Chapter 777: Betting Odds [GT Ranking Bonus Chapter]
A few minutes passed, and soon, the identity checks and bone-age checks were done. FatelessPen nodded at the staff, thanking them for their time before he and his students left the chamber and entered back into the corridor. This time, they only walked forward, and the farther they walked, the louder the murmurs that reached their ears became.
Soon, through the dimly lit corridor, Asher could make out a space that led to an extremely bright area. Stepping through, Asher arrived at the center of the coliseum, his eyes brightening in pure awe as what he saw simply left him mesmerized.
The coliseum’s interior was literally designed for both comfort and spectacle. Over two million seats rose in massive tiers around the arena, each fitted with adaptive cushioning and illuminated by soft lights beneath every row. The entire stadium seemed fully climate-controlled, with advanced ventilation systems maintaining a comfortable temperature and fresh airflow throughout the venue. Powerful speakers were built into the structure, ensuring clear sound reached every spectator.
Above the coliseum’s center, countless light panels and holographic projectors illuminated the arena and displayed replays, statistics, and live footage on floating screens. Luxury viewing boxes occupied the upper levels, offering private lounges and unobstructed views through transparent energy glass.
Every part of the coliseum was engineered to provide maximum comfort, visibility, and immersion for its spectators.
The Thalvorn Empire had truly outdone itself.
Asher snapped out of his daze as the noise slammed into his ears like a thunderclap. This was a gathering of two million people; there was no Noble etiquette, just pure fervor and thirst for entertainment.
"THEY ARE HERE!!!!!!!" one of the spectators shouted at the top of his lungs.
"THE ZARETHORNE EMPIRE HAS FINALLY ARRIVED!!!" another practically screamed.
"THALVORN!!!!"
"ZARETHORNE!!!!"
"VELKARIN!!!!"
"VANDROSS!!!!"
Nobles, Commoners, Merchants, Adventurers, Mercenaries, it didn’t matter. They all screamed at the top of their lungs. The overlapping screams of over a million people literally shook the ground and air.
Every single student could feel the pressure descend upon their shoulders, their blood chilling. Yes, many of them wanted attention, and now they got it... but this wasn’t exactly the type of attention they wanted. Many couldn’t help but grit their teeth and steel their bodies as they felt the sound, the words, the echoes, everything blasting into them.
One would ask how some poor Commoners could afford seats at such a live event. The answer was simple: the Overlord, Cynthia, had been merciful and conducted a lottery for the Commoners, allowing two hundred thousand Commoners, half from the Inner Rings and half from the Outer Rings, to attend this Inter-Empire Competition for free.
Asher stood unbothered. His purple eyes flickered to the side, and there he could see the students of the other Empires standing. Each Academy had separated itself from the others as though they were mortal enemies. No one knew if it would be team-based or individual-based.
The moment the structure’s clock struck 9 a.m. sharp, the lights dimmed out. People immediately sensed that the show was about to begin, and with that, they began to rumble and shout even more.
From above, two people capable of defying gravity floated in midair as they both held microphones in their hands. One was a man with black hair and black eyes, while the other was a woman with pink hair and red eyes.
"Travelers from various Empires who have crossed the seas and traveled the land to witness this moment, I ask you all a single question," the woman spoke first, her voice a bit high-pitched, before she immediately screamed into her microphone, "ARE YOU FUCKING READY FOR THIS?????"
"WE FUCKING ARE!!!"
The response was immediate. The air was electric and infectious.
The male commentator spoke next. "I don’t think you are. My partner has asked," his tone rising, "ARE YOU READY TO FEAST YOUR EYES? ARE YOU READY TO FUCKING RUMBLE????"
"FUCKING LOCKED IN!!!!"
"Then let’s get this madness started," the female commentator spoke. "The two of us will be your hosts for this section of the Inter-Empire Competition, and my name is AlyxAtlas, but you can refer to me as Atlas for short, and I’m from the Vandross Empire," she introduced herself.
"And I am your co-host. I’m called Thomasinho from the Zarethorne Empire," Thomasinho stated, his voice high.
Atlas spoke next. "As everyone already knows, the betting function is already activated. You can splurge your money. You don’t need to wait for every battle. You can skip all of this and bet on which Empire will be the winner of this round’s Inter-Empire Competition. You can skip all of this and bet on which student will win this round’s Inter-Empire Competition," her voice pitched higher, her tone pushing people to begin betting immediately.
"BELIEVE IN YOUR GENIUSES!!! BELIEVE IN YOUR EMPIRES!!!" he shouted into the microphone. "And I hope you sold your houses, I hope you sold that land. If you don’t have any, sell an organ. This is a once-in-a-lifetime chance to become rich through the betting pool!" he urged.
And with that, both AlyxAtlas and Thomasinho smirked and stayed silent, giving the audience a minute to place their bets.
As they had said earlier, the betting organization had already given odds and listed the names of people expected to win the competition before the event began. To many, it was best to lock in their bets now because as the competition went on, the odds would likely reduce the more these geniuses displayed their true strength. After all, the betting organization wasn’t running a charity and was also trying to make money.
Various heads-up displays appeared before everyone as they all began to bet, the odds appearing before their very eyes.

Many people immediately locked their money onto Arianna Haellight without even blinking or hesitating. Obviously, they didn’t stake everything, as bets would be updated based on current matches and who would win during a particular live combat at any given moment.
People poured their coins onto a small platform before them. A circle lit up, then the coins vanished, acknowledging their stake and showing them their potential winnings.
Needless to say, Azaron and Malrik, who were in the luxury viewing boxes, simply smirked and each immediately staked fifty million platinum coins on Asher’s name without even hesitating. They were about to bleed this betting organization dry until it declared bankruptcy.
Baron Rivelle, Baron Whale, and Baron Canestane stared into each other’s eyes, gave mischievous smiles, and also locked onto Asher’s name, the trio ignoring Arianna Haellight as though she didn’t even exist.
Kimberley also bet on Arianna, but skillfully placed another bet on Asher’s name as well.
The odds for every Empire appeared too.

Zarethorne Empire

Everyone placed their bets yet again.
Those from the Zarethorne Empire who knew of Asher’s ridiculous talent could only see this betting company as a cash cow as they placed bets on the Zarethorne Empire to win.
Azaron placed twenty million platinum coins without a blink. As a Duke, he was simply too rich. Malrik could only place a million platinum coins, as he wasn’t as wealthy as his father, after all he had already put up fifty million platinum coins earlier, money even Barons didn’t have.
As for Azazel, who was sitting with them, he only laughed like a fool as he went all in on his daughter, betting millions on her without a blink. Too bad that after this Inter-Empire Competition, Azazel Haellight, the Black Disaster might begin to live like the Commoner he truly was.
