Chapter 81: Mutation

’Of course, I want a guide’ With this thought in his mind he clicked on the yes button. The moment he clicked on it the important information about how to use the mutation began to seep into his brain.

A few minutes later he let out a whisper...

"Interesting, this is simpler than I thought" he smiled after learning that mutation isn’t that complicated stuff and he could do it pretty easily without messing up anything. 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎

Smiling Dhruv opened the status once again to look at the new addition on the status of his..

There just below the section for the spell he found the mutation section and just below that was the indicator where how much essence point he had would be shown.

On the mutation list, he found a total of eight mutable body parts and all of them were +0 at this instance. All of them were obviously the parts he either purchased or the parts that he had made mutable during the evolution.

Looking at the 5 essence points he began to ponder which of the body should he mutate first. Knowing that he didn’t have plenty of essence points to spare he packed the mana veins as the first body part to mutate.

After learning from the guide he knew there wasn’t going to be that much improvement to the part until it reached +5. That was also one of the prime reasons why he chose mana veins. As it is the expensive and probably the most important part of his body he obviously wants to unlock its maximum potential as soon as possible.

With these thoughts in his mind he clicked in the mana vein, the moment he clicked on it a confirmation notification presented itself in front of him...

[Do you want to spend 1 essence point on Mana Veins]

[Yes/No]

Nodding, he clicked the "yes" button, and just like that one of his essence points got deducted from his list. With one point gone, he noticed that before, at the end of the Mana vein, it showed +0, but after spending the essence point, it changed to +1 meaning the mutation has been a success.

After mutating the veins, he tried to sense if there was any change in his body. After calming himself, he felt that there had been an improvement in the flow of his mana, but it was on a very small scale. It was so subtle that he wouldn’t have even noticed it if he didn’t have the mana sensitivity skill.

Deciding to spend the rest of the essence on the mana vein as well, he clicked on it once again.

[Do you want to spend 2 essence points on Mana vein.]

Once again, he confirmed, and the same process repeated itself. Dhruv had to halt his mutations at this point since he only had 2 points left, and the next mutation would cost 3 points.

Looking at the insufficient essence points, he considered eating again to gain more essence points. Dhruv was about to take another bite from the cone when he realized that he was already half full due to the one bite ha had previously. This meant that the next bite would be his last, providing him with only 5 essence points, which wouldn’t be enough to reach +5.

Half-heartedly, Dhruv took another bite, and the same thing happened again; he gained another 5 essence points and, to his lack of surprise, he found himself full at the same time.

Dhruv was so full that he knew he wouldn’t be able to take another bite. Showing mercy on his stomach, he decided not to take the risk.

’I should probably make my stomach mutable in the next evolution’ Dhruv made a mental note to do this during the next evolution of his so he can eat more at one time.

He spent all 7 of his essence points on the mana vein elevating it to +4. With all the work done, he closed the status screen and began to ponder what to do next.

After thinking for a while Dhruv found what he was going to do in this free time. He was going to try and master the new Multiply skill of his.

Dhruv knew this [Multiply] is and going to be one of his most powerful skills if he only managed to grasp the real potential behind it. As it was a support-type skill there wasn’t a limit on whom he could use the skill or not. He could use this skill any and every time he wished to. That’s why he was eager to learn this before putting his hand on learning another spell.

Why this was soo powerful one may ask...

The reason this skill was so powerful was that it allowed you to multiply any spell. For example, if there were four enemies in front of you and you didn’t have enough time to cast four different spells, no problem. Just cast one spell and make it multiply two times, and boom, you’ve got four spells in the time it would take to cast one.

This wasn’t this simple and one has to very careful during the process...

To successfully multiply any spell, Dhruv first had to create the runes for the Multiply skill, which he had learned how to make after acquiring the skill.

During the spell casting, alongside creating the spell, he had to inscribe the Multiply runes. When both runes and blueprint became stable, he had to cast the spell in a way that it passed through the Multiply runes. If this process was executed perfectly, one spell would magically transform into two.

Not exactly magically, as he would have to pay 100% mana for that second spell as well. Dhruv hadn’t even been able to complete the first step, so he knew he had a very long way to go.
