Chapter 933: Chapter 942: Caring (2)

As soon as Qiao Mo got out of the car and hadn’t even steadied herself, a small shadow rushed over and tightly clung to her leg.

Qiao Mo’s eyes welled up as she gently stroked his head and choked out, "Mama is okay."

Qiqi buried his little face between Qiao Mo’s legs, clinging tightly without lifting his head or letting go.

After Uncle Zhong caught up, he softly said, "Little master refused to let the doctor treat his wound; ever since returning, he’s been standing by the window looking out, waiting for you to come back."

Qiao Mo felt a bit heartbroken, "Be good, let Mama see, does it hurt?"

The child’s body was also stained with quite a bit of blood, unclear whether it was hers or if they themselves were injured too.

No matter what Qiao Mo said, Qiqi kept clinging to her leg, unwilling to budge or loosen his hold.

Qiao Mo tried to crouch down, but Qiqi wouldn’t cooperate, so she could only stand while gently rubbing the child’s head, "What’s wrong? Are you scared? With Daddy and Mama here, Qiqi won’t be in any trouble."

"Mama will always protect Qiqi, don’t be afraid."

The child still remained motionless and silent, just holding onto her without letting go.

Qiao Mo turned her head towards Fu Nancheng with some concern, her eyes carrying a hint of inquiry, momentarily unsure of what to do.

Fu Nancheng furrowed his brow, worried that Qiqi’s slightly improved condition was worsening.

"Qiqi, Mama is injured and needs to go inside to find a doctor for treatment, let’s go in together with Mama, okay?"

Upon hearing, Qiqi was silent for a few seconds and finally slowly released Qiao Mo.

Yet, he kept his head down, refusing to lift it up despite anything.

Qiao Mo quickly crouched down, holding him warmly, "What’s wrong? Are you worried about Mama? Or Aunt Yu?"

Qiqi shook his head with his head down, without speaking.

Qiao Mo gently cupped his little face, but upon seeing it, her heart ached intensely.

That cute bun-like face, aside from the scratches, the most heart-wrenching was those eyes.

The child’s eyes were like the brightest stars, but at this moment, those starry eyes were filled with mist, red as a rabbit.

Qiqi seemed extremely frightened, yet was striving hard to hold back tears from falling.

His eyes brimmed with rich mist, almost ready to roll down his face at any moment.

Yet stubbornly, he kept forcing himself to endure. Just as the tears were about to fall, he immediately wiped his face harshly with his sleeve, then looked at Qiao Mo with a red tip of the nose.

He couldn’t cry... Mama didn’t like children who cried...

Grown-ups didn’t like children who cried...

He didn’t want Mama not to like him.

Qiqi sniffed, squeezing his eyes in an attempt to disperse the tears in his eyes.

Qiao Mo choked as she held him in her arms, "It’s okay to cry, Papa always cries too. Mama loves Qiqi whether he cries or not and will always like you."

Fu Nancheng laughed softly, his eyes tinged with mist.

After hearing Qiao Mo’s words, Qiqi was a bit uneasy; once he confirmed she was genuine, he couldn’t control the flood of tears anymore, large teardrops rolled one after another from his face as he clung tightly to Qiao Mo unwilling to let go.

Qiao Mo sighed lightly, sniffed, feeling terribly heartbroken, "Don’t be afraid, Mama is okay, really okay. See, Mama and Daddy are both alright."

While she was speaking, suddenly, Qiqi broke away from her embrace, wiping his tears as he turned and ran towards the door.

Qiao Mo was startled and immediately followed him, afraid he might get into trouble.
