Chapter 2552: Chapter 2552: Duel

"Be careful, the opponent is very formidable!"

The bearded Deputy Battalion Leader had risen to leadership in this mighty organization not only due to his own skills but also because of his years of following Silvio Reed.

Experienced in storms and waves, having carried out many tasks with Julius Reed, the bearded deputy had ample experience in dealing with unexpected situations.

Years ago, when Silvio Reed was cleaning toilets at Demarco Mount, it was these men who actually did the work.

Although the bearded man was only the Deputy Battalion Leader, the nature of the Vanguard Battalion was special; the battalion leader did not carry out specific tasks but was responsible for training and personnel deployment.

The one truly in charge of leading tasks was the Deputy Battalion Leader.

The bearded man was named George Moore, and he had perfectly executed dozens of tasks.

This time, what seemed to be the simplest task turned complicated, something none could have anticipated.

"I’ve lost an arm—begin the breakout immediately. If you can find and kill the opponent, great; if not, kill that woman directly! At the very least, someone needs to get out alive and report to Lord Lee Four!"

George Moore shouted loudly.

Even though his mouth was filled with sand, George Moore had no time to worry.

With one good arm, he pulled out a knife and wielded it single-handedly, slashing forward!

Crack!

Several skeletons barely had a chance to approach before being shattered by the slash!

George Moore’s wrist shook, releasing spiritual power!

The yellow sand around the blade instantly scattered.

But it quickly resumed.

This fleeting moment was already enough for George Moore.

He saw what lay before him!

It was a multitude of white bones, skeletons everywhere!

"Careful, this place is too eerie! Our opponent is skeletons! Break through quickly and eliminate that woman!"

Disregarding his bleeding arm, George Moore threw the blade forward, then quickly followed in pursuit!

The blade seemed empowered, slicing through the skeletons effortlessly wherever it went!

The blade swiftly carved a path.

George Moore dashed behind the blade, continuously running!

Seeing their deputy leader injured and facing skeletons, the companions shed arrogance and levity.

Each one was on high alert!

Just as George Moore was about to escape the sandstorm.

Marcellus Lopez appeared out of nowhere.

He grabbed the blade with one hand and swiftly swung it forward!

With spiritual power, the blade aimed directly at George Moore’s neck!

Sensing danger, George Moore leaned back to save his head, but a large chunk of his scalp was sliced off!

The opponent was right in front!

"I’ll hold him; you take out the target!" George Moore shook his wrist, and a soft sword dropped from his sleeve.

He roared, "The Vanguard Battalion can be wiped out, but the mission must be completed!"

"Understood!"

Those remaining in the sandstorm began sprinting madly in one direction!

Bam!

Yet the first person sprinting forward was knocked back.

He was covered in blood!

His body, directly impacted by the skeletons!

Although many skeletons collapsed, these things seemed endless, reappearing quickly.

And the bones are extremely sharp.

Unprepared, the Vanguard Battalion members collided with them, leading to profuse bleeding.

But those behind hesitated not a bit, fiercely wielding weapons to topple the skeletons ahead and break out!

Boom!

Layers of skeleton collapse!

They are elites!

Elite among thousands!

As George Moore entangled Marcellus Lopez with his life, finally someone broke free!

The rest remained trapped by the skeletons!

As the space squeezed smaller, they were ultimately pierced to death!

"You vile woman, today you must die!" The blood-drenched, gaunt youth, eyes filled with immense hatred, shouted!

"Die!"

He lunged forward!

With tremendous speed!

Merrill Caldwell stood at the door, not dodging.

Suddenly, a sword flew from the side!

Crashing against his weapon with force!

"Do you remember me? Jovany Leopold, the one you trapped in the cave." Jovany Leopold gripped his longsword, chuckling lightly, "I’ve long desired revenge! There’s no good in your Ten Thousand Mountain Alliance!"

Just as he finished speaking, he vanished!

When he reappeared, his longsword aimed at the gaunt man’s throat!

Clang!

The swords clashed brilliantly, neither backing down, attacking again!

It’s a contest of speed!

It’s a contest of who’s more ruthless!

Thud!

Both swords pierced through each other’s bodies.

Drip.

Blood slowly dripped.

The yellow sand began to disperse.

Marcellus Lopez departed, having completed his agreement with Julius Reed; naturally, he wouldn’t remain at Boulevard Mountain.

After the sand passed, only torn clothes and broken weapons remained on the ground.

No bodies.

Because their flesh was scattered by the wind.

Their skeletons had become Marcellus Lopez’s minions.

He despised the Ten Thousand Mountain Alliance and anyone tied to Silvio Reed.

"Now the only ones left to fight are us two." Jovany Leopold spoke calmly, "If I die, no one can stop you from killing her. If you die, your mission fails."

"Fighting an ancient martial artist, regardless of outcome, isn’t a pleasant matter." The gaunt man stepped back, gazing at his bleeding wound, stunned, "An inch longer, an inch stronger."

Finishing his words, he collapsed to the ground, slowly closing his eyes.

Dead.

And Jovany Leopold also fell into a chair.

"Silvio Reed’s subordinates are indeed this powerful!"

He glanced at the fallen body and shook his head.

Fortunately, during the battle amid the sandstorm, the gaunt man’s sword had cracked.

Jovany Leopold’s initial strike had knocked the opponent’s sword tip away.

Otherwise, the duel’s outcome might have differed drastically.

"Silvio Reed’s strength is terrifically terrifying."

Jovany Leopold pulled out some hemostatic medicine, applied it to his wound, grimaced, "You ought to inform Julius Reed, let him prepare."

"Hmm." Merrill Caldwell, undisturbed, showed no fear.

"Fetch some hot water, help Mr. Leopold clean his wounds, also bring two sets of clothes."

She instructed her servants nearby.

It seemed as if she’d experienced nothing.

Composed.

Very natural.

This astonished Jovany Leopold.

Even he, after engaging in swordplay, felt somewhat perturbed.

These were Silvio Reed’s elites!

Once they act, someone surely dies in the Vanguard Battalion!

Is this girl fearless?

Doesn’t she worry that Silvio Reed might enact further plans? 𝚏𝐫𝚎𝗲𝕨𝐞𝐛𝕟𝚘𝐯𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝗺

The Vanguard Battalion members are unlikely to let this rest!

"Cold girl, aren’t you afraid? Had I died during the duel, you’d be next." Jovany Leopold spoke.

"But you didn’t die, right?" Merrill Caldwell laughed softly, spoke very calmly, "There’s no need to dwell on past events. What I need now is to handle upcoming affairs, and tend to your wound. Thinking about what hasn’t happened, how does it help?"
