Chapter 70: Unbeatable

On one side of the frozen grass, a horde of undead had grouped up. Among them were goblins, and spiders, and with the greatest number were Crystallce. They stood motionless, awaiting their command.

The moment they gathered together, they received their orders. The command they were given was simple: kill their opponents or die trying.

Across the field, a group of five crystallce was traveling the field. They had even decided to make their entry grand as on top of the grass they had laid a sheet of ice.

An eerie silence hung over the dome before it was disrupted by the rumbling sound of the ground. Hundreds of undead monsters started advancing toward the group, closing the gap between them with each passing moment.

The group didn’t hesitate and continued their advance despite being faced with the terrifying onslaught of hundreds of undead. As if they knew they were against the foe who didn’t have the capabilities to think on their own.

A member of the group stepped forward, opening its mouth and releasing a gust of misty wind. The wind traveled for a bit before it touched the frontline. As soon as any undead came into contact with the misty wind, they froze in place, becoming an ice statue.

"Cracks" "Crack" "Crac.." "..."

Cracks began to appear on the statue. The wind wasn’t particularly strong, so the monster was on the verge of breaking free from it. However, suddenly, a rain of ice spears descended upon them, striking down the front line of the monsters. The rain of spears was increasing the number of its victims until ice shields were raised by the undead Crystallce.

The undead didn’t shy in their attacks either and launched the rains of venom and ice spears.

Undeads weren’t the only ones equipped with the defensive spell. The moment they fired their attacks multiple shields meteorized and shielded the group from all sides.

A few goblin’s undead increased their speed and got close to the shield so they could attack in the form of melee as the long-range attack didn’t work on them.

Obviously, they weren’t the ones who came up with the idea. Azarex had commanded them, yet crystallce seemed to be one step ahead of him.

They emerged from the shield when the ariel attack ceased. The ones who had gone behind the shield and those who emerged from it looked totally different. The ones who emerged from the shield were dressed as proper warriors, adorned in armor and wielding swords and spears, while two of them remained as they were before.

Because Azarex was controlling them, they took goblins by surprise and launched a merciless assault. In front of their attack, goblins didn’t last even ten seconds, as they were swiftly sliced and cut down by the attackers.

While three of them engaged in melee combat, the remaining two held their ground as defenders, protecting the group from any potential aerial attacks.

After a few minutes of battle, the only ones left on the field were crystallce, the rest were all dead. The golem was also on the verge of losing his grasp over the shield.

The undead Crystallce, however, proved to be a formidable challenge to the group. As beings who were made out of ice themselves, their bodies were nearly impervious to the group’s ice magic, and it was the same vice versa.

Azarex tried a different strategy, instead of a sharp attack he was going to try attacking the group with a blunt attack. Massive ice fists began to form and launched toward the group. The group dodged the attack elegantly and the fists slammed into the ground, sending shockwaves through the frozen earth.

Sensing that their attack wasn’t doing enough damage, one of the group members began casting a spell. This time it took it a few more seconds to prepare this attack, after seeing the result it knew it was worth it...

The crystalllce had employed the same method Dhruv was using when casting the enhanced metal bullet. And the result was even better than the Dhruv bullet. The enhanced spear flew at a tremendous speed and destroyed the undead along with its core, finally killing it.

As the battle raged on, the Crystallce demonstrated their mastery over ice magic so perfectly that the trio was in awe. They conjured freezing blizzards that enveloped the undead, encasing them in ice prisons, and then blasting them with enhanced spears. Walls of solid ice rose from the ground when they themselves were on the receiving end.

In the midst of the chaos, suddenly one of the Crystallce conjured majestic wings made out of ice and began flying in the limited space of the dome.

With a majestic sweep of its wings, it summoned a colossal ice storm that descended upon the battlefield. The biting winds and freezing temperatures turned the entire area into a frozen wasteland, freezing undead in their tracks.

The prison didn’t last long, but making them their prisoner wasn’t the plan either. Slaughter had started the moment they got imprisoned by the other four members of the group.

"Crack"

Almost all the undead were killed, But the battle was far from over. The remaining undead, relentless in their pursuit of destruction, continued to claw their way forward.

But their pursuit didn’t bore any result either...

With all the undead killed, their gaze landed on the golem who now had left the position of maintaining the shield and was preparing an attack of his own.

For the final attack, all five of them combined their powers. They formed a semi-circle, with the open part of the formation facing the golem.

They kept that form for half a minute before unleashing the attack...

"Swoooooooshhhhh"

"Booooooom"

A massive spear flew at the tremendous speed ready to oblitrate the golem in an instant. But Azarex knew this was coming so he was preparing for the attack long before they themselves had started casting.

The moment the spear and the shield collided, the result was cataclysmic. It sent shockwaves across the frozen wasteland, covering the whole dome in fog. The very earth trembled as the wave of icy destruction radiated outward, leaving nothing but a vast, frozen expanse in its wake.

From behind the almost-destroyed shield got out the golem, his eyes locked on those five...

Before they began their battle...

"Crack" "Crack"

The shield cracked...
