Chapter 1183: Chapter 15: Breakthrough (Part 2)

The two hundred and twenty Chuckna Warriors who survived the catastrophe followed the little kid, traversing through the dense jungle.

In the winter jungle, many large trees had already lost most of their dead leaves. Bare branches crisscrossed, dark and heavy as they reached up into the sky, resembling countless praying hands. The beauty of the autumn jungle hadn’t completely vanished, as evergreen plants mixed with yellow fallen leaves, red maple leaves, and white and brown bark painted the forest with a layer of quiet beauty.

From the treetops, bird calls occasionally rang out, while on the ground, the sound of boots stepping on dry branches and leaves could be heard. As the cold wind whistled through the forest, the previously silent jungle became noisy. The forest leaves swayed in the wind, producing a sound like a downpour.

The warriors stepped on dry leaves and branches, skirted around large trees, and exchanged glances of complexity with the companions just meters away, before lifting their gazes to the boy leading ahead.

Even now, everyone felt like they were dreaming.

Did these more than two hundred men really get saved by the little boy staggering ahead?

Did those tough and ferocious, fully armed Jiepeng escort soldiers get so easily slain by a child barely in kindergarten?

Many warriors could only exchange wry smiles when their eyes met. Such an event seemed unbelievable, even an idiot wouldn’t believe it if told. Not even in dreams would they imagine such an extraordinary occurrence.

Recalling the vivid and startling scenes that happened before, waves of emotions surged in their hearts again and again.

The little boy’s lightning-fast figure and silent actions, the Jiepeng soldiers with large bites taken from their necks, their chests caved in from impacts, heads turned completely backward, and the shocking bloodstains...now before their eyes, as if a vibrantly colored painting filled with a cruel aesthetic of violent beauty!

No conversation, everyone quietly followed the golden-haired little boy behind them, each harboring various thoughts. No one knew whether he was an angel or a devil.

No one knew where the little boy, wearing sagging pants that looked like they could hit the ground any moment, with his little legs flapping, was planning to lead them. They’d walked a considerable distance now, even the strongest soldiers were starting to tire, but the boy showed no intention of stopping for rest.

Nonetheless, despite their confusion, the warriors dared not ask.

Over time, previous anxieties and uncertainties slowly faded away. After all, they survived against the odds, and weren’t afraid of losing their lives again. The warriors now just wanted to quickly see the place the boy was leading them to. Perhaps there awaited a surprise.

Just as they rounded a mountain bend, suddenly a burst of cannon and explosion sounds echoed from the front.

Seeing the Lieutenant Colonel ahead waving his hand, the warriors, startled by the sudden loud noise, all stopped, their expressions guarded as they scanned the surroundings.

The earth was shaking, the dry leaves and branches on the ground rapidly yet subtly vibrating. The deafening explosions created a constant roar, seemingly close enough to touch.

Thud, clang, boom!

A familiar sound came through, and all the warriors’ faces changed simultaneously.

Mecha! That’s the sound of a mecha battle!

Before the Lieutenant Colonel could issue a command, the warriors swiftly hid themselves in the bushes and behind large trees.

In the moment everyone had just hidden, a Jiepeng Fushan mecha suddenly crashed out from behind a slope.

The massive inertia dragged this multi-ton behemoth across the ground, creating a deep trench. Several large trees collided, producing sharp cracking sounds, and crashed down. Tree crowns swept through the forest leaves, countless dry leaves were torn into scattered debris carried by grayish dust, spreading all around.

The fallen Fushan propped itself up with one arm; there was no time to stand up, its energy cannon on the left shoulder lit up suddenly. A white, oval-shaped energy bullet shot straight between the two small hills ahead.

"Boom!", amid the intense explosion and white light, a shabby Taixing mecha appeared into view.

It used its left leg on the hillock to leap up, like a low-flying hawk, avoiding the energy bullet. Then, amidst the exploding white light, it somersaulted in mid-air, lightning-fast charging towards the fallen Fushan.

It’s our mecha! The warriors’ eyes shone brightly with wild joy. Their hearts leapt intensely, almost ready to jump out their throats!

The frightened Fushan staggered, attempting to avoid Taixing’s fierce assault. But the Taixing was simply too fast. The warriors only felt their eyes blur, and the Taixing had already darted behind the Fushan.

Things were about to go wrong. It was clear the Jiepeng Mechanic was fighting desperately. In its stagger, the Fushan forced itself to turn, delivering an exceptionally sharp high-side kick backwards.

The kick was exceedingly tricky.

The airborn Taixing, just reaching its back, had expended its old energy without yet gathering new force; if this kick from Fushan landed, it would definitely result in serious damage!

Clearly, the Fushan’s mecha warrior was a battle-hardened veteran! He captured this opportunity with pinpoint precision!

The whip-like mechanical leg swept the Taixing, passing through its body......
