Chapter 293: Felling Proud

Like before tingling sensation began to permeate through the areas where the mutations had occurred. When the tingling calmed down, Dhruv looked at his status with satisfaction.

There were 13 essence points left so he invested them in his [Healing heart] leveling it up to +7.

"Ahhh! I guess this is it. It’s time for me to reach tier IV." A smile appeared as he thought of the ways that could be evolved into this time. He had quite a high expectations for this evolution.

Making every possible preparation possible Dhruv called, [Azarex, come here...]

After giving the cores to Dhruv, Azarex had gone around the town, killing every living creature he could find. From what he suspected, Azarex would be able to evolve as well.

[Coming, master.] A quick reply came through the connection.

Expecting the arrival, Dhruv began to inspect the corpse of the queen in front of him. Lying beside her corpse was the final core of the dungeon. Dhruv had checked, and there wasn’t anything extra about the description of the core; everything was the same.

’You will have a new life soon...’ Dhruv whispered, looking at the corpse.

Like Grec, he was planning to make the queen his fifth guardian. She wasn’t the only one either; Dhruv had the same plan for the boss of the spider dungeon and every other powerful boss he would defeat.

Dhruv had decided to create an army of powerful monsters that couldn’t be defied by anyone on the whole planet. He didn’t plan to be stopped no matter the cost.

Suddenly, the heat radiating from the flame seemed to drop as the cold around him. Lifting his head, Dhruv looked around.

’Well, isn’t this a sight to behold!...’ Dhruv couldn’t help but be awed by the scene in front of him.

Dhruv watched as the silence around him was broken by the sound of hundreds of footsteps. He saw hundreds of undead following a single broken skeleton, their steps synchronized with the undead lord.

Everywhere he saw there was nothing but death. It truly seemed like a scene from hell.

Reaching his master, Azarex kneeled. Following him, every single undead kneeled as well, their heads touching the ground as silence descended once again.

A shiver ran down Dhruv’s spine as he felt the death itself kneeling in front of him.

"I must say, you did a good job... no, a great job, Azarex," Dhruv muttered, moved by the power this undead lord wielded.

"Thank you, my lord. But it’s all because of you..."

Before he could even finish his sentence, Dhruv intervened, "Stop this... It’s because of you master. Stop this ’master’ that, ’master’. Stop always crediting me for what you did... See what you achieve and be proud of that..."

Pausing for a bit he added, "...Understand?"

Dhruv asked, looking for nothing but an affirmative reply from him.

"U-Understand, m-master," Azarex answered with a bit of a stutter.

"Okay! Now tell me, have you leveled up fully?" Dhruv asked.

"Yes, master. After killing the royal guards, I had already reached level 38, and killing others let me make up for the 2-level gap. I can evolve whenever you wish," Azarex answered. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎

’Again, this ’if you wish.’ Why does he need my permission to evolve? Forget it, this isn’t a matter I can fix in one day,’ Dhruv thought. He really didn’t like when others depended on him for really important stuff.

Sighing, he asked, "Are there any other powerful monsters in the town?"

Dhruv asked the question because he didn’t want to be disturbed during his evolution, like what had happened during his last evolution.

"No, master. I’ve traveled the town and even accessed the memory of the guard. The queen was the most powerful being, and after her were the guards. Forget about powerful, there is no one alive in the town now," Azarex answered with a proud smirk.

"Well, that is good. If there is nothing more I will start my evolution. You can wait here or do anything you want." Saying these words, Dhruv opened his status to start the evolution.

Before he could start the evolution, though, Azarex muttered,

"If you don’t mind I want to give a suggestion, Master. This place is too dirty for your evolution and... I think there is a better place to evolve..." He pointed in a certain direction.

Following his hand, Dhruv looked that way. There, he saw a magnificent, radiant castle standing proudly on a small hill.

"In the castle?" Dhruv asked.

"Yes, master. From the memory of a royal guard, I’ve seen a designated area where monsters of this town evolve. It is well protected as well," Azarex informed him.

"Hmmm! Well, there is nothing wrong with that..." Nodding his head, Dhruv, Azarex, and his army began to move toward the castle.

As the distance closed, Dhruv began to notice how the settlement of the town was laid out. He couldn’t help but be pained after seeing the land. Looking at the barren houses, he once again realized what he had done.

Sigh.

Keeping his head straight, Dhruv instinctively increased his pace. The distance between the residential area and the castle wasn’t much, and they reached the castle pretty soon.

Leaving the undead away from the premises, Dhruv and Azarex reached the grand door of the castle. The duo hadn’t even entered the castle but the temperature had already begun to drop.

Being no one to protect it anymore the duo stepped inside without any resistance. Entering the door they found themselves led into a grand hall.

Dhruv gazed around, trying to appreciate the beauty. It didn’t take him long to begin appreciating it.

He touched the wall and found it being made of material enhanced with pure ice mana. He could see himself reflecting on the smooth and polished surface of the wall.

Elegant embroideries woven from frost and snow adorned the walls. Dhruv looked at them as he saw scenes of winter landscapes, mythical creatures, and even battles fought on frozen tundra described on them.

Looking at the embroideries, his feet automatically stopped as he became awed by the mastery of whoever crafted these things.

’I will fucking steal this... and nobody is going to stop me,’ Dhruv thought, jealous that he didn’t have anything of this level. He decided then and there to steal them.

A smirk appeared on his face as he felt proud of his idea.
