Chapter 754: Chapter 713: Arrival

Actually, if these people stayed still without moving their feet, they wouldn’t die.

Tesla merely injected current into the surrounding environment, and as these people charged toward him with guns, stepping forward formed a step voltage, guiding the electricity from Tesla’s body over, essentially indicating the path for the electric giant dragon themselves.

So when the enemies turned into charcoal, emitting the stench of protein burning, the red carpet on the ground remained intact, shining like new.

"Huff, huff..."

Tesla is not a professional warrior; he is essentially still a scientist. Although he used science to escape from Hell, it doesn’t mean his physical condition is particularly good now.

"Do you really want to die that badly? Why kill people?!"

Just as he was catching his breath, he suddenly heard someone speak. He turned his head and saw Howard and Nathaniel, both using Howard’s invention—wall-adhesive shoes.

They were hanging upside down from the corridor ceiling, holding Nathaniel’s new invention, the prototype beam gun.

"Agent Richards, Agent Stark, I disagree with you..."

As soon as he finished speaking, the coils and diodes on him emitted a red light, followed by a flood of electric arcs sweeping toward the two.

"Wow..."

Howard hurriedly pulled Nathaniel to evade. This was madness; the combat strength wasn’t even on the same level.

The opponent has super technological battle armor equipped with extraordinarily strong functions, essentially armed to the teeth, while they only had a pair of shoes and a gun, needing to quickly think of a strategy.

The two of them scurried across the ceiling like rabbits, chased by streaks of electric light as if they were jumping crazily from muscle spasms.

"Use the rocket propulsion feature," Howard hinted to Nathaniel.

So as the ceiling was about to be covered in lightning, the two pressed a button on their shoes, which spewed flames from the soles, allowing them to leave the ceiling and float in the corridor.

Seeing these little inventions, Tesla couldn’t help but sneer; to a genius who grasped the true essence of electricity, these basic physics inventions were considered trivial.

But since the juniors want to play, let’s play thoroughly!

Denser electric light instantly illuminated the corridor brightly.

.................

"Hmm, this is the place."

Taking advantage of the night, Su Ming landed on the rooftop beside an alley, where there was a mark left by Dotti—a giant glowing spider web strikingly visible even at night.

"Feeling so uncomfortable, shouldn’t have drunk alcohol..."

Zheng Xian clutched his stomach, burping non-stop, as he was flown here by the Supreme Mage.

He’d never seen someone who could fly so fast; from the Imperial Capital during day to almost instantly turning into night in Rome, chasing sunset was no joke.

Of course, rapid movement not only made him feel cold all over but the negative G-force upon landing nearly made him spew out Moutai; now his entire esophagus felt burning.

From a hidden spot, a hat-clad silhouette emerged, it was Dotti, who followed Howard all the way here.

Given the spider web was still in the preparation stage, she didn’t bring her partner Eva this time and acted alone.

"Boss, you’re here." She glanced at Zheng Xian, who was panting leaning on a stick, but quickly shifted her gaze: "Seems like the journey was smooth."

Zheng Xian squinted, pressed a few major acupuncture points on his chest, stubbornly forcing the impending vomit back down, then turned with a mischievous smile, looking at the hazy figure hidden in the night.

"Pretty good, if only your boss was a bit slower." He smiled and shook his head, confident that at such speed, only his body could withstand it: "I’m Zheng Xian, a Celestial Dynasty person."

Dotti casually nodded, the evening wind tossed her hair, enlarging her shadow.

"Black Widow."

This is her introduction, not a word extra.

Su Ming wouldn’t give Zheng Xian a chance to extract information; Dotti still lacked experience, while Zheng Xian was hundreds of years old, so conversation might reveal some clues.

He immediately shifted the topic: "Where did Howard run off to?"

"The southern side of Venice Square’s sewer, there’s a really strange underground structure there, like... a spatial wormhole," Dotti tilted her head, somewhat uncertain.

Because she followed several people into the sewer and saw that sinkhole, but by then, the elevator had already descended. She intended to sneak down, but upon peeking into the sinkhole...

She discovered it was like a huge ink vortex below, not perceiving where the elevator vanished to.

Su Ming nodded, took a bottle of liquor from his pocket, and handed it to her: "Good work, your task is over, return to the base."

Dotti smiled, gently took the bottle, swaying to the roof edge, waving goodbye before jumping off the rooftop, disappearing into the dark streets.

"Alright, this time we’re set. Holy Shield dares to venture into the sewer; it’s digging its own grave!" Su Ming worked his neck, promising Zheng Xian.

Finding a path in heaven he wouldn’t tread, barging into a doorless sewer he ventures into! No other place to say, but tunnel warfare is where Su Ming excels.

"Your subordinates are better than those rascals of mine. They follow orders without question. In that situation earlier, my men would have probably argued about the mission."

Zheng Xian withdrew his gaze from the night, speaking with a sigh.

Su Ming casually put his arm around him and walked in another direction, "We’ve had drinks together before, after all. I’ll just call you Old Zheng. Most of your men are Superpower Users, while mine are just ordinary people."

