Chapter 2530: Chapter 3: Reunion After Ten Years

"Why are things still as troublesome as they were when you were a kid..." A cold, pleasant voice carried up from downstairs.

Standing on the stairs, Molly Wellington paused at her feet, clearly not expecting to hear Abraham Redington’s voice.

How long had it been since she last heard that voice.

Different from the warm tone mixed with clarity from childhood, the boy in her memory... seems to have grown up.

A casual voice drifted up from downstairs: "She’s brother’s fiancée, not mine, so why do I have to wait until the engagement banquet is over before I can leave."

"Watch your tone, Abbie. That’s Molly, not an outsider. I’m warning you, don’t bully Molly like you did when you were kids and make her cry again this time."

"Tch, I’m not that idle." The man’s voice came with a hint of impatience, "And mom, I’m already twenty; can you stop calling me by my nickname."

Lily Redington shook her head with a smile: "No, no matter how old you are, you’ll always be mother’s son. Look at your brother; he’s already serving as a director in the military, standing on his own. Out there, he’s fierce, cold, and cool, but when I call him ’Ben Lucas,’ doesn’t he still answer."

Abraham Redington’s handsome face darkened.

Only a brother who spoils his mother beyond reason like that can do it; he certainly can’t be like his older brother.

Listening to their conversation downstairs shift to other topics, Molly Wellington finally breathed a sigh of relief.

She adjusted her breathing and walked downstairs.

"Godmother, Yana..." Molly Wellington controlled her emotions as she appeared downstairs.

She had recognized Lily Redington as her godmother from a young age and first greeted Lily Redington and Yana Lucas in a usual manner.

Finally, her gaze pretended to unintentionally fall on that both unfamiliar and familiar long-absent figure.

The girl’s thick eyelashes fluttered slightly.

"Abraham, you’re back." Molly Wellington’s eyes lit up, intentionally showing some surprise as if unaware of Abraham Redington’s return.

She quickly glanced at the man sitting on the sofa, black hair, blue eyes, a tall nose bridge, fair skin, paired with a slender and upright figure.

His long legs casually draped over each other, lounging leisurely on the sofa.

Completely different from the ever upright, stern, and cool image of Jordan Lancaster.

Abraham Redington seemed much more wayward and unrestrained.

Ten years apart, his features had grown even more profound than when he left.

He had transformed from a handsome boy into a gentleman of cold, noble temperament, rebellious and unrestrained.

"Molly, come, have a seat... come and see what Abraham has brought you." Seeing her son’s slight pause but no reply.

Lily Redington promptly waved Molly over to avoid an awkward silence.

Quickly gathering herself, Molly Wellington walked over with a sweet smile, obediently sitting beside Lily Redington.

"Take a look, see if you like it, Abraham brought it back especially for you."

A beautifully wrapped gift box was handed to Molly Wellington.

She gently opened it; a global limited edition luxury watch, the dial encrusted with a circle of diamonds, exquisite and noble, but... so cold, not fitting her at all.

"Thank you, Abraham. I really like it." Molly Wellington curled up a smile, still sweet, nodding to Abraham Redington in gratitude.

David Redington, as coldly as the gift, cast his cool gaze on Molly Wellington’s face, noticeably more radiant than ten years ago.

When he left then, she was still a willful, spoiled girl prone to crying.

Now, a decade later, the once-capering child had grown into a well-shaped young woman.

Only she seemed much more well-behaved than her former willfulness.

No longer calling him ’Abbie,’ instead, distantly addressing him by first and last name.

Good.

Abraham Redington’s sapphire almond-shaped eyes darkened, nodding coolly: "It’s great if Future Sister-in-law likes it."
