Chapter 2531: Chapter 4: Are You Avoiding Abraham Redington?
Returning to the room, Molly Wellington held the small red leather box given by Abraham Redington, and fell back onto the soft bed.
"Sigh... No new ideas, gifting this kind of cold thing again..."
Lying on the bed, she opened the gift box, looking at the expensive yet cold diamond-studded watch inside.
The mirror reflecting a chill, seemed to echo Abraham Redington’s cold and distant face.
Abraham Redington wasn’t like this when they were kids.
But ever since their parting ten years ago, it seems that many things have changed.
"Andrew... Andrew..."
The name slipped out unconsciously.
This name has become so unfamiliar, seemed like yesterday, yet it’s been long gone.
Actually, Molly Wellington also doesn’t know why her relationship with Abraham Redington became this way.
Clearly as children, they were so close, they would bicker, make up.
The blue-eyed boy liked to tease her with sarcasm, but would also coax her, even protect her.
Compared to the now cold and distant Abraham Redington, it’s like they are two different people.
Ten years indeed can change many things, many people.
...
That night, Molly Wellington used a headache as an excuse not to go down for dinner.
She doesn’t know what’s wrong with her, just instinctively avoids facing Abraham Redington, and doesn’t want to be in the same space with him.
Because Molly Wellington felt unwell, Ellie brought up dinner for her, Lily Redington, the godmother, and Yana Lucas both came to check on her.
The godmother didn’t notice anything, but the younger Yana Lucas, stared at her with that cold peach blossom eyes for a long while.
Compared to the vaguely muddled Tiffany Lucas, Molly Wellington finds Yana Lucas’ penetrating gaze the hardest to deal with.
"Yana, what are you looking at?" Molly Wellington took a sip of soup, couldn’t help but ask.
Sitting opposite her on the lounge chair, the fragile girl with porcelain skin and long black hair blinked expressionlessly: "Not looking at anything... just feel, you have a good appetite."
Molly Wellington sweetly smiled: "Couldn’t resist, Ellie’s soup is so delicious, Ellie’s cooking skills are even better than a Michelin-star chef."
"Really?" Yana Lucas curled her lips, her beautiful peach blossom eyes emanating a cool aura, "But with your headache, still able to eat so much?"
Molly Wellington: "I..."
The girl’s almond-shaped eyes flickered, secretly feeling things went awry; she forgot her own character setting.
Now she’s supposed to be sick, feeling unwell...
Yana Lucas saw through Molly Wellington’s distress, didn’t expose her, just leaned slantways on the armrest, said coolly: "Don’t you think you’re overreacting to my second brother? Though you guys didn’t part on good terms as kids, it’s been ten years since then. Molly, are you avoiding my second brother?"
"No, absolutely not... why would I avoid him." Molly Wellington shook her head, resolutely denying.
Yana Lucas laughed: "Good then, you should sleep early, tomorrow still have school."
As she said this, she stood up, suddenly leaned on the doorframe before heading out, looked back at Molly Wellington who was still sipping soup.
"By the way, since you’re not avoiding him, then tomorrow morning to school, you’ll ride his car. I’m going to the activity center, the driver will take me."
"What..." Molly Wellington’s soup spoon clattered into the bowl.
She and Yana Lucas, one in Senior Year, one in Junior Year, both attended the same school.
Usually in the morning, the two would ride to school together.
"What, you don’t want to?" Yana Lucas leaned on the door, asked with a faint smile.
"Not really." To avoid seeming different towards Abraham Redington, Molly Wellington replied without thinking.
"But, you are siblings, isn’t it better for you to ride with him? Just let the driver take me."
"No." Yana Lucas’ lips curled, seeing Molly Wellington like this, rare playfulness revealed in her smile, "I prefer being alone, don’t like being with him. That’s settled, sleep early, Molly."
