A crack split open in the center of the water curtain barrier, revealing a pitch-black cave entrance behind it.
The four of them slipped inside.
The inside of the Cave Mansion was a Grotto Heaven, a small Secret Realm carved out deep underground.
A purple river of poison flowed across the ground, with ghastly white bones floating in it.
Miao Hongrui’s python form slithered across the poison river, and the toxic water actually parted for her. ’Such pure Poison Element. If I absorb this, it’ll be worth ten years of bitter cultivation.’
Xiong Hanshan shattered a skeleton on the bank with a single stomp, then smashed his Iron Armor Bear Arm against the nearby stone wall. "Enough of these cheap tricks!"
With a tremendous crash, the stone wall collapsed, revealing a passageway behind it.
Qin Xuan’s Divine Sense swept over the area, and his expression changed. "Be careful. Something’s woken up."
GURGLE—GURGLE—
A low croak, like a muffled drum, echoed from the depths, accompanied by earth-shaking tremors.
Miao Hongrui’s vertical pupils constricted. "It’s a Demon Beast native to the Cyan Nether Mountain Range!"
Out of the darkness, a toad the size of a small mountain slowly emerged.
Its entire body was ink-green, its back covered in a dense spread of poisonous warts. The largest one had already condensed into what looked like an Inner Core, radiating a heart-stopping Demon Qi.
"A Five Poison Toad! It really is at the Late-stage of the Purple Mansion realm!"
Xiong Hanshan roared and charged forward, his Iron Armor Bear Arm swelling in size. "I was just looking for a Poison Pill for my Body Refinement!"
"CROAK!"
The toad opened its mouth and spat a toxic mist. Xiong Hanshan’s armor corroded on contact, but he paid it no mind. The Demon Bear half of his body erupted with Barbaric Giant Power, forcefully knocking the toad back several steps.
Miao Hongrui silently circled to its flank. Her python tail whipped out, coiling around the toad’s hind leg. Venom seeped from between her scales, corroding the toad’s hide.
"Fellow Daoist Qin, aren’t you going to act?"
she called out sweetly, but a calculating glint flashed in her eyes.
Qin Xuan rose into the air using Sword Control. His [Demon Slayer] Sword Talisman began to glow faintly, but he didn’t aim for the toad. Instead, he struck at the Inner Core-like poisonous wart on its back.
The flash of his sword collided with the toxic mist, producing a sizzling sound.
The Inner Core wart flared with brilliant light, actually shattering the Sword Array.
Enraged, the toad’s eyes turned crimson. All the poisonous warts on its back lit up at once as it prepared to launch a fatal blow.
"Bring it on!"
Xiong Hanshan let out a wild roar as he transformed into a thirty-foot-tall giant bear, merging perfectly with his half-body of iron armor. His aura skyrocketed.
Miao Hongrui also revealed her true Demon Python form. A hundred-foot-long Giant Python coiled upwards, its fangs gleaming with a chilling light.
Qin Xuan, however, used the chaos as a cover to retreat.
"Fellow Daoists, keep it busy! I’m going to set up an Array!"
The toad Demon Beast roared in fury. The poisonous warts on its back swelled like orbs, and an ink-green toxic mist spewed forth, condensing in mid-air into countless Poison Arrows that rained down on the four of them like a torrential storm!

Xiong Hanshan roared wildly and took a step forward, a muffled snarl emanating from the Iron-Armored Demon Bear part of his torso.

Xiong Hanshan’s muscles bulged, veins standing out on his skin like coiling dragons. His already massive body seemed to swell another size larger.
His golden Lifebound Longsword, as wide as a door panel, stirred up vicious winds as he swung it, forcefully shattering the large volley of oncoming Poison Arrows.
Venom splashed onto his Iron-Armored Demon Bear torso, making a hissing, corrosive sound, but it was unable to immediately penetrate the armor.
"Sword Talisman: Binding Silk!"
Miao Hongrui cried out sharply. Her figure flickered backward like a ghost as she gracefully raised a hand. On her Lifebound Longsword, a pale blue Sword Talisman suddenly lit up!
The Sword Qi dispersed, transforming into countless fine, pliable, pale blue threads.
"CROAK!"
The Five Poison Toad roared and struggled with immense strength, pulling the pale blue net of silk so taut that it groaned under the strain.
