Chapter 62: Everything manual
After some deep thinking, he could only manage to think of two pros...
The first and the most obvious is the massive boost it provided in the stats, amounting to a total of 200.
This would be huge considering now that he has transformed into a monster, there might be a possibility that he won’t be able to gain levels as he did when he was human or use the coins to upgrade his stats.
So in that sense, a boost of 200 stats would be massive.
The second and final would be the potential of this evolution path...
Think, when the reward Dhruv is getting in the third tier, is already this good, not exactly good but unique for sure. Then how much he could gain if he continued on this path...
Dhruv was well aware of this fact and would have chosen this evolution if it weren’t for the wave that binds his hands and requires him to be at his strongest.
After much thought and knowing that there weren’t any other options, he clicked on [Master Asteri Mage] and confirmed this option as his evolution.
With the choice being selected instead of evolution being started, like how it had happened with the trio. A new option popped up in front of him.
[congratulation! You have reached Tier III and can perform manual evolution. Would you like to continue.]
Not know what this was, as the trio had never mentioned anything like this during his talk with them after their evolution...
With a nervous smile, he said, "I sure would.."
The moment he gave the confirmation, multiple windows began to open in front of him.
"Woahh! Woah! Slow down.."
With literal tens of windows simultaneously opened in front of him, it takes him some time to get familiar with each of the options. He made a list in his mind of what he could do with this apparently manual evolution option.
The most important thing he noticed when confronted with this whole manual evolution thing was that there was a set amount of energy he could use for the evolution.
And he had almost three times the usual amount given to any other Tier 3 monster. The only possible answer he could think of for this was his fusion with that massive core before the evolution.
"It finally had some advantage.." Dhruv found himself relieved that he didn’t suffer all that for nothing.
The evolutionary energy was a type of currency that could be used for manual evolution. He took some more time to get familiar with this new currency.
Another interesting thing he found out was that he could manually use the given 50 bonus strength—during the evolution—either to increase his overall size or to increase the muscle density.
’I should increase my muscle density, as I am already pretty tall.’ he thought and decided to increase the muscle density, so he dumped all 100% of the 50 stats into increasing his muscle density.
Same as Agility also had two different purposes. It could be either used to increase his speed by increasing the mussels of his legs more or he could use it to increase his accuracy.
So with agility, he divided in the ratio of 50-50 between speed and accuracy.
For stamina, he could either change the toughness of his skin or increase his stamina to last longer... In battle of course.
So, for stamina, he chooses the ratio of 20-80.
20% goes for increasing the toughness of his skin and 80% for increasing his stamina.
He wasn’t exactly clear about how the magical power stat works.
If he followed the direction that was written there, he could use the magic power stat to increase the size of his brain or make it more powerful so he could perform multiple tasks.
And if he didn’t want any of these, there was a third option for the magical power. he could even add another brain for that matter, but the cost of it was pretty expensive, so he forgot about adding another brain... for now.
With all the weird things he had encountered till now, he didn’t even find the ability to add another brain that was weird.
Not wanting to increase his brain size and become some big-brain villain, he simply decided to improve his brain capability.
With all the easy stuff figured out, he dipped into the really difficult part of this manual evolution.
Now he had to decide how he was going to spend all that evolutionary energy.
There are two ways he could spend all that energy. He could either buy a new organ or he could make an existing body part mutable.
For example, at this moment there aren’t any of his body parts mutable except for Sorcerer’s eyes which he had just got.
So, if he wanted, he could make any of his body parts mutable, so he could mutate them by spending essence points, which he would get by eating monsters.
He quickly opened his tab and began looking for options that suited him the best,
There was literally thousands of option, so to find anything usable he sorted the options so he could only find the magical organs and even sorted the organs into further category like leg, brains, hands, etc.
"Now, this is better," Dhruv whispered as he looked at the clean screens which wasn’t a mess.
After doing that he began looking for good organs, and after some searching, he found a very interesting option...
’So, I could also buy Metal mana vein in this shop..’
He found the metal mana vein that he was getting for free if had chosen the evolution metal mage.
Looking at the organ, he got an idea and began looking for the normal counterpart of this organ...
And after a while, he manages to find it...
[Mana Veins: The mana vein will be planted along with your normal vein but it will directly be connected with the core, drawing mana from it. With the mana vein planted in your body, your mana manipulation will increase significantly.]
It was exactly the same as metal mana veins, except it could work with any type of mana.
He was about to click on the purchase icon when he suddenly noticed the amount he had to expand to purchase this organ...
"WHAT THE FUCK, almost one-third are gone, just like that.." Dhruv shouted with his eyes wide open,
As he had already made up his mind to purchase this one. After, putting a stone on his heart, he confirmed the purchase.
And just like that, one-third of his evolutionary energy was gone...
With the remaining energy, he began to make all his organs mutable first if he continued to look he would surely get excited and would buy new organs, spending all his energy.
In that short time frame, he found many interesting organs, and the most he was excited about were,[Daimond’s heart], [Crystal wings], and [Dragon claws]. Somehow controlling himself he didn’t buy any one of those.
By the time all the body parts become mutable, only 5% energy was remaining...
He looked at all his favorite options, but their prices were much, so instead of Dragon claws he settled with [Steel claws]. And just like that, all his energy was gone.
He looked at all his purchases and confirmed his purchase, and just like that darkness surrounded him once again...
