trying to crush our spirit?" Arnold looked up, questioning loudly at the pitch-black sky.

"But what can I do? I might end up disappointing you." Arnold stared into the darkness, her temporarily restored vision full of defiance.

She ignored the rain pelting her face and body, stubbornly and firmly saying, "Play your games if you must, but as long as I breathe, you can’t crush my spirit. I will never give up!"

After saying this, Arnold turned to look at Mark, unconscious on her back, "Boss, I won’t give up, and you mustn’t either!"

Arnold refused to give up.

Yet, lacking strength, she fell heavily to the ground after just a few steps.

Because of the harsh fall, her entire body was sprawled in the rainwater, and her vision went black, almost fainting.

"Arnold, you can’t faint. You need to get the boss out of here!" Arnold whispered with determination, taking a moment until the discomfort faded from her eyes before slowly and forcefully standing up from the ground.

With an unyielding smile, she moved forward, step by step, determinedly.

And Mark, unconscious, remained firmly on Arnold’s slender back, even as she stumbled and fell...

As Arnold and Mark’s backs disappeared into the distance, Alice Sutton, lying in the rainwater, laughed grimly and fiercely.

After fighting, enduring, and plotting for so long, was death inevitable?

But heaven wasn’t entirely unfair; if he was to die, then Laurant Foster and that kid wouldn’t survive either!

Though he was barely clinging to life, his breathing now shallow, he could depart this world any time.

But he would hold on, even to the last breath.

He wanted to see Laurant Foster and that kid die before him, only then would he rest in peace!

With vicious and venomous eyes, Alice Sutton watched Arnold repeatedly fall to the ground ahead.

Each time she fell, Arnold had to pause before mustering all her strength to stand up with Mark on her back again.

After unknown falls, Arnold eventually couldn’t stand anymore.

Utterly exhausted, she couldn’t rise from the ground despite her efforts.

Yet even then, Arnold refused to surrender or abandon hope.

"Boss, rest assured, I’ll get up, and I will take you out of here!" Arnold whispered with determination, repeatedly struggling to get up from the ground.

"Haha..." Alice Sutton laughed decisively, "Die, all of you die, accompany me in death here!"

In Alice Sutton’s resolute laughter, Arnold, struggling to rise, relied on her perseverance and stubbornness, standing up once more.

Watching Arnold shakily get back up, stumbling and carrying Mark forward, Alice Sutton shouted in disbelief, "Impossible, how could it be!"

He shouted enticingly at their distant backs, "Kid, give up, you can’t possibly carry Laurant Foster out of here alive!"

Arnold ignored him, smiled, and stepped forward, resolutely, though staggering step by step...

Meanwhile, Sebastian Moore and Silas were rapidly traversing through the forest.

It had been five full days since Mark and Arnold had fallen into this forest, and even Sebastian had spent a day and a night here.

For Sebastian, that day and night were undoubtedly torturous.

In their search, they found more and more signs of Mark and Arnold’s past presence.

Yet seeing these signs without finding Mark and Arnold made Sebastian extremely anxious and fearful.

Sebastian was scared, afraid that he’d arrived a moment too late, forever just a moment too late.

As the storm raged, Sebastian didn’t stop but wore a stern, icy face, authoritatively commanding, "Hasten your steps, we must find them quickly!"

Every soldier searching shared Sebastian’s anxiety.

For they were looking for the leader they most respected, their comrade in arms.

Five days had passed; they didn’t know how much longer their leader and Louise could hold on.

But they knew that every second they sped up increased the chance of their leader and Louise’s survival.

Finally, through everyone’s rapid advance in the rain, they found their leader and the injured Louise.

When Sebastian and Silas found Mark and Arnold, Arnold had already carried Mark about a hundred meters.

In that hundred meters, Arnold didn’t know how many times she had fallen while carrying Mark.

And when Sebastian and Silas reached Mark, Arnold lay powerless in the rain, lacking even the strength to struggle to her feet.

She lay there, despairing, whispering, "Why can’t I stand up? I need to carry you out of here!"

Arnold angrily pounded the rain-soaked ground, her eyes once again filled with determination, "I can do it, as long as I live, I can surely take you out!"
