Chapter 529: Heading Out

It was still early, far too early in fact. The sun hadn’t even risen over the horizon when Laz woke from his slumber. Feeling soft yet firm flesh all around him, Laz knew he couldn’t let himself get distracted again. As such, he bent space only slightly, enough to allow him to appear on the floor a mere few feet from where he was on the bed. Looking over to the extra large bed that occupied the bed room, Laz couldn’t help but want to crawl back onto it’s soft cover and slip between the warm embrace of the wonder women who had gathered here. While many of them had found some sort of covering, many of them were still bare, allowing the moonlight to show the miraculous curves and supple flesh each one of them possessed.

But he knew he couldn’t. Instead, Laz simply waved his hand in the air and caused a rune to form that then floated to the bedside table before hovering there, awaiting one to simply touch it to activate it.

Laz then made for the shower and cleaned himself up before going downstairs and exiting out of the front of the building. With one last look towards the penthouse, Laz turned around and began to walk, not noticing that many stories above, a figure was looking at him from the railing of the balcony.

Kennedy looked down at him with a smile, her naked body on display for anyone foolish enough to try getting a look, for such an action would cause most people to lose their minds, as is one of the innate powers of a spirit fox.

"I’ll see you again soon lover. Until then, I’ll take good care of all of these little sisters for you, but you had better hurry back. I don’t like being lonely," Kennedy said in barely a whisper as her eyes were still fixed on his back as continued to walk.

Just as he was about to turn the corner and disappear from her sight, Laz turned around and look straight at her, brought his hand to his mouth and blew her a kiss before continuing on.

Kennedy stood there shocked for a moment before she began to laugh, wondering why she had never considered that if she could see him from all this distance, why he wouldn’t be able to see her. She then turned away from the railing and went back inside, sliding her arms around Death’s smooth waste as the other girl snuggled into her more, feeling her warmth.

No one else would wake up for several hours and it wasn’t until they were going to start the day that they noticed Laz was nowhere to be found.

"He left before the sun came up, starting on his journey into the desert," Kennedy said, sipping her coffee.

"But he never even said goodbye?" Celes asked, blankly staring at her own mug.

"If he had to face each of us, do you think he would be able to leave? I wouldn’t have let him go again, that’s for sure," Malene said, happily enjoying her juice.

"She’s right. His heart is here with us so how could it be so easy to leave?" Leona commented, coffee in one hand and a protein shake in another.

"Are those even helpful?" War asked, noticing the protein shake and wondering if it could even help their bodies anymore.

"It’s something our deal lover left for us. The grinded protein from some high level demon beasts he killed down in Texas. He left us both some along with a bit for any of the other girls who want to give it a try. It’s very nourishing for the body to be sure," Leona said, passing the glass over for War to have a taste.

"High level demon beast protein shakes huh? Interesting.." Kennedy said, playing around with something in her mind.

"Oh. Another business idea?" Ruby asked, sitting next to Kennedy. Besides Kennedy, Ruby was the most inclined towards business related matters. Both girls had their own strengths when it came to this kind of thing and worked well together.

"Of course. I’m sure you’re already thinking the same thing?" Kennedy asked her.

"Now I am. It’s kind of funny how many business ideas that man has and never even considers it as such. Especially in the supplement market," Ruby said, grabbing some of the powder to examine it.

"Let’s get it to the labs to break it down. We might even be able to improve it. And considering that their is no good way to dispose of the bodies of those creatures as normal people can’t even eat them, this might be a good chance for us. Even better if we can turn it into something normal people can consume to improve their bodies," Kennedy commented while looking over at Nora. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝙬𝙚𝓫𝒏𝓸𝓿𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝙤𝓶

"I don’t see why not," Nora answered.

"But... why did he go alone?" Jill asked, wondering how everyone was so good with him just leaving. She hadn’t wanted to be apart from him, but now she was enjoying her time with Lyssa, Famine, and Pestilence so she didn’t feel as bad after knowing he had left without her.

"Because that’s what he does. It would be easy to just enjoy this kind of life day in and day out, but doing so would dull our resolve and cause us to become useless. It’s only when we have something worth fighting for that we can continue on. He knows that and that’s why he never sticks around. Well... one of the reasons. Either way, we all have our own things to do now, including you. So don’t worry, you will see him again soon," Kennedy said, bringing out her laptop.

