Chapter 56: Who’s Expelling Who?
Malcolm was already feeling nervous long before Lucas spoke.
Although he had agreed to hear Lucas’s conditions, he still couldn’t relax.
In his mind, five billion dollars was simply too much money.
If Lucas suddenly made some outrageous demand, how would he handle it?
For a moment, even Malcolm felt pressure.
The room became unusually quiet.
Theresa sat beside them, equally curious about what Lucas wanted.
Meanwhile, Lucas remained completely calm.
He leaned slightly forward and looked directly at Malcolm.
"My first condition is simple."
"I want Kai Vayne expelled from this school."
The moment those words fell, Malcolm secretly breathed a sigh of relief.
Compared to what he had imagined, this request was practically harmless.
After all, the entire incident had started because of Kai.
If Kai hadn’t provoked Lucas, none of this would have happened.
Besides, compared to five billion dollars, the annual donations from the Vayne Family were insignificant.
Malcolm nodded immediately.
"No problem."
"I agree."
Seeing Malcolm accept so quickly, Lucas continued.
"As for my second condition..."
His gaze shifted toward Theresa.
Theresa froze.
She suddenly had a strange feeling.
Lucas smiled faintly.
"I want Director Felix removed from his position."
"And I want Counselor Theresa Frost to replace him."
The office instantly fell silent.
Theresa’s beautiful eyes widened.
She stared at Lucas in disbelief.
Even Malcolm was caught completely off guard.
Of all the requests he had imagined, this wasn’t one of them.
He looked between Lucas and Theresa.
For a moment, he couldn’t understand why Lucas was making such a request.
Was it because Felix had insisted on expelling him?
Was it because Theresa had spoken up for him?
Or was it simply Lucas repaying kindness with kindness?
No matter the reason, the request itself wasn’t difficult.
Compared to five billion dollars, replacing a department director was nothing.
After only a few seconds of consideration, Malcolm nodded again.
"Done."
"I agree to that as well."
Theresa finally reacted.
"Principal Malcolm, this..."
Before she could finish speaking, Malcolm raised his hand.
His expression was unusually decisive.
"Counselor Frost, there’s no need to say anything."
"The school will make the necessary arrangements."
Although Theresa was still shocked, she wisely remained silent.
At that moment, Malcolm picked up the telephone on his desk.
His actions were swift.
He personally contacted the Human Resources Department.
The first order was Kai Vayne’s immediate expulsion.
The second order was Director Felix’s removal from office.
The third order was the promotion of Theresa Frost.
The entire process took less than ten minutes.
After ending the final call, Malcolm finally placed the receiver down.
A smile immediately appeared on his face.
He looked at Lucas almost like he was looking at a walking treasure chest.
"The conditions have been fulfilled."
"The deal is done."
Lucas nodded.
Without another word, he casually pulled out his phone.
Seeing this, Malcolm’s heartbeat immediately accelerated.
Five billion dollars.
Even for someone in his position, this amount was enough to make him excited.
He quickly provided the school’s donation account.
His voice was noticeably more polite than before.
Lucas entered the information calmly.
His fingers moved across the screen.
The atmosphere inside the office became tense.
Theresa unconsciously held her breath.
Malcolm stared fixedly at Lucas’s phone.
A few seconds later—
Lucas pressed Confirm.
Just like that.
As if he had merely transferred a few dollars.
Ding.
Malcolm’s phone vibrated.
The notification appeared.
The moment he saw the incoming amount, his entire body froze.
Five billion dollars.
Successfully received.
For a brief moment, Malcolm even wondered if he was dreaming.
His hands trembled slightly as he stared at the account balance.
This was the largest donation in the school’s entire history.
Not only that.
It was several times larger than all previous donations combined.
Yet the young man sitting across from him had completed the transfer with a calm expression from beginning to end.
There wasn’t even the slightest sign of pain on his face.
It was as though five billion dollars meant nothing to him.
At that moment, Malcolm looked at Lucas with completely different eyes.
Then Malcolm assured Lucas that everything would be handled immediately.
