Seoul Waterbomb.

Waaaaaah!!

Ahh! Hey!

The frenzy of the summer festival—trading fun for stamina—had been in full swing since afternoon: sprays of water, laughter, screams, and music erupting from every direction.

Usually most attendees at these events focus on playing rather than watching performances, but today’s Waterbomb drew plenty of people who, despite the exhaustion of ten hours of water-gun battles and cheering, clearly came for one thing.

“They’re up last, right?”

“Yeah... I think?”

They’re TeSTAR’s fans. Of course TeSTAR has huge public recognition, and this isn’t their solo concert, so not everyone here is a die-hard, but still—people who wouldn’t normally brave a ten-hour water fight party showed up anyway.

Even non-fans came expecting to see TeSTAR’s performance as “famous singers.”

“It’s freezing.”

“Well, the bigger names come out at night. TeSTAR’s on after nine, I think?”

“Okay. We’ll hang in there. ...Whoa, hey, Moody’s up next!”

“No way!”

But among those simply enjoying the festival, some TeSTAR fans were anxious. Naturally—it’s Cha Yoo jin’s absence.

– Really bummed Yoo jin’s not here ㅠㅠ

– Cha Go young would’ve gone crazy out there; Yoo jin must hate missing this most of all...

– He never gets sick, so if he is, it’s serious... Let him rest and get healthy, love you Yoo jin (pic)

The announcement that Cha Yoo jin was suspending schedules for health reasons went up days ago, so most assumed he wouldn’t show today. SNS was full of messages hoping for his recovery. But the worry didn’t stop there—his star power is so huge that fans began speculating wildly.

– ?? No diagnosis given, just “rest”?

– LOL Yoo jin’s official account hasn’t posted—pretty sus

– Did Cha mera flair up again?

– Yoo jin stress break? LOL feels so fake, doesn’t suit him

Since debut, has Cha Yoo jin ever been ill enough to cancel everything indefinitely? And they didn’t even say what was wrong—only that he’d been advised to take a break for “physical and mental strain.” So people wondered, “What’s really going on?”

Rumors flew under the surface. By dawn, some trolls even surfaced with spicy claims:

– Yoo jin’s “sick”? Nah, he’s off meeting his girlfriend ^_^ Yesterday he went AWOL, company’s furious, idiots

– The account “Yoo jin Ignatius Finds His Roots” (★★★He actually did abandon the dorm★★★)

Anonymous accounts, all speaking in the same tone, spreading claims of a secret girlfriend, dorm fights with members, contract disputes—everything. Some even said TeSTAR might cancel entirely!

– Let’s see if TeSTAR shows up lol pity party

– If they drop a cancellation notice, don’t fool yourself

Then fence-sitters thinking “Where there’s smoke...” chimed in:

– Sounds like something’s up

– Hard not to worry, he’s always been different since debut

– Come on, Big Bird, you guys search everything—do something, it’s eerily quiet ㅠ

By midday it calmed, but fans remained uneasy. Even Kim Rae bin’s casual outing with friends put his fans on edge:

‘Why of all times does Yoo jin get sick now?’

They’d spent money on tickets—should they {N•o•v•e•l•i•g•h•t} get a partial refund? Probably not thanks to Rae bin, but still...

‘He’s not gonna bail... yeah, he won’t.’

Muttering that, Rae bin’s fan edged close to the front fence, rain-soaked and cold, determined not to miss a moment.

“Hey, move up here?”

“Sure.”

Their friends followed, and around them people were doing the same—eyes darting to fill gaps and check the timetable mentally.

Fine. The jitters are one thing. Seeing TeSTAR live is another.

No cancellation came. Now for the final segment.

“They’re on!!”

[Hello Seoul~]

Papa baba pa-pang!!

Water cannons, pounding sound, pyrotechnic flame effects and bursting LEDs lit up the dark midsummer evening stage, and six tall figures strode out.

[Make some noise!]

It was TeSTAR!

Waaaaaah!!!

Even as the crowd screamed, fans noticed one thing—Cha Yoo jin was missing. But only for a moment. Their eyes shifted to the group’s outfits.

They wore simple white T-shirts and jeans, a few with light denim jackets tossed on. Perfect for this setting—simplicity lets the water be the highlight.

Waaaaaah!!!

Over the deafening roar, the familiar intro beat kicked in—an upbeat, slightly more rhythmic festival remix of “Promise.”

[Take your STAR

On the night the stars rain down

Ride the waves and run

Up to the sky, run and fly!]

A crisp idol pop hit, everyone sang along—exactly the college-fest vibe you want. And with “water” as the theme, the performance fit perfectly.

“Wow!!”

“So damn good, holy shit!”

Already teSTAR was splashing through the water spray on stage in custom barefoot anti-slip pads, earning bursts of pure color-bright cheers. They gave everything they had.

[Today is good just as it is

Let’s go!]

In the second verse they tossed in an ad-lib break, racing around the catwalk.

“Seon Ah hyun!”

Seon Ah hyun popped out to the edge, spinning gracefully through the spray.

Waaaaaah!!

She gave a shy wave with a hint of embarrassment—and got doused again.

Nearby:

“Ryu Cheong woo! Ryu Cheong woo!”

“Over here please!”

Even non-TeSTAR fans jerked toward the shout. Ryu Cheong woo smiled, taking water on his neck and back, playing it up.

‘Insane abs...’

Holding back the urge to turn away, Kim Rae bin’s fan swiveled to her bias and froze.

