Chapter 58: A New Target Appears

After the match ended, a friend request immediately popped up on Lucas’s screen.

He raised an eyebrow.

The request came from the female streamer.

Before Lucas could react, Max suddenly grabbed his arm.

"Accept it!"

Ben and Luke nodded like chickens pecking rice.

"Quick!"

"Don’t let her cancel it!"

Lucas looked at the three idiots and couldn’t help laughing.

The moment he accepted the request, Daisy’s voice sounded through the team chat.

"Finally."

"I thought you were going to ignore me."

Lucas chuckled.

"I was considering it."

"Hmph."

Daisy snorted playfully.

"You just stole the spotlight from everyone in the lobby and now you’re acting cool?"

The moment she said that, Max, Ben, and Luke immediately felt embarrassed.

Thinking back to their performance during the match, they wished they could find a hole and crawl into it.

Meanwhile, Lucas looked at the three of them and laughed.

"What happened?"

"Aren’t you guys trying to impress the streamer?"

Max immediately waved his hand.

"Nope."

"I’m retiring."

Ben nodded seriously.

"Same."

"I’ve decided to focus on my studies."

Luke sighed dramatically.

"Some people are born to carry."

"Others are born to be carried."

The room instantly erupted with laughter.

Since the three of them had given up playing, Lucas ended up staying in the team with Daisy.

After another victory, Lucas suddenly noticed something.

"Wait."

"You’re streaming right now, aren’t you?"

Daisy sounded surprised.

"How did you know?"

Lucas laughed.

"Because I keep hearing you say things like ’chat’ and ’guys.’"

"That’s streamer language."

Daisy giggled.

"Fine, you caught me."

"Yes, I’m live."

Lucas nodded.

"So you’re a gaming streamer."

"Then you must be pretty good."

The moment he said that, Daisy nearly choked.

"Me?"

"Good?"

"Are you joking?"

"I just watched you wipe an entire squad by yourself."

"That final 1v4 was insane."

"Seriously, where did you learn to play like that?"

Lucas leaned back comfortably against his chair.

"I’ve been playing for years."

"Just took a long break."

Daisy clearly didn’t believe him.

A player who casually destroyed Legendary lobbies wasn’t someone who simply "played for years."

But she didn’t press the issue.

The two continued chatting while preparing for another match.

The atmosphere gradually became much more relaxed.

A few minutes later, Lucas glanced at the time.

It was already getting late.

He had no intention of gaming till night.

"This is probably my last match."

Daisy sounded disappointed.

"Already?"

Lucas smiled.

"I actually have a life outside Call of Duty."

"Hah."

"Must be nice."

After another easy victory, Lucas finally prepared to log off.

Before leaving, he asked casually,

"By the way, what’s your streamer name?"

"If I’m free, I’ll check out your stream."

Daisy sounded pleased.

"My name is Daisy."

"Pretty easy to remember."

Lucas nodded.

"I’ll take a look sometime."

Then he asked,

"When are you streaming again?"

Daisy laughed.

"Again?"

"I’m streaming right now."

"And I’ll probably keep streaming until midnight."

Lucas was slightly surprised.

"That long?"

Daisy sighed dramatically.

"Streamers don’t get paid for sleeping."

Lucas laughed.

"Fair enough."

"I’ll stop by and watch later."

Immediately, Daisy seized the opportunity.

"Good."

"And make sure you send some gifts when you come."

Her tone was playful.

Obviously, she wasn’t taking it seriously.

After all, most viewers who said things like that never actually spent money.

But Lucas simply replied calmly.

"Sure."

"I’ll send some."

For some reason, hearing how casually he said it made Daisy pause for a moment.

Before she could think further, she quickly said,

"Wait."

"Give me your Discord."

Lucas raised an eyebrow.

"What for?"

"So I can remind you when I’m streaming."

"And maybe we can squad up later."

After a brief pause, she added,

"Besides..."

"A carry like you is hard to find."

A smile appeared on Lucas’s face.

When a woman took the initiative to ask for his contact information, Lucas naturally had no reason to refuse.

