Chapter 336: War
Lifting his sword, Vexar dashed toward her, but before he could close the distance, multiple chains of flame appeared from the ground and bound him in place.
Pyra’s eyes glowed for a second as the sword in his hand melted into oblivion. The smile on her face faded as she looked at Vexar with a bit of killing intent as well.
A chill ran down his spine as drops of sweat began to form on his forehead. The blood inside his body began to rebel, trying to consume him from within.
Everything continued for a few seconds before the same smile reappeared on Pyra’s face. With a calm smile, she observed the demon.
Even with all this, he was looking at her with nothing but pure hatred. He stared at her, completely forgetting about the condition he was in a moment ago. If stares were enough to kill, then Pyra would have already died a thousand times over.
"Don’t be this rash. I was just making an assumption... an assumption and nothing more than that," Pyra said, removing his chains.
"Don’t even dare to say that ever again, or I will burn you with your own flames..." Vexar yelled.
Freed from the chains, Vexar was about to jump on her again but calmed down a bit, understanding the situation.
’She is too strong for me to handle alone... I have to call others here... but how?’ Vexar’s mind churned as he began to think of a way to call others into this realm.
"Don’t worry, I won’t harm you or anyone dear to you... that includes your master as well. In fact, I wanted to meet with him as well... but unfortunately, I didn’t have the authority..." Pyra sighed, sounding a bit disappointed.
"What’s your purpose in coming here then?" Trying to keep his hostility in check, Vexar asked, not convinced by her words.
"Well, to put it simply, I wanted you to become a real phoenix, but now that you have refused, I don’t want to force that upon you..." Pausing for a moment, she murmured,
"To tell you the truth I have another request...I want you to pass my message to your Master." Pyra muttered looking at him with hope.
"What message..." Vexar asked, giving her a sidelong glance. He didn’t like hearing the word ’Master’ coming from her mouth.
"Hmmm! How should I put this? You must already know your Master is capable of doing some fusion... and what I want is for you to tell him that I want to use his expertise a few times..." Pyra muttered, recalling something.
She had been waiting for this moment since Dhruv had copied the exclusive ability [Phoenixblood] and made his presence known to her. Because of the blood in his veins, she managed to get a glimpse of the skills and abilities he possessed.
Pyra didn’t care about anything else, but there was one thing in his status that had caught her attention.
’That mutant made the best choice he could’ve made..’ This was the exact thought she had after learning about the creation stone and how he had used it to create the ability [True Fusion].
Understanding the situation she was in, Pyra found this ability of his perfect. If she used this ability perfectly, then the tip of the balance could begin to lean in her favor.
But the problem remains how she should meet him.
At first, Pyra wanted to meet him during his Tier III evolution, but considering the tier she was in, she didn’t want to risk killing him accidentally.
Considering all this, she waited... waited for the perfect opportunity. And it came, the only problem... it wasn’t perfect anymore. At Tier IV, he did something that caused her to be unable to use the full extent of her power over Phoenixblood.
Pyra had lost authority over her own blood.
The moment she learned about this, she was beyond disappointed. At first, She had wanted to act quickly and reach the planet he was in but remembering everything about the quest she couldn’t help but calm herself down.
After much difficulty, Pyra accepted that she would have to wait until the end of the quest.
Nothing happened for some time but one particular day she felt something. Someone with her blood was evolving, and that’s when she remembered he wasn’t the only one with her blood.
Without wasting any time, she jumped to take the opportunity.
"And why do you think the Master would listen to your request?"
Vexar was the one to smile this time.
Looking at his smile, Pyra couldn’t help but chuckle at his naivety. Leaning toward him, she remarked,
"You have the protection of the cosmos at the moment, but this will not last forever. When the quest ends, you will be vulnerable to the things in the cosmos, and let me tell you firsthand... there are many unimaginable horrors in this cosmos that you don’t want to meet them untimely..."
"...So, I want you just to mention this to him... ’When the quest ends, I will welcome him into the cosmos with my own hands... which will guarantee your safety’... If he succeeds in surviving until then, I can teach him a few nifty tricks as well."
Pyra said, giving Vexar a glimpse into the monstrosity known as Cosmos.
"I will tell the Master... but I want to know why you need his help?" Vexar asked trying to be fully prepared.
"Well, just say there is a war going on in the cosmos... Sigh! This should be enough." Pyra whispered, not wanting to share more details.
Knowing there wasn’t any problem with telling this information to his Master, Vexar was about to agree but stopped after remembering an important thing to ask.
"If he were to agree... then how will you meet with him?" Vexar asked the obvious question.
"I can meet with him during his next evolution... just tell him to give me authority." Saying these words, Pyra was about to disappear from the realm but stooped and looked at Vexar with a bit of curiosity.
"Another thing, why are you not choosing the evolution Phoenixfire Sorcerer?" Pyra inquired.
"I just don’t like it..." Vexar replied, not elaborating any further.
"Well, it’s your choice... hmmm! It seems my time is over. For disturbing your precious time, let me give you some rewards..." Hurriedly saying these words, Pyra snapped and disappeared from the throne.
With her, the area Vexar was in disappeared as well, as he was once again left alone in the field of sword and flame. He was about to call a sword to make sure everything was okay when two notifications appeared in front of him.