[Yes, fly so far like this]

Right in front of her: the brilliantly pierced white face of Kim Rae bin.

‘This is it, Kim Rae bin.’

She almost lost it—but then reality hit: the member wearing a jacket beside him was letting a boisterous couple yank it off.

“Take it off! Take it off!”

“Are you kidding me?!”

That jacket really came off—handed into the crowd!

“Ahhhhh!!”

“Momma!!”

Absolute bedlam—screams and wild cheering. Kim Rae bin, bewildered, took it as a sign of thanks, bowed slightly, and plunged back into the performance with his shirt plastered to his back.

‘...Fuck.’

He still killed it. I kick myself for ever hating on him for risking himself at Waterbomb.

‘Hot as hell...!’

Kim Rae bin’s fan, grateful she hadn’t filmed it, watched with her own eyes.

[Tonight will sparkle–!]

After circling the catwalk, TeSTAR launched into a high-energy dance break to close the first song. The crowd’s roar rocked the open-air venue.

[Hello~ Nice to meet you!]

Even during their light banter, water jets splashed them nonstop. Lee Sejin laughed it off, wiping her cheek and moving on.

[Got it! But fun is more important~ right?]

The cheers and positivity echoed around them.

Yet amid the hot, thrilling atmosphere, a frown crossed Kim Rae bin’s fan’s face.

‘This is why Waterbomb’s risky.’ 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝔀𝓮𝒃𝙣𝓸𝒗𝒆𝒍.𝙘𝒐𝒎

Mindless shooters, drunk tossers—dangerous. Famous male idols attract weird fandoms and jealous haters.

But then Park Mundae—the drenching stage puppy—made a bombshell comment:

[Then just shoot freely.]

“...??”

[We’ve got you covered.]

He reached into his pocket—and so did the others. Waterproof goggles.

“Hahaha!”

They hadn’t needed them earlier, now they donned them like armor. Stylish fashion goggles, then leapt onto the catwalk in order, no pause.

[Next song, here we go!]

“Waaaaaah!!”

“Ahh!!”

Perfect spot! Insane!

As Kim Rae bin’s fan and her friend clasped arms and screamed, Bae Sejin at the front got showered with water-gun fire. His white shirt was soaked through.

‘Poor guy!’

Yet he didn’t stop, encouraging his fans who aimed at his abs.

Then the next prelude hit.

Doong...!

“Ah, the new track!”

“Roll the Dice.”

A slightly more intense remix—people screamed in anticipation. Just before the crowd could really join in...

[And... we have a guest.]

“Huh?”

Ryu Cheong woo grinned, but before he could explain, the band kicked in:

[In your hands again

My tape winds close!]

Park Mundae’s high notes rang out.

“Waaaaaah!”

Goggles on, he moved freely through any spray, the crowd’s lights tracing his form.

[The moment my heart pounds

Every sense slows]

TeSTAR delivered signature choreography crisply, then freestyle ran the catwalk. Cameras flashed. The beat dropped, the air crackled with heat and moisture. Just before the pre-chorus—

[Finding the certain answer–]

Suddenly the music cut out.

“...?”

At the peak moment! A presumed audio glitch—then:

Ping!

From the back of the catwalk, on the main stage’s LED screen, brilliant lights flickered. And there he stood: blonde hair, jeans, a fitted white T-shirt, goggles—a seventh figure. Cha Yoo jin.

[.......]

He tapped the mic, matching pitch as a test:

[Ah, ah.]

In that instant:

“Wooooooah!!”

“Yoo jin!!”

“Who is that?!”

Fans, startled but thrilled, screamed. Then the band roared back in:

[!!]

Cha Yoo jin sprinted onto the catwalk.

“Holy shit!”

Sweeping his hair aside, he ran straight through the spray, never missing a breath, blasting his part through the mic.

[One choice remains

Take it all, one more

Even if you let go of this hand]

At the very center of TeSTAR’s formation, he planted his foot:

[Let’s start, let the battle begin]

The drop hit—an extra dance break.

[side side side]

Cha Yoo jin popped forward.

“...!!”

Insane. Completely insane. The water-gun fire paused in awe. His presence was volumetric, violent, electrifying.

‘What the?!’

[Just roll the dice]

He executed a near-solo break—launching off the ground, sweeping across in recoil, every move breathtaking though seemingly overtaxing.

‘Uh?’

No time to register. His next move: casually lifting his shirt and tossing it to the stunned crowd—revealing a sculpted torso.

“...?!”

“Woooaaaah!!”

On and on, creating moment after moment no one could tear their eyes from. When the song slowed, he sat down and let the water hit his face directly—giving the shooters perfect aim.

‘F--king insane.’

He locked eyes with each shooter, then whipped off his goggles and rose—effortlessly—just in time to rejoin the formation for the final chorus. As the title track’s last refrain exploded, fireworks burst—but even that felt like mere background, as he burned every line, every limit.

At that moment, SNS blew up:

– OMG Cha Yoo jin at Waterbomb!!

– Yooooo!! Cha Yoo jin!!

And it all boiled down to one thing: Steer Cha Yoo jin wasn’t innately more powerful than TeSTAR’s Yoo jin. He lacked management and training, which hurt. But experience—countless incidents in his old group—forced him to gain split-second learning and adaptability or die.

– He nailed it.

– Damn.

In four hours he mastered TeSTAR’s latest title remix choreography and two other event songs. Then, to leave a mark, he activated one hidden stat:

[Charisma: EX (EX)]

If an opportunity arises, he won’t let the spotlight slip away.