Zheng Xian squinted, realizing that apart from Kama Taiji, this international friend had other forces at his disposal.

Su Ming, of course, knew what he was thinking. As a spy, Dotti was indeed more useful than the rough men under Zheng Xian, and this was deliberately shown to him.

Having put in so much effort in Marvel, Su Ming held many cards, the strongest being Wade and the Secret Guest, which he would never let Zheng Xian know.

Both had their own thoughts, but appeared very cordial. Zheng Xian seemed pleased to be called Old Zheng, "Should I call you Xiaowei? It doesn’t quite roll off the tongue."

"Just call me Deathstroke. We’re probably looking at the entrance. What do you think?"

Zheng Xian still wore his squinty smile and replied casually, "I see something suspicious here."

Su Ming: ".... I know, is Holy Shield below?"

Zheng Xian first stepped into the sewer, his hands tearing off the white cloth on the Divine Spear. A golden light instantly lit up in the darkness: "I’ve lived a few years more and have some research on mechanisms. Let me lead the way."

Rather than a sewer, it was more like sewer ruins, lacking any dampness. They walked as if in a desert, surrounded by dust.

Su Ming kept observing. At least the ecosystem here was intact, not only with cockroaches and spiders, but occasionally stepping on rat tails.

"This path seems frequently used; these rats aren’t even afraid of people." Su Ming’s voice echoed in the tunnel.

Zheng Xian nodded, flicking his spear, a point of cold light first appearing, followed by the spear striking like a dragon!

He picked up a rat...

He didn’t mind at all, taking the rat off the spear tip, continuing to walk as he opened the rat’s belly for a look, then tossed it aside.

"Just as I thought, these rats are large and their stomachs are full of food."

Because of their fast pace, they soon reached a chasm like an abyss. Looking down, sure enough, just as Dotti said, a black as ink Great Vortex was swirling below.

"Space Bridge." Zheng Xian stroked his chin, giving a conclusion. He looked at Su Ming, "Shall we just jump down and test our luck?"

"Old Zheng, don’t kid with me. A Space Bridge is a wormhole. Aren’t you afraid I’ll end up in the Otherworld? Just tell me your plan."

Su Ming chuckled, waving his hand as black and yellow armor began to spread on his body. He needed to conceal his identity next.

Zheng Xian lit a cigarette, took a puff, and tossed it down. They watched the red tip spiral down before disappearing suddenly.

"You’re an Otherworldly Person, I’ve heard. That’s why Holy Shield doesn’t interfere with your conflict with Kang."

Su Ming withdrew his gaze from below, looking at Zheng Xian’s squinty eyes: "I understand. If it involves time and Otherworlds, management falls under Kama Taiji. The Ancient One was testing me, and subduing the Conqueror became my mission, but what you’re saying now is kinda pointless, Old Zheng."

Kunlun and Zheng Xian were deeply connected, making confidentiality nearly impossible. Su Ming had turned to Kunlun for help with Baki, and they surely verified Deathstroke’s identity with The Ancient One. Earlier in the office, it seemed Zheng Xian had indeed learned something.

Judging by Zheng Xian’s lack of surprise when Su Ming switched to Holy Image mode, it was clear he already knew who Deathstroke was.

"So, the simplest way is for you to investigate below. Since you can travel freely as an Otherworldly Person, entering a wormhole shouldn’t pose any threat." Zheng Xian laughed.

"Haha, that’s indeed reasonable, but you and I should advance and retreat together." Saying that, Su Ming grabbed Zheng Xian’s arm, and together they fell down.

During the fall, Zheng Xian remained serene: "I hope the other side isn’t a vacuum. That would be troublesome."

"It won’t be. I suspect Holy Shield doesn’t have too many more people than you. It would require a city to accommodate them. No oxygen would be manageable for the strong, but ordinary Immortals surely can’t handle it."

"You even know the concept of the Immortal? You’re really well-informed." Engaged in conversation, both continued to fall, Zheng Xian taking an interest in Su Ming’s knowledge.

The so-called Immortal had no superpowers, merely extending their life through technology or magic.

Su Ming smiled calmly, his expression hidden by a mask, his voice turning into a low growl.

"It’s clearly false advertising. The so-called Immortals live at most six or seven hundred years, shorter than many Mages’ lifespans. How’s that immortal?" 𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦

"Haha, true, and that’s the root cause of Holy Shield and Holy Spear’s split. They’re too impractical. Each generation just needs one leader to ensure efficiency, but they insisted on some council system, wasting time on bureaucracy. And this empty title of immortality merely satisfies their vanity."

As they spoke, their view suddenly opened up, a vast, bustling urban expanse appearing below, filled with streetlights and well-lit buildings stretching into the distance.

Anti-gravity floating islands added interest, resembling flying Holy Temples.

"Seems like they’ve been living quite comfortably for thousands of years."

At last, the cloak caught them, stopping their fall. Then it lightly flapped its edges, hiding in the darkness, as Su Ming first observed the surroundings and gave his assessment.

Zheng Xian laughed, with mockery and disdain in his tone for the first time.

"Nothing special...."
