Chapter 85: Volume 1 Epilogue
Dear Readers,
I am deeply grateful for the incredible support and enthusiasm you have shown for Born in Apocalypse thus far, even without many comments *Sob Sob*. But It has been an incredible journey nonetheless, and your support has made it all the more meaningful.
Today, I am thrilled to announce that we have reached a significant milestone, with Chapter 84 we have ended the first volume [Evolution] of our story.
Coming to the name of the volume, I thought of many flashy names but had to decide on this simple yet perfect one that fit the story too well. You would have already guessed where the name of the volume comes from... Yes! It is to reflect how Dhruv had evolved throughout the first volume not just physically but mentally as well.
Firstly I want to apologize for my messy upload schedule and my bad writing skills.
For the bad schedule, I don’t want to make an excuse but I’m a student, and you how that goes right? I don’t think I have to elaborate any further than this...
*Nervous chuckle*
For my poor writing skills, this is my first novel which I really have an outline for and will finish. As a newbie author, I’m still learning and trying to improve myself every day. Even though I try to keep it minimum there could be some mistakes in the Chapters, so if you come across any please mind sharing it with me through comment or Discord.
Anyway, I have made a list of questions you guys might have about the story.
[Q] Where is the kingdom/world-building?
[A] The upcoming volume will be mainly focused on this aspect. I haven’t started it yet because I want to properly explain things and set the character well, So, I don’t have to explain how a spell works in the middle of a meeting.
Q] Where is romance?
A] I don’t want to spoil the fun for you guys so I would just say there’s going to be romance in the story.
Maybe the heroine will be introduced in this volume... Or, Maybe not..
*Hahhahahha*
Q] Why did this feel familiar with the novel Chrysalis by RinoZ?
A] Because it is inspired by it in some way. By the way, if you haven’t read it yet, you should probably check it out, It is a great novel.
FOR THE COLONY.
I think these would cover the gist of it...
Before we finish this Chapter I want to mention something about Dhruv’s character in the novel.
As you would have probably guessed from his actions he is anything but a good guy, we can put him in the anti-hero category. I want to be clear anti hero doesn’t mean he would just kill anyone without any reason and of course, he wouldn’t forgive either.

Tier 7: Level 0 to Level 360
Note: After every evolution, the Level will go back to zero.
~ Monsters of Beasts
Instead of Level, Monster has a different system based on its core. After every evolution, the core of the monster will evolve to store more energy so they have to almost accumulate double energy from the previous tier.
As for how monster get their skill points for Buying or upgrading the skills.
The answer is simple...
If a monster is at Tier 1 then he would get 1 skill point every 20% of their core filled. If at Tier 2 then 1 skill point every 10%. Humans and monsters will get the same amount of skill points for each Tiers.
Monsters have another advantage to themselves and that is they can mutate their body part with the help of essence point. Essence points could be accumulated through eating.
~ Evolution rank

Just for the word count...
*Wink*
The most practical changes happened in Vexar. He wasn’t your cute little demon anymore... No, now he truly looks like a demon from the the hell. He was almost at Dhruv’s height, his hair almost looked like it was on fire. His horn fully got out from his skull giving a truly dangerous vibe to his whole personality
Finally after getting a hint from the trio Dhruv managed to remember that he was also supposed to absorb cores. After that he finally came to his senses and began to absorb core and remembered to make it a part of his routine.
Dhruv was slightly disappointed by the fact that there aren’t many interesting things happening with him due to absorbing the core.
What wasn’t disappointing was the functions the trio had gained after the evolution. They can now change into human forms but haven’t changed into that form yet. To say it simply they were a bit uncomfortable changing themselves.
Even though he was excited to see the new version of the trio he didn’t force any of them to do it. One thing Dhruv had vowed that he wasn’t going to force anything on the trio, and they were free to act on their own.

Dhruv stood on the pristine shores of the island, the gentle waves of the turquoise ocean lapping at his feet. The salty breeze tousled his pure white hair as he gazed out at the horizon, a contemplative look in his eyes.
With the reflection of the city in his eyes he began to realise something.
With some free time in his hand he couldn’t help but marvel at how far he had come. It was a journey that had taken him from the depths of despair to where he is now.
Dhruv remembered how he had started with nothing, literally losing everything he held dear. His life had crumbled like a house of cards, leaving him with nothing but shattered dreams and a broken soul.
But as he stood there, the sand between his toes, he couldn’t help but smile. For he had risen from those ashes, stronger and more determined than ever before. He was no longer the weakest of them all; he had evolved himself into one of the strongest men in the entire world.
Dhruv’s mind drifted back to the days when the Cosmic evolution had begun and he became one of the chosen ones. That was the precise moment his life transformed, how he had found the power to control the elements, to bend reality to his will.
It was as if the cosmos itself had conspired to bestow upon him the tools to shape his destiny.
The island around him bore witness to his newfound powers. Dead corpses littered everywhere, showing their destiny If anyone were to wish him harm anymore. The very air seemed charged with power, a testament to Dhruv’s abilities.
But it wasn’t just his powers that had transformed his life. Dhruv had also found something he had never expected—a family. He had gone from being a lonely powerful soul, adrift in the world, to having three loyal and devoted subordinates who is and will stood by his side through thick and thin.
There was Alaric, the eldest of the three, protecting him and his brothers from the moment he was born. Their bond was unbreakable, like a light and shadow. Alaric unwavering loyalty and unwavering support is something he can boast about.
Then there was Azarex, the gentle skeleton whose strength lies in his kind heart. Azarex was the one man army of the gang needed. He is always ready to stood on the frontline when they needed it without any rest in between.
And finally there was Vexar the energetic swordsman they didn’t know they needed the most. His swordsmanship and now magical expertise had been invaluable in unlocking the full potential of the gang’s full powers.
Dhruv’s heart swelled with gratitude as he thought of his three companions. In just five days they became more than just subordinates; they were his family. They had shared his triumphs and his failures, his joys and his sorrows. Together, they had faced down formidable foes, and celebrated moments of sheer joy.
With a deep sense of contentment, Dhruv turned away from the ocean and walked back toward the heart of his island. There was work to be done, adventures to be had, and a future that held endless possibilities. But in this moment, he allowed himself to bask in the warmth of his accomplishments and the knowledge that he was exactly where he was meant to be.
