Chapter 178: I will teach them

Blac was so shocked his mouth hanged open. "Twenty seven days? But that’s not enough to do anything! Sir Azaroth, I ask you to reconsider."

Azaroth said shortly. "There’s nothing to consider. You will train them as I commanded. Give them the full support of your training, if they take to it or not doesn’t matter much."

Blac and everyone else heard the hidden words that Azaroth didn’t say, that the warriors will be used as meat shield anyway. Blac bowed. "As you wish then sir Azaroth."

Stallus then said. "Catena will supply you with meat for the added nutrients. I should advise you to focus on team fighting for the warriors if you want them to last. You will be the one to lead them and their failures will reflect on you."

Blac bowed again but inside he felt a flash of fury and he thought. ’These little insects! Do they think they are some big shit because they got themselves some enchanted tool. That’s it! I’ll let the Greytown crush them faster than they think then I’ll be the new leader of the pathetic Village’

But out loud Blac said. "Then I will divide them and find the worthy warriors while the others are stationed at the farm." He waited until Azaroth nodded at him then he quickly departed, his mind on the way he would deal with them.

Inside, Alex was looking at Stallus and Azaroth with a strange look on his face. "Do you really have to provoke him so much?"

Stallus snorted. "He’s going to do what he wanted anyway but this way at least we’ll make sure he brings us in contact with the Greytown. He’ll stop playing the slow game."

Azaroth nodded as much and said. "We’ll focus on our training while we work to make sure our skills are coming from enchanted tools."

He stood from the chair and went outside into the big backyard to start training. So just like before, their schedule was divided into training and taking some time fighting each other.

They forbade anyone from entering the backyard and with their level they could easily sense if anyone was coming or spying on them. Already they couldn’t practice the Acolyte skills they practiced with the theory part and play mental games about where and how to use which skill.

The villagers were also doing well. With the meat that they had and the special ones provided by Catena to the warriors, they were happy with the strangers ruling over them. But the heavy sad feeling over the village still lingered.

From time to time Azaroth would take a walk in the village, his red eyes taking everything in. Most times he’ll end up at the farm which was also the place where the warriors were training.

Just like Stallus advised, Blac was trying to put them together into something that resembled a team of six each. But as novice rank, their ranged attacks were really lacking, but then Azaroth got an idea as he watched them.

He was frowning at them as ideas spun in his mind. How can he improve their fighting force with such few days? They had little essence and it obviously couldn’t be used to forge their own bodies, not to talk of their fighting style of using spears.

"Blac, can’t you combine their essence to do something?" Azaroth asked. It’s part of the method of making essence shields but he didn’t say that out loud.

"Like how the Greytown warriors fight?" Blac asked in surprise.

But Azaroth didn’t know anything about that so he just nodded and explained how they would go about it. They needed a central warrior to direct the essence and if they pulled it off then six of them should be able to get their power closer to a very weak Initiate rank. At the very least they wouldn’t die so easily on the battlefield.

Blac frowned. "But I don’t know how to train them that way. It is a special technique of the Greytown."

Azaroth wasn’t having it and he said. "I will teach them."

He directed each team to provide a warrior that was skilled in essence control to stand in the middle with the five others behind him then he told them to direct their essence into the person.

The result was bad and for two days they didn’t even know how to project their essence to the central warrior. Azaroth didn’t have the time to train them with gentle words so he borrowed the training method of the Inferno Legion.

"Do you all see this sword?" Azaroth raised his sword till all of them could see it. He continued speaking. "I will now come to attack you and the only way to survive this is that each team should be able to activate the technique."

Silence followed his words and Azaroth didn’t know if they believed him or not. But he cared not and gazed at them calmly until he was sure his words had settled in them.

Blac shivered at the look on Azaroth’s face and he pitied the warriors and was glad he wasn’t them right there.

Azaroth flung himself forward at the speed only capable of novice level. His sword danced in the air and maybe the first team thought Azaroth would only scare them, but their surprise turned to horrific shock as heads spun and blood fell on their face like twisted rain.

Azaroth frowned at them and said without any emotion in his voice. "Now your team is not complete. I should kill you all."

It was then that the screaming and shouting began. The first team trembled and begged that they would do it and he should please get away from them. Azaroth told them if they could manage to do the technique then he’ll naturally leave them be.

Fear is one of the strongest emotions ever and it comes with a heavy dose of willpower that wants one to survive. They managed to pull off the technique while they sweat and their limbs shook.
