Chapter 177: A Satisfied Smile

When the runic circle had concluded its work, there was one thing Vexar had realized: Although his physical strength had been lowered, there weren’t any changes in his magical abilities or any other abilities.

While keeping a sword in one hand, he began to concentrate his fire mana in the other one. Soon enough, a fire pillar emerged on top of his palm, and with a single command, the fire traveled toward the hut.

Whoosh!

In just a few seconds, the entire hut began to burn like crazy, yet there wasn’t any sign of Shaman exiting the inferno. A frown appeared on his face when Vexar thought that he might have already killed the boss.

But to his disappointment, No to his joy the shaman was still alive and still standing in the same position. Vexar takes a look at the foe in front of him to evaluate the strengths and probable weaknesses.

In the center of the hut, surrounded by some kind of barrier was goblin Shaman, a hunched figure garbed in tattered robes adorned with bone charms and fetishes.

With a staff adorned with the skulls of small creatures, the Shaman exuded an eerie aura. His eyes glowed with an unholy light, and his bony fingers were adorned with many rings.

Both of them locked their eyes, a tense silence hanging in the air like a storm about to break.

Looking at the foe in front of him the Shaman cracked his finger and raised his staff high in the air. He closed his eyes for a second and began to chant in some weird ancient language.

When the chanting was over, ten lesser goblin Shamans had spawned in front of Vexar. All of these goblins were well-equipped as well. In unison, all of them reached for their waists and quickly picked out their bamboo blowguns.

"You are not the only one who can summon their minions," Vexar announced. After passing this simple statement, Vexar cast his own skill. Soon enough, five fire spirits emerged in front of him.

After reaching level five, [Emberplay] had evolved into [Greater Emberplay], granting him four new fire spirits. All of their strengths were equal to the strength of the skill, meaning at this point, all of them are at tier 2 level.

All the fire spirits began to move towards one of the lesser shamans. Vexar didn’t waste any time and began to sprint toward the rest of them.

With a roar that echoed across the village, he unleashed a torrent of fire from his sword, creating a fiery barrier that circled around him.

The goblin minions screamed as the flames consumed them, reducing their numbers by half. The Shaman’s eyes widened with surprise as his minions fell to Vexar’s inferno without any resistance.

The goblin Shaman quickly controlled himself and continued his incantations, summoning more minions to replace the fallen. But all this proved to be nothing but a waste of time as Vexar was relentless, wielding his sword and fire magic with precision.

He moved like a whirlwind, slashing through the goblin minions with a deadly combination of his extreme skill and fiery flames. Within a minute, the battlefield was bathed in a dance of fire and blood.

Frustrated by Vexar’s unyielding assault, the goblin Shaman decided to take a more direct approach. He extended his bony hand and took out a ragged knife from his waistband.

Without any hesitation, he sliced one of his fingers with the knife. With nothing to attach to, the lonely finger quickly fell to the ground.

The Shaman bent down and quickly picked up the sliced finger and brought it toward the mouth of one of the dolls hanging from his waist.

He fed his bloody finger to the doll and threw it toward Vexar. The moment the doll landed, it disintegrated into thin air, leaving nothing but a runic mark on the place where it had dropped.

"Totem blessing,"* The Shaman chanted.

The moment these ancient words left his mouth, the rune began to glow, and a few seconds later, a massive, grotesque golem began to emerge from the ground.

A three-meter towering golem, whose body was composed of jagged rocks and soil, advanced menacingly. The golem’s eyes glowed with malevolence as it lumbered toward Vexar, its massive fists ready to crush him.

Vexar recognized the danger the golem posed and quickly focused his magic to its fullest extent. Within a second, a magic ball appeared in his hand. Instead of throwing it, he began to provide more power to it.

Within five seconds, the fireball was thrice the size, with a clear blue core within it. With a swift motion, he hurled the fiery sphere at the golem.

Booooooom!

The moment the ball of crimson energy touched the rough surface of the golem, it exploded in a tremendous burst of flames, reducing the creature to a pile of nothing but smoldering rubbles.

The goblin Shaman’s eyes widened in disbelief. He had expended a significant portion of his magical and life energy to summon the golem, and now his foe had effortlessly dispelled and killed it.

This sudden disbelief caused him to pause for a second, and the demon seized the opportunity very well, charging forward with his blazing sword raised high.

Noticing Vexar approaching toward him, the Shaman quickly picked one of the bones from his waist and crushed it into powder. The powdered bone surrounded the Shaman, forming a barrier of an unknown material.

The Shaman attempted to defend himself by creating a barrier, but he was no match for Vexar’s relentless assault. The demon’s sword enchanted by the fire sliced through the goblin’s meager defenses.

Soon enough the fiery tendrils enter the barrier and begin to wrap around the Shaman’s body, searing his flesh and burning his robes to ashes. The goblin screamed in agony as his life force drained away by the demon fire. 𝘧𝓇𝑒𝑒𝑤ℯ𝑏𝓃𝘰𝑣ℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮

The boss tried to breach the barrier around him, but it was already too late. Within ten seconds, there was nothing but ashes left inside the barrier.

Looking at the ashes inside the barrier, a somewhat satisfied smile appeared on Vexar’s face.

.....

[A/N:- *Totem blessing* the goblin had said these words in the ancient language and was translated by me for your convenience.]
