Chapter 2533: Chapter 6: Prove It to Me
The silver sports car drove down the morning road, steady and fast.
The Lucas family’s mansion was located in an opulent luxury mansion area, surrounded by sparsely populated residences, with the coastal avenue almost entirely deserted.
And on such a morning, it was even more so.
Molly Wellington placed her schoolbag in front of her, holding it tightly, her slender fingers gripping the strap as she glanced sideways out the window.
Meanwhile, Abraham Redington’s icy blue eyes were fixed on the road ahead, calm and indifferent.
Between them, no one spoke, the silence so profound that even the sound of breathing seemed superfluous.
"I’m staying for a week, then I’ll leave," Abraham suddenly said, his voice extremely soft.
So soft that it almost made Molly Wellington doubt whether she had heard it right or if it had been an illusion.
"Oh." She hurried to respond, realizing she might have answered too quickly, and immediately composed her face, suppressing all emotions on her face.
Although Molly Wellington wanted to ask, wasn’t her godmother expecting him to stay longer, at least until the engagement banquet?
However, her lips moved slightly, and she swallowed back all the words she wanted to say.
Now, it seemed she had no standing to dictate what Abraham Redington wanted to do.
...
After Molly Wellington let out an ’oh’, silence fell within the car cabin.
No other exchanges occurred between the two.
The atmosphere became increasingly awkward...
"Screech—"
At this moment, the high-performance silver sports car suddenly braked sharply.
The tires left a long mark on the road surface, and the cold, hard silver sports car came to an abrupt halt on the deserted coastal road in the early morning.
The sudden braking caused Molly Wellington’s body to involuntarily lean forward.
Just as her head was about to hit the front, a large hand suddenly extended from the side, blocking her forehead.
Her forehead collided with a mildly cool palm.
A sensation like an electric shock traveled through the palm, through her forehead, and pierced into her left atrium.
Molly Wellington froze in place, and only half a second later did she react, retreating backward to escape that unsettling large hand.
"Tha-thank you..." she nervously expressed her gratitude, totally unaware that the inexplicable sudden brake had been caused by Abraham Redington.
She didn’t need to thank him at all.
"You really want me to leave." A cold, indifferent voice suddenly resounded from the driver’s seat.
The inexplicably stopped man, with deep blue eyes, fixedly gazed at her lowered, faintly blushing face.
"Hm?" Molly Wellington was utterly puzzled, not understanding why the topic had shifted so quickly.
The man’s azure blue eyes, hidden behind his tousled black hair, flickered in and out of view.
He slightly parted his thin lips, speaking in a slightly cool tone: "You hope I’ll leave sooner."
Only then did Molly Wellington finally understand what Abraham Redington was saying.
"No, of course not." She took a deep breath and said.
The man’s slightly cool gaze roved over Molly Wellington’s flushed little face.
Finally, it fixed on her slightly parted, pink and lovely lips.
"Really?" He asked extremely coldly, his tone not only icy but also carrying a hint of undetectable irritation.
Molly Wellington could only vaguely discern that he seemed to be in a bad mood, without knowing why.
"Yes, we... our quarrel back then was just childish. We’ve all grown up now; who still holds grudges from the past."
Nervously, she pressed her lips together, her small tongue inadvertently sweeping over her lower lip, making her already vibrant pink lips gain an alluring sheen.
The man’s ice-blue eyes instantly darkened.
"If that’s so, prove it to me."
One moment Abraham Redington was still sitting in the driver’s seat, the next he suddenly leaned over toward the passenger seat.
Molly Wellington felt her seatback recline, causing her to involuntarily lie down.
And the next moment, the tall and straight body of Abraham Redington loomed over her.
