Chapter 238: White Void

A man’s eyes gently opened as he adjusted to the ray of light streaming on his face through his windows. Getting disturbed by the light, he didn’t have any choice but to wake up...

Sigh!

Letting out a quiet sigh, the man began to stretch his limbs in an attempt to shake off the feeling of sleepiness that was still lingering inside of him. After much effort, he finally managed to get out of his blanket.

He could swear that leaving his cozy furry blanket was the most challenging battle he had ever fought. Sitting on the corner of the bed, the man placed his feet on the ground.

The moment he did that, a strange unfamiliarity began to wash over him. Looking confused, he started to observe the area around him.

’Why does this look familiar? Am I experiencing some sort of déjà vu?’ the man thought, perplexed by the surroundings he was in.

Not sure what to do, he began to walk toward the bathroom. Midway to his destination, he was forced to stop in the tracks as the sound of something entered his head...

"What was that?" Hearing a sound from a certain direction, he began to walk there almost instinctively.

After walking for a moment, he finally reached where the sound had originated. He was surprised to find that a little boy was crying out loud while 16 or something that age playing a game.

’Children these days... always engrossed in their silly little games...’ Thinking this, he tried to observe and remember who they were and what they were doing in his house...

’My house?... My house? Or is it the other way around...’ Standing at the gate, the man tried to ponder. The more he was thinking the more he was getting dragged into the spiral of something horrifying... something unsettling... 𝓯𝙧𝓮𝓮𝒘𝓮𝙗𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒆𝓵.𝓬𝓸𝒎

Before anything happened, the man heard a voice coming in his direction.

"Dhruv, when did you dye your hair white? Hmm! I think it looks quite nice, at least now you can have a girlfriend" He heard the voice of the lady sitting on the sofa, reading something.

"Huh, just dyed it yesterday... M-m..om," The man... No, Dhruv replied instinctively.

’What is happening? Why am I answering? Why did I call her mom...’ Before he could have any more questions, a shock traveled throughout his body..

Dhruv remained standing there for a moment as something began to fill his mind. In just a single second, everything seemed to be normal once again as if nothing had happened.

Wiping a drop of water from his face, Dhruv began to walk toward his mother. Realizing something, he quickly retraced his steps went to his room, and closed the door.

Opening the drawer, he pulled out a cloth big enough to cover almost all the visible skin of his body. The reason for doing this was to hide the tattoo that was all over his body. Sure that nothing is visible, he begins to walk toward the hall.

Sitting beside his mother, he opened his mouth, "Mom, I have a surprise for all of us."

Putting the book beside along with her glasses, she looked at her handsome son and asked, "What is it?"

"This..." Saying this, Dhruv pulled out a piece of paper from the pocket of the pajama he was wearing. Without a second thought, he handed over the piece of paper to her mom.

"What is this?" Putting the glasses back on her eyes, she looked at the paper with a hint of curiosity and began to read it.

After a moment of reading the paper, a look of surprise appeared on her face, which quickly transformed into a smile.

...And finally, the smile transformed into pride.

"What is it, mom?" The voice of a young lady was ringing in the room but her mom was in a different mood to focus on her voice.

"MOM, Please tell us what is it..." With a cup of tea in her hand, the young lady began to walk toward her mom.

"Huh! Have you said something, Rani.." Before she could finish her sentence, her daughter came forward and snatched the paper to read for herself.

Just after reading the heading of the paper, she looked at her brother and shouted with excitement, "Is this real, brother?"

With a smirk on his face, Dhruv replied, "As real as it can get."

Hearing the words, Rani quickly ran toward him and hugged her brother. Looking at his sister, Dhruv asked in embarrassment, "Ohhh! I think you should focus on packing."

Nodding her head, she began to get away from him... Looking back, she muttered, "Hahaha! Finally, we are going to..."

Looking at his sister being this happy, a genuine smile appeared on Dhruv’s face as well. The smile didn’t last long as he noticed something unbelievable happening in front of him.

Before he could think anything a current ran through his entire existence as he saw the thing in front of him changing. Rani, who had just been talking a few moments ago, began to glitch out from the hall...

"Rani, what is happening with you..." Shouting, Dhruv tried to run toward her.

In just a matter of seconds, he realized something else as well. No matter how much he tried, he couldn’t move from his place. Before he could move his feet even a micro inch, his lovely sister had already faded out of existence.

"Noooo!!! RANIII!!!" Dhruv shouted as streaks of tears began to flow from his eyes. In just a moment, everything in front of him became blurred.

Wiping his eyes, he looked toward his mother. Dhruv thought that the blurriness was because of the tears, but he was far from the truth.

Before he could even have a question, everything around him blurred out of existence... leaving only a white void around him.

His eyes rolled into his skull as Dhruv lost his consciousness.