"Hey, what’s this? Lyssa said, bring out the rune Laz had laid on the nightstand. It seemed to have vanished after Laz left but only appeared once everyone was out of bed. Lyssa had touched it and found it to be solid and brought it out with her.

"It’s a rune... that’s kind of interesting though. It’s like it had been frozen upon creation. I wonder what it does?" Celes said, waving Lyssa over to get a closer look at it. Once both Lyssa’s and Celes hands had touched it, it rune lit up and flew up into the air, directly at the center of the table.

"Good morning my loves. I know that vanishing without so much as a word might leave a few of you upset, I hope the ones who understand can explain why I had to do it. I’m heading out to Nevada to take a look at that place you wanted me to go so at least this time you know where I will be. I will miss each and every one of you while I am gone, so much so that I wish I didn’t have to leave. But if there is ever going to be a day when we can all peacefully settle down and raise some kids, it can only be brought about by our own hands. I know each of you has different thoughts on what you want for the future, but to be strong enough to make that happen, I can’t give up now. I’m proud of everyone’s growth as well and I hope you all will keep going and give me more surprises in the future. I’ll get in touch with the local branch once I get into Vegas before heading out. I do love each of you very much. Kennedy, Malene, Leona, Ruby, Celes, Nora, Death, War, Pestilence, Famine, Lyssa and Jill. Take care of yourselves and take care of one another. And Vivi... don’t be sleeping all day, or you’ll never grow up. Ha ha ha ha ha.... Alright. That’s enough for me. See you all soon, my loves." Laz’s voice disappeared and the rune vanished, leaving each of the girls with a warm feeling. Perhaps the message was to them as a whole, but each one of them felt that there was gentle caress coming from Laz as he spoke, like he was holding them close and rubbing their heads while whispering in their ears. And that wasn’t just their imaginations either, but a part of the rune Laz had set up.

"Kids?"

"He wants... to have... kids?" War and Leona, the two strongest fighters, both blushed at these words coming from their man. Despite that, the smile on their faces gave them away.

"Can’t believe that’s all it took to make these two act like little school girls," Ruby said in false mockery.

"WHO ASKED YOU?" They both yelled back at Ruby at the same time, completely in sync which caused them to be more embarrassed.

Everyone else just laughed, enjoying the mood.

"Don’t worry so much. You twelve have already bonded with him, so I doubt he will be bringing back more women. Besides, your final boss with him isn’t big sis Kennedy anyway," Vivi said, stirring from her slumber and jumping on the table to drink from her own cup of coffee.

"What do you mean?" Lyssa asked first.

"His master. She’s the one who has approved of all of you. If not for that, none of you would have gotten that mark that he left. Right now, the tree binds the Asura moon... but one day the moon will overtake the great tree. When that happens... well... Then you will truly know what it’s like to be his queens," Vivi said turning into her human form.

Strangely, she looked different than she had a few days ago. Her body wasn’t any taller, but her shimmering black hair with traces of starlight in it was now down to her lower back while her ears had more of a point to them. Besides that, her body now seemed to have a bit more curvature, far different from the flat and skinny look she had before.

The ones who had known her the longest, Malene and Kennedy, were incredibly shocked by the changes. While they wanted to asked, the didn’t and instead only smiled. It was clear she was starting to grow up.

"His master? Like Maya?" Jill asked, clearly the newest and therefore the least knowledgeable.

"Who’s Maya?" Ruby asked, turning her gaze to the younger girl. Jill then began to describe in detail what she knew about what had happened in the pocket dimension.

By the time she was done though, there was a strange silence around the table.

"So... he fucked a tree?" Pestilence said, voicing everyone’s thoughts.

"I think it’s technically a tree’s avatar. Like a human representation of her spirit," Jill said, remembering what she had heard from the attendants.

"But it’s the spirit of a tree, right? So he... he fucked a tree?" Pestilence continued.

"Well... I guess? Yeah?" Jill said, not having thought about it before.

"Then again, he also fucked a elven queen, her daughter and the head priestess. But why don’t I feel very hung up about that?" Famine asked.

"Well... it’s our man. He’s connected to us. So... it’s a bit different. They will never have what we have with him. But still..." Ruby explained, trying to voice her thoughts.

"Yeah... a ten thousand year old tree goddess..."

"That’s just..."

Although Laz had left, he didn’t realize that the next time he made an appearance, he would have a lot of explaining to do...

A whole lot of explaining.