With a five-billion-dollar donation already sitting in the school’s account, there was no way he would allow anything to go wrong now.
As long as Lucas was satisfied, Malcolm was willing to personally oversee every step.
Meanwhile, on the other side of campus, Director Felix was sitting in his office when his phone suddenly vibrated.
At first, he paid little attention to it.
However, when he opened the notification from the Human Resources Department, the color instantly drained from his face.
His eyes widened.
For several long seconds, he simply stared at the screen.
Termination Notice.
Effective Immediately.
Director Felix felt as if a bolt of lightning had struck him.
"What the hell?"
He shot to his feet.
The chair behind him crashed to the floor.
His hands trembled as he reread the message again and again.
There had to be some mistake.
There had to be.
Just this morning, everything had been normal.
How could he suddenly be fired?
His mind raced through countless possibilities.
Had he offended someone powerful?
Had he made a serious mistake?
Then suddenly—
A figure appeared in his mind.
Lucas.
Director Felix’s pupils contracted.
"No way..."
A cold chill ran down his spine.
Could it really be because of him?
At almost the same time, another storm was erupting elsewhere.
Kai Vayne had just received the official expulsion notice from the university.
The moment he saw it, he nearly crushed his phone.
"What?!"
His furious roar echoed through the room.
Expelled?
Him?
Kai Vayne?
For a moment, he genuinely thought someone was playing a joke on him.
His family donated tens of millions of dollars to the university every year.
His father was one of the institution’s largest benefactors.
Who would dare expel him?
Who had the authority?
The more Kai thought about it, the angrier he became.
His face twisted with rage.
Without hesitation, he immediately called his father.
Inside the luxurious executive office of Evercrest Group, Sebastian Vayne was reviewing documents when his phone rang.
The moment he heard his son’s furious explanation, his expression darkened.
A terrifying pressure filled the room.
The executives nearby instinctively lowered their heads.
Nobody dared speak.
"Expelled?"
Sebastian’s voice became ice-cold.
"Who made that decision?"
A few minutes later, he ended the call and immediately dialed Malcolm’s number.
The call connected almost instantly.
Before Malcolm could even speak, Sebastian’s furious voice exploded through the receiver.
"Malcolm!"
"I heard somebody at your university has decided to expel my son!"
"Which idiot gave such an order?"
Hearing the aggressive tone, Malcolm’s expression immediately darkened.
Before today, he might have tolerated it.
But now?
Things were different.
Malcolm leaned comfortably against his chair.
His voice was calm.
"Mr. Vayne, watch your language."
"The decision was made by the university."
"And more importantly, by me."
Sebastian was stunned.
For a second, he thought he had heard wrong.
Malcolm had never spoken to him this way before.
Before he could react, Malcolm continued.
"Your son has repeatedly violated school regulations."
"He bullies other students."
"He ignores teachers."
"He abuses his position and influence on campus."
"The university has completed its investigation."
"Expulsion is the final decision."
Sebastian’s face turned ugly.
"Malcolm, have you lost your mind?"
"My family donates tens of millions every year."
"Have you forgotten that?"
A mocking smile appeared on Malcolm’s face.
Before today, that threat would have worked.
Now it sounded almost laughable.
"Mr. Vayne."
"You seem to misunderstand something."
"Our university no longer needs your donations."
"Keep your money."
"And as for your son..."
"He is no longer a student here."
For a moment, complete silence filled the line.
Sebastian couldn’t believe what he was hearing.
Then Malcolm delivered the final blow.
"And one more thing."
"Don’t call me again about this matter."
The next second—
Click.
The call ended.
Sebastian stared at the disconnected screen.
His face alternated between red and pale.
In all his years, this was the first time Malcolm had dared to hang up on him.
Meanwhile, inside the principal’s office, Malcolm slowly placed the phone down.
The irritation on his face vanished instantly.
Replacing it was a bright smile.
He turned toward Lucas, who was calmly sitting on the sofa as though none of this concerned him.
"Lucas."
"Everything has been taken care of."
"From today onward, nobody in this university will dare trouble you again."
