Chapter 96: Blueprint
’Does it only work during diplomatic meetings, or every time I sit on the throne? Probably only during diplomatic work, but what could be considered as diplomatic work,’ Dhruv began to ponder the scenarios where this enchantment would be in its fullest effect.
’There isn’t any point in thinking about this right now,’ he thought, and with that, he closed the status window of the throne.
Sitting on the throne like a king, he began to look around him and noticed that everyone on the island was just like him and they were also checking their rewards.
’So, I’m the only one who didn’t get a weapon or armor,’ he thought, there was a hint of disappointment in his voice when he saw that almost everyone else had a weapon in their hands or armor on their bodies. However, he couldn’t deny that he was happy with his reward as well.
Dhruv noticed that Alaric had received a dagger and a thin full-body suit that could be attached to his skin, allowing him to endure the sun for more than five minutes at one time. It wouldn’t completely remove the effect of the sun on him, but it would certainly improve his endurance.
Azarex received a staff and a cloth armor, both of which enhanced his magical capacity.
After observing their happy expressions, Dhruv suddenly had a thought, ’maybe the chest reward wasn’t entirely based on luck, and it provided the item that it believed the user needed at that particular moment.’
Dhruv was on the edge of confirming this theory of his when a question suddenly popped into his mind: Then why did I get this throne?
’Is it because I don’t need any weapon or armor,’ Dhruv theorized and felt a bit happier when he concluded that the cosmos believed he didn’t require a weapon or armor.
’No, that wouldn’t be the case,’ he quickly denied this theory of his when he remembered what had happened the last time he had such a thought. He had nearly buried two feet deep in the ground.
Putting those thoughts aside, Dhruv picked up his second reward, which was a round folded piece of paper. As he began to unfold the paper, he soon realized that the more he unfolded it, the more pieces of paper were emerging from it. It seemed like there was an infinite number of papers folded within it. Not wanting to create a mess, he promptly stopped unfolding the paper and examined its contents.
Dhruv looked at the paper and discovered various diagrams with detailed measurements of their dimensions as if the content on the paper was the blueprint for something. He swiftly closed the paper to keep its contents hidden from others and had a sudden thought in his mind.
"Don’t... Don’t tell me it is... it’s the blueprint of my castle," Dhruv thought when he remembered the blueprint had a drawing of something like a building.
Dhruv had the sudden urge to unfold the blueprint entirely and looked at it closely but he decided against it as he knew that he was going to mess it up somehow. Recognizing that Alaric was the best person to entrust with the paper’s safety, he quickly called him telepathically...
"Yes, master," Alaric said as he appeared near Dhruv just a second later.
"You had previously mentioned that you could store items in your shadow, right," Dhruv asked.
"Yes, master, I can store the item in my shadow, but I can only do it for a day. After that, it would begin to get corrupted," Alaric explained.
"Oh!" Dhruv said with a disappointed look.
"But there is a way, master. If I keep the item in the shadow for 20 hours and then let it rest in the real world for 5 hours then there wouldn’t be any problem with corruption and we can repeat this process infinitely." Alaric explained.
"Then do that with this," Dhruv said as he handed the blueprint to Alaric. After receiving the blueprint, Alaric promptly covered it with a layer of shadow and allowed it to slip into the shadow.
While Alaric was doing his work, Dhruv thought, ’I have to find someone who can build this castle for me, but will I be able to find anyone capable of doing that? I have to; I can’t just let that blueprint collect dust. If I have to, I will just gather all the top architects and merge them to create a mega one. Yes, I would do that.’ Dhruv quickly formed a plan on how he could accomplish this task, he knew it wasn’t going to be easy but he wasn’t someone to give up either.
’But let’s pause all of this until we discover what the third quest will be. Speaking of the third quest, where is Lyra?’ Wanting to find Lyra he scanned the island and noticed that she was engaged in a conversation with her tribe members about something.
The tribe members’ loyalty toward her sure is as powerful as me and the trio.’ Dhruv thought and mused over the fact, he knew he just had to take care of the priestess and the rest would come along with her willingly.
Dhruv suddenly recalled something he needed to discuss with Lyra, so he instructed Alaric to send a message to her, asking her to meet with him when she had some free time.
After a while, Lyra had finished her conversation with the tribe members and was walking towards Dhruv, pondering, ’What could his majesty want to talk to me about?’
Before she could complete her thoughts, she reached Dhruv and found out that he was practicing his magic. She knew this because of the sound his spells were producing.
She didn’t immediately disturb him and began to wait when his practice would end. Thala who was beside her was also silent and didn’t speak a word.
’His majesty sure knows how to cast advanced spells.’ Thala thought and admired as he looked at Dhruv who was casting his advanced spells one after another.
