Chapter 209: Name
The goblin who had appeared from the dome was almost the same as the boss of this floor. It was only almost because Dhruv could notice some difference as well.
Because the monster was sitting, Dhruv couldn’t estimate his height, but his guess was that it wouldn’t be lower than 2m in height. There wasn’t a single loose muscle on the entirety of the monster’s body; every inch of his body screamed for power.
Unlike his body, the color of his hair was black, and he had an undercut style for his hair, which looked quite cool as well.
He was only able to notice this much because Dhruv was quickly forced to turn his head away. Turning his head away from the naked monster, Dhruv quickly connected with Alaric, [Alaric, do you have clothes for his size?]
[No, master, I don’t have clothes, but I have some armor that could fit him.] Alaric replied as he threw armor toward the monster.
Thud...
As the armor hit the ground it produced some sound... disturbed by the sound the monster opened his eyes. Looking around him once he began to stare at the armor.
After a few seconds of staring, he began to wear them.
Dhruv knew that the monster would always come out of fusion naked, and thus he wasn’t unprepared either. Looking at the monster in front of him, he realized that he had brought the wrong size of cloth.
Dhruv had brought some children’s clothes, anticipating that this guardian would also appear in the form of a child like the trio. But to his surprise, it had skipped the two steps of his life and appeared as a full-grown adult.
’Why did he appear as an adult...’ Dhruv couldn’t help but question this as he took a glance at the goblin in front of him.
The monster was still trying to wear the armor. Looking at the monster trying and failing, Dhruv just gave him some time to figure this out on his own. Giving the monster some space he began to ponder a question of his own.
After a minute of comparing what was different between both fusions, he finally got a reasonable answer.
’So this one is formed as an adult because the main body was already a tier 4 during the fusion.’ Dhruv concluded.
What he had understood was that Cosmos age level for monsters is different from humans. For monsters, Tier 1 is a child, Tier 2 is a teenager, and Tier 3 is someone who has stepped into adulthood.
Because during the creation of the trio, all the materials were humans who hadn’t even stepped into Tier 1, the results granted were in baby form. As opposed to that, all the fusion materials here were at least Tier 3... resulting in the formation of an actual adult guardian.
’Well, nice for me... I don’t have to teach him anything...’ Dhruv thought as a bittersweet smile appeared on his face. He didn’t know why but he suddenly remembered his days when the trio were children. It was cute but equally horrible.
"Master, he has finished wearing the armor..." Vexar excitedly said as he found the goblin in his full glory.
"Yes... Vexar, I’m looking at them as well." Dhruv replied as a thought appeared in his head.
’Well, one of my guardians is still in his child phase...’ With a smile on his face, he began to observe as the goblin got up from his position and began to move toward him.
"..." Dhruv didn’t understand why the monster was moving toward him without saying a word, but he continued to watch.
While the goblin was walking toward him Dhruv found that the iris of this goblin was unlike he had seen anywhere. It was golden in color. Before he could think about this the monster reached him.
Stopping in front of him, the monster opens his mouth, "M-m..aster ... c-could y..ou g..iv.e m.e that ring.." Although his words were broken, Dhruv was able to understand them entirely.
"You want this ring..." Dhruv said as he put one of his fingers on his storage ring.
Instead of answering anything, the goblin just began to nod his head rapidly.
’Well, he has the same greed...’ Dhruv thought as he tried to figure out a way to decline the offer without hurting his feelings. A few seconds later, an idea popped up in his head,
"How about I give you something more impressive, something that will last forever, something that will truly be yours..." Dhruv replied with a smile on his face.
The goblin didn’t understand half the words Dhruv was telling him, but deep down, his greediness allowed him to sense that the offer the man was offering was far more impressive than just a beautiful ring.
Even though he was excited, he didn’t directly nod and instead asked a question, "What is that thing..."
"Name... I will give you a name. A name that will forever be yours." Dhruv answered while keeping the smile on his face.
"Name.. name?" the monster was confused about what the word ’name’ meant for a second, but as the moment passed, information from the mark began to seep into his brain. Finally understanding what a name is, a smile appeared on his face.
"It would be my pleasure... My lord..." The goblin muttered.
"Well, if you want something from me... shouldn’t you give something of the same value in return... So tell me what am I getting in return for giving you a name.." Dhruv asked with a smile on his face.
"Something in return..." The goblin repeated as he looked at the man in front of him. Suddenly a smile appeared on his face as he opened his mouth,
"My loyalty... My undying loyalty, Master..." The goblin replied while lowering his head.
With a smile on his face, Dhruv placed his hand on top of the goblin’s head and muttered... "From now on, you will be known as Grec..."
"Thank you, Master." Lifting his head, Grec looks into Dhruv’s eyes and expresses his feelings.
