Chapter 233: Chapter 233: Vicious Woman
Song Qingya watched her coldly, the corners of her lips curling into a scornful smile.
"You know better than anyone if I’m falsely accusing you. If you really dropped the pillow by accident, why did you stumble back three steps in fright when you saw us come in, your hands trembling? If you have a clear conscience, why did you shrink back?"
"And another thing—Dean Yuan. Just a moment ago, his heart monitor suddenly showed severe fluctuations, his blood pressure plummeted, and his breathing became erratic. All of this happened right after you changed his nutritional IV bag! Is such perfect timing really a coincidence? With the evidence stacked against you, are you still going to deny it? Still going to play innocent?"
"From this moment on, you are not to go anywhere near Dean Yuan’s room without my express permission. Your work privileges are temporarily suspended. If you have something to say, you can wait until the hospital’s disciplinary committee has concluded its investigation."
Yang Meiling’s face instantly went deathly pale.
She turned her head and stared straight at Fei Jin, her eyes filled with disbelief.
"Brother Ajin... I didn’t do it! How could I possibly harm Dean Yuan? He’s my mentor, the person I respect most at this hospital! Why don’t you believe me? Why are you only listening to her side of the story? In your heart, am I really such a terrible person? I... You know how I feel about you, don’t you?"
Before she could finish, large tears began to roll uncontrollably down her cheeks.
Song Qingya shot her a cold glance. Watching her produce a flood of tears in the blink of an eye, she felt not a single shred of pity.
She had just opened her mouth to tell Fei Jin to call security and get the situation under control.
Just then, a furious roar came from the doorway of the hospital room.
"Song Qingya! Are you here stirring up trouble again?!"
Mrs. Yuan was standing in the doorway.
Her finger was pointed straight at Song Qingya, its tip trembling, her eyes filled with hatred.
Song Qingya met her glare without even blinking.
"Mrs. Yuan, I am not trying to stir up trouble. A moment ago, Ajin and I saw Doctor Yang with our own eyes, holding a pillow and about to press it down on Dean Yuan’s face."
The air instantly froze.
Hearing this, Yang Meiling’s heart sank.
She grabbed Mrs. Yuan’s arm.
"Aunt Yuan! You’re back! Dean Song has it all wrong! I swear, I just saw the pillow had fallen and wanted to pick it up for him! She started yelling the moment she came in... How could I do something like that! Auntie, you have to believe me!"
When Mrs. Yuan heard this, her mind was thrown into turmoil.
Her brow furrowed, and her gaze darted between Song Qingya, Fei Jin, and Yang Meiling.
"What the hell is going on? You say she was trying to kill him, and she says she was picking something up! Do I look blind to you? All of you standing here... do you take me for a fool you can just mess with?!"
Seeing that Mrs. Yuan was about to be swayed, Fei Jin spoke up, his voice low and steady.
"Mrs. Yuan, please calm down. This is what happened."
He paused, his calm gaze sweeping over the scene.
"Qingya and I had just reached the door when we saw Doctor Yang standing by the bed, her hands gripping the edges of the pillow and pressing down. She was moving quickly and with great force."
Yang Meiling pressed her lips together tightly, her face growing even paler.
After hearing Fei Jin’s words, Mrs. Yuan’s expression softened slightly.
She frowned in thought for a moment, the anger in her eyes lessening a little.
After all, Fei Jin was a Group Leader—a man of high status. He was always level-headed and never made baseless accusations.
His word had always been reliable; he wasn’t the type to twist the truth just to back up his wife.
’Besides, he saw this with his own eyes. There’s no reason for him to lie...’
Yang Meiling had sharp eyes and immediately noticed that Mrs. Yuan was beginning to waver.
Her heart sank, but then she steeled herself with sudden resolve.
"Aunt Yuan! Please, you can’t believe them!"
With a THUD, she fell to her knees, clinging tightly to Mrs. Yuan’s legs.
"They’re husband and wife, of course they’re going to stick together! Song Qingya must have planned this from the start to harm Dean Yuan! Now that she was about to be exposed, she saw I was here and is desperately trying to frame me to take the fall! She’s the Vice Dean, powerful and influential—who’s going to believe anything I say? But Auntie, you can’t let her get away with framing a good person!"
"Just now, she secretly slipped me a syringe and told me to give Dean Yuan an injection when you weren’t looking, claiming it would help his condition. I refused because it was against regulations, and she’s held a grudge ever since! Now she’s setting this trap to frame me! Aunt Yuan, she just wants to crush everyone who gets in her way! Think about it—has there been a single day of peace since she arrived at this hospital?"
After hearing this torrent of shameless accusations, Song Qingya almost laughed out loud.
’Does this woman even need a draft to spin such lies?’
Her indifferent gaze swept over Yang Meiling’s pretentious face before landing on Mrs. Yuan’s face, which was flushed red with agitation.
Song Qingya felt a wave of disgust.
But Fei Jin’s expression turned dark in an instant.
"Yang Meiling! Shut your mouth!"
"I know what kind of person Qingya is better than anyone! Stop your scheming! If you dare say another bad word about her, don’t blame me for what happens next!"
He took a few steps forward, shielding Song Qingya.
However, the more he stood up for Song Qingya, the more it looked to Mrs. Yuan like he had been completely bewitched by her.
She was already prejudiced against Song Qingya, always feeling that this young woman was cunning and overly ambitious.
Now, seeing Fei Jin defend her so fiercely with her own eyes, that sliver of suspicion instantly hardened into certainty.
Her preconceived notions were already in place; now she was dead set on the idea that Song Qingya had malicious intentions.
"See! Look at that!"
Mrs. Yuan pointed a trembling finger at Song Qingya.
"Even Ajin has been put under her spell! He’s usually such a sharp kid, and now he’s yelling at his elders for an outsider!"
"She’s using your Fei Family’s influence!"
Mrs. Yuan’s voice rose, her emotions so high that her voice was on the verge of cracking.
"The evidence is right in front of us! She wants to poison Old Yuan to seize power for herself! How can you protect such a venomous woman?!"
"Song Qingya! Get out! Get out right now! Our hospital has no place for a vicious, unscrupulous person like you!"
The atmosphere in the room froze once again.
Song Qingya watched her, her eyes cold and calm.
After a moment, she glanced at Yang Meiling, who was still playing the victim.
"Mrs. Yuan, you can be careless with what you eat, but not with what you say."
Song Qingya finally spoke, her voice clear and cold, emphasizing each word.
"I am not afraid of an investigation into something I didn’t do."
"There are surveillance cameras in the hospital corridors and in my office. The truth will come out once the IV tube, needle, and solution that I just removed are sent for testing."
"As for my position as Dean, it was appointed by the administration. It can’t be revoked just because you shout about it."
"Furthermore, Dean Yuan is critically ill. If you truly care about him, you should be quiet instead of crying and shouting in here, interfering with his treatment and delaying emergency care."
"Mrs. Yuan!"
Fei Jin’s voice was grave.
"Qingya earned her position as Dean through her own merit. It’s not a job that can be taken away by just anyone! I trust her character, and I trust her professional skills!"
Mrs. Yuan wasn’t listening at all; in fact, she became even more agitated.
"I think you’ve lost your mind!"
Mrs. Yuan glared at Fei Jin, her eyes filled with both disappointment and accusation.
"Ajin, wake up! Don’t be fooled by her! What does this woman know besides how to put on an act? Medical skills? More like black magic, I’d say! She’s the one who harmed Old Yuan! Listen to your Aunt Yuan, I’m not wrong about this!"