He casually copied his Discord ID and sent it over.

Less than ten seconds later, a friend request popped up.

Daisy has sent you a friend request.

Lucas accepted it without hesitation.

The moment Max, Ben, and Luke saw this, their expressions immediately changed.

"Fuck!"

"She actually added you?"

Max looked like his worldview had collapsed.

Ben covered his chest dramatically.

"I’ve been gaming for three years."

"Not a single female streamer has ever added me."

Luke looked at Lucas with envy.

"Bro."

"From today onward, you’re our master."

"You have to teach us."

"How do you carry girls and make them add you afterward?"

The dorm instantly burst into laughter.

For young men their age, gaming skill was practically another form of social currency.

A man who couldn’t carry his teammates would never become the center of attention.

And if a girl was involved?

The importance instantly doubled.

Thinking back to what had happened earlier, Lucas couldn’t help smiling.

If he hadn’t stepped up during that final match, Max and the others would’ve been completely embarrassed in front of the streamer.

A few moments later, a message arrived from Daisy.

"Lucas, if you want to play later, message me first."

"We can queue together."

A smile appeared on Lucas’s face.

It was obvious that Daisy genuinely wanted to play with him again.

After all, skilled players were always popular.

Especially players capable of carrying an entire squad on Rebirth Island.

Earlier, after Lucas had wiped multiple teams and secured the victory, the atmosphere in Daisy’s stream had exploded.

The comments had flooded the screen.

Many viewers had even started following her account because of that match.

Her viewer count had increased noticeably.

Naturally, she wasn’t about to let such a strong teammate disappear.

Lucas replied casually.

"Sure."

"I’ll let you know."

A few more messages were exchanged before the conversation finally ended.

Afterward, Lucas logged out of the game.

The moment he removed his headphones, he noticed all three roommates staring at him.

Nobody said anything.

They just stared.

Lucas felt uncomfortable.

"What?"

Max pointed at his phone.

"The streamer."

Ben nodded.

"She told you her real name."

Luke looked shocked.

"And she added you first."

For a moment, the dorm became strangely quiet.

Then all three spoke at the same time.

"Damn."

Lucas rolled his eyes.

"Get lost."

The three immediately burst into laughter.

After spending another half hour chatting and joking with his roommates, Lucas finally stood up.

"I’m heading out."

Max looked confused.

"Out?"

"It’s already evening."

"Aren’t you sleeping here tonight?"

Lucas grabbed his jacket.

"No."

"I’ve got somewhere else to stay."

Ben asked curiously.

"Where?"

Lucas answered casually.

"Fingal Hotel."

The room instantly fell silent.

Then all three jumped up simultaneously.

"THE FINGAL HOTEL?!"

"You’re staying there?"

"Every night?"

Lucas nodded.

The three of them looked at each other.

That was one of the most luxurious hotels in Silvermont.

Even staying there for a single night wasn’t cheap.

Yet Lucas was speaking about it as casually as if he were staying in a student hostel.

The more they learned about him recently, the less they understood him.

It felt like he had become a completely different person.

Lucas simply laughed at their expressions.

"See you guys tomorrow."

Without waiting for a response, he left the dormitory.

Meanwhile, the three roommates remained standing there in silence.

Several seconds later, Max finally spoke.

"...Do you guys feel like Lucas is becoming ridiculously rich?"

Ben nodded.

"Terrifyingly rich."

Luke looked toward the door Lucas had just exited.

The Lucas they knew before...

Was completely gone.

Meanwhile, Lucas was already on his way back to Fingal Hotel.

Night had fallen over Silvermont.

Neon lights illuminated the streets.

After returning to his suite, Lucas threw himself onto the soft sofa and stretched comfortably.

He remembered something.

Daisy.

Earlier, she had mentioned that she would be streaming until late at night.

Curious, Lucas picked up his phone.

After opening Tiktok Live and searching her name, he quickly found her channel.

To his surprise

She was still live.

A faint smile appeared on Lucas’s face.

Then he tapped the stream and entered the room.
