Chapter 795: Chapter 700: Dementor Loot Drop Frenzy_3

No one answered him.

Cedric couldn’t be bothered to respond, and Kael simply didn’t want to talk.

He was more exhausted than Cedric.

After discovering that Dementors could drop items, he stopped using the Patronus Charm. When encountering those uncooperative Dementors, he would just throw a Fiendfyre Curse at them.

The Fiendfyre Curse is a highly exhausting piece of Dark Magic, and pairing it with a Finite Incantatem spell made it impressive that he was still standing at the end of the day.

However, the harvest wasn’t bad either.

Kael’s bottle was already full, and he planned to find some time to ask Dumbledore or Nicolas what use these items had.

After resting for a while, the two devoured several pieces of fried pork chops and drank a large mug of hot cocoa, feeling much better.

"Where’s Hermione?" Kael put the empty cup on the table and asked.

"She went to find her parents," Fred said.

"But by this time, I think they should be coming down for dinner... oh, here they are."

As he spoke, three people came down the stairs.

"Kael?"

Hermione ran over immediately. "Hello, Cedric..."

"Oh, hello." Cedric said.

"Kael, I’ve been looking for you these past few days, but everyone said you weren’t in the Ministry of Magic." Hermione looked at Kael and asked, "Where have you been?"

"Had some business to take care of." Kael said, "Why were you looking for me? Are your parents uncomfortable living here?"

"No, no," Hermione said, "I’m here to return the money."

She handed a bag of Galleons to Kael.

"So quick..." Kael blinked, "Did you rob Gringotts?"

Making fifty Galleons in two or three days, only robbing Gringotts could be that efficient.

"Of course not," Hermione said, "Don’t forget that Muggle-born wizards can exchange British Pounds for Galleons."

"That much?" Kael was a bit surprised.

"Yes," Hermione nodded, "But once you exceed twenty Galleons, the amount of British Pounds needed increases significantly, making it not worthwhile."

"Then why did you exchange them?" Kael didn’t understand, "I’m not charging you interest, what’s the rush?"

"No problem," Hermione said with a smile, "Ron’s brother Bill worked at Gringotts, didn’t he? He told us that gold and jewels are also strong currency at Gringotts, so we found a way to exchange some.

"Although it was more expensive than exchanging at a five British Pounds to one Galleon rate, Bill found a goblin he knew well, so it wasn’t much worse."

Hearing this, Kael put away the Galleons.

"In that case, I have some good news for you too." He said, "Doesn’t your family live in Hertfordshire as well?"

"That’s right." Hermione nodded.

"There’s not many Dementors left there now." Kael casually took the Butter Beer Fred just ordered and took a sip.

Cedric followed suit, snatching George’s.

"Hey, that’s mine," Fred said discontentedly.

"Don’t be so stingy, just buy another one," Kael said nonchalantly.

"Wait, what do you mean by no Dementors?" Hermione asked, puzzled.

"We’ve been working on this problem," Kael said, taking another sip of Butter Beer. "Honestly, moving to Diagon Alley was a wise choice; the number of Dementors around Hertfordshire really wasn’t small.

"But now they’re gone, you can move back home anytime."

Huh?

Hermione was a bit dazed because she was really unsure whether this was good news or not.

Strictly speaking, it was; this meant she no longer had to worry about Dementors threatening her parents. 𝘧𝑟𝑒𝑒𝘸𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝓁.𝘤𝘰𝓂

But the problem was, she had just spent fifty Galleons a couple of days ago to book a month’s stay here.

If they moved out now, could she get that money back?

Hermione glanced at the bar owner, and her intuition told her, definitely not.

That was fifty Galleons, enough for her to use until graduation at Hogwarts.

"Thanks...thank you..." Hermione said stiffly, clutching her chest.

For the first time, she felt that perhaps the actions of the Ministry of Magic didn’t need to be that swift.

But soon, Hermione adjusted her mood.

Just because the Dementors in Hertfordshire were taken care of didn’t mean there were none; what if they came from somewhere else?

It’s still safer at Diagon Alley; think of it as paying for her parents to learn more about the Magic Realm.

After the initial tension, they’ve indeed been quite happy during this time.

Her mother really liked the clothes at Madam Malkin’s, and her father was fascinated by various magic potions and a toothpaste reportedly containing Ashwinder egg components.

That stuff was frighteningly expensive, but he bit the bullet and bought a tube anyway.

If they were asked to go back now, they probably wouldn’t be too keen either.
