Chapter 1075: Another one Gone
Chapter 1075
It felt like the whole world froze for Mada for a second as he stared at his brother, whose mouth was filled with blood but who was still trying to smile through the pain.
In irritation, Jim withdrew his claws from the warrior’s body, allowing Gunther to fall heavily to his knees.
Mada knelt beside him, his eyes moist with glistening tears as he looked at the gaping wound in his brother’s abdomen.
"Wh-Why? Come on, damn it! You too?!" Mada shouted immediately as tears began falling down his face.
Gunther forced out a smile as he coughed a mouthful of blood into the air, the same fluid he had been trying so hard to resist expelling.
"I-I wanted you to live on. Father is gone. I want you to take the Waterfall Clan to new heights... besides, how could I stand back and watch my brother die?"
"Yo-You shouldn’t have."
Jim rolled his eyes dramatically.
"Oh, the drama."
Gunther smiled weakly, touching his stained torso before lifting his hand.
"This is nothing. What matters is that you are safe, and I hope you remain so, otherwise I will beat your ass in the afterlife."
Coughing once more, he smirked faintly.
"An-And when you get back home, tel-tell Sera that I wasn’t oblivious to her advances and feelings. I just wanted to complete my tasks, including this, to get back to her and confess. But I guess I can’t, huh? Kuk... cough..."
Tears streamed down Mada’s face in waves as he reached out to touch Gunther, only for the warrior’s breath to hitch abruptly.
A thin line suddenly appeared around his neck, and the next second, his head went flying into the air.
"GUNTHER!" Mada screamed in dread as he watched his brother’s head fly across the battlefield.
"Tch. Stupid melodrama," Zodiac One uttered, swinging his hands around to clear the blood from his claws while Gunther’s lifeless body crashed into the ground with a loud thud.
Mada was horrified, completely unable to react in shock at what had just happened.
His mind kept replaying the memories he had shared with Gunther.
"Don’t worry, I will reunite you with your family," Jim’s voice slithered into Mada’s ears from behind.
The young warrior was too stunned to move an inch.
The smile on the demon’s face suddenly froze, then wiped clean off as a heavy metal hammer crashed into his countenance with the force of a speeding train.
The demon was lifted off his feet and sent ricocheting across the terrain with immense force.
Amir could be seen panting heavily as he stood in front of a stunned Mada, and in his hand, he held a colossal metallic hammer.
Thalos appeared before the demon, pinkish liquid dribbling from his mouth, but he didn’t care.
His sword cut through the air from above, but Jim had already moved before the blade struck him, so it just ripped through the ground and nothing else.
A cloud of dust was kicked up as Jim regained his footing, only for Greg to appear before him with a lightning punch aimed toward his face.
His hand was roughly seized the next moment.
The Zodiac’s foot shot forward with blazing speed, but a sinkhole suddenly appeared in the path of his advance, trapping his leg inside the opening.
He was momentarily halted and confused, only to see Viktor with his hands outstretched.
With a sharp closing motion of his hand, Viktor forced the sinkhole to snap shut with enough force to sever the trapped limb.
Black fluid spilled into the air as the demon staggered backward, a stunned expression crossing his face as he was left balancing on a single foot.
Thalos bolted forward, executing a sweeping kick that lifted the demon off his remaining footing and sent him hurtling downward.
Before the creature could recover, the gargoyle’s foot crashed down from above in a descending heel kick, smashing the demon directly into the dirt and kicking up a heavy blanket of dust into the air immediately.
The entire area trembled from the sheer force of the impact.
Fearing a rapid counterattack, Thalos bound backward instantly, landing a few meters away to reset his stance.
The dust was dispelled in an instant as Jim rose from the crater he had been driven into.
He staggered slightly, trying to balance himself on his remaining leg while a dark trail trickled down his snout.
He glared forward with a furious, burning glow.
The others weren’t about to let this hard-earned opening pass them by.
Kira darted forward, sending a crackling beam of lightning toward the demon, who looked entirely unfazed by the incoming energy.
He merely shifted his weight and appeared directly beside her, evading the path of the blast.
Scarlet launched forward with a blazing double kick that sent fireballs bursting outward, but the Zodiac crouched low under the assault before swinging his hand to strike back.
Kira quickly grabbed the girl and bolted backward just in time to avoid the counter.
Thalos lunged forward once more.
Within a single breath, he closed the distance with a powerful swing of his greatsword.
Jim met his advance with a stoic look.
The next second, the stump where the demon’s leg had been severed surged, and a regenerated limb burst forth, smashing directly into Thalos’s torso with immense force.
The gargoyle paused for a fraction of a second as the impact registerd.
His greatsword slipped from his hands as fractures deepened across his form, followed by a delayed shockwave that caused the terrain to buckle immediately, sending the gargoyle blasting away fiercely across the field.
In his place, Amir arrived, swinging his colossal hammer toward the demon.
However, instead of blocking or dodging, Jim met the attack head-on, his claws ripping straight through the metallic weapon.
Moving in a blur of overwhelming speed, Jim closed the remaining distance instantly, overpowering Amir before sliding behind the falling commander.
"CAPTAIN!" Scarlet and all of Grey’s allies screamed in pure, undiluted shock as the frontline fell into complete chaos, the demon standing over the fallen leader with absolute indifference to the damage he had caused.
