Chapter 160: Boss Battle

"Rooooooaaar"

A powerful roar transmitted through the air capturing everyone’s attention.

The moment the sound reached his ear, Dhruv turned around and looked at the village with mystical eyes. He had already activated his mana sense to check the tier of the monster.

After looking at the holes beside the portal in the cave, Dhruv already had a suspicion that there could be a monster with the term boss monster.

As the silhouette of the monster appeared in front of Dhruv, he instantly knew the rank of this monster. The monster in front of him was in the middle of Tier 2.

Its physical quality looked inferior to the goblin he had experimented with fusion on, but still, the monster excluded a different type of aura... An aura of authority.

The monster sprinted toward the group of humans, but before it could even reach the border of its village, something stopped it.

Dhruv quickly created a metal box around the monster so it couldn’t attack any of them. While the monster was trying to free itself, Dhruv began to ponder over the situation.

’So, the boss is here. Who should fight with this monster? It is only at Tier 2. They can’t beat this one one-on-one,’ Dhruv thought as he looked in front of him.

Dhruv knew that he, Alaric, or any of the bodyguards could easily kill the monster in front of him. At the same time, nobody from the group had the strength to kill the monster alone.

’Who said they have to fight one-on-one battles?’ Dhruv chuckled as this thought came to his mind.

He quickly looked at the group in front of him and said,

’Create a group of five-man teams: one archer, two warriors, one mage, and one healer. Quickly. Old man, go in the team,’ Dhruv announced as he looked at the group in front of him.

He made it sound in a way that the other would think he couldn’t control the monster in the box for very long and they have to make a decision quickly. But that was far from the truth, Dhruv could imprison the goblin indefinitely without any problem.

With the sudden turn of events, the group didn’t know how to respond to this command of their lord. Hesitation was about to overwhelm them when they saw an old man walking in front of them.

As they looked at the back of this old man, who was walking without any feat something clicked in them.

In just a few moments, another three men and one woman emerged from the group. They were the rest of the members of this five-person team.

Two of the men were warriors, the third man was an archer, and the female was the tank of the group.

Because they had chosen to come forward instantly, there was no healer on the team. Even when there was no healer on the team, Dhruv didn’t send them back and let them get ready to fight the monsters.

"Are you ready?" Dhruv asked as he looked at the five-person team in front of him.

"Ouu-uhhhh!!" Letting out a deep breath, the old man nodded.

"Okay, step forward. I will release the monster," Dhruv said as he looked at the monster captured in front of him.

The group of five stepped forward and began to make a formation. While they were making their formation, Dhruv quickly called Alaric and asked,

[What are their names, Alaric?]

Although Dhruv knew them by face, he couldn’t exactly remember each of their names. To address this issue, he had tasked Alaric with remembering everyone’s name.

[The one wielding a sword is known as Arthur, the one with the axe is called Ajeet. The archer is Lirael. Although you always call that old mage ’Old Man,’ his real name is Ewen, and lastly, we have Sylas as the tank,] Alaric replied with a calm tone.

Alaric didn’t have any problem with his master not remembering everyone’s name. On the other hand, he found this action quite justified, as being a lord, why would Dhruv remember the name of every one of his subjects? If they had done something remarkable, that was another matter. 𝘧𝑟𝑒𝑒𝘸𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝓁.𝘤𝘰𝓂

In just a few seconds, the group had taken their formation.

Arthur and Ajeet, warriors of the group, one wielding gleaming swords while the other chose a sharp axe, stood in the front. Wearing their common armor, they were the first line of offense and defense for their team.

Lirael, the team’s sharpshooter, stood a few paces behind them, his bowstring taut with lethal intent.

The old man, Ewen, the team’s mage with a unique affinity for wood magic, was positioned beside Lirael. He wielded a staff he already had while his emerald eyes were deadlocked on the target.

Last but not least, Sylas, the tank of the group, assumed a protective stance in front of the others. With a shield and an imposing mace, she was a fortress in human form. She was ready to activate her skill taunt the moment the monster reached the required area.

Noticing that his team was ready, Dhruv removed the metal box blocking the goblin. The moment the box was removed, the goblin roared once again.

Rooooaaaarrr!!

From the village, the monster began to sprint in their direction. The boss was wielding a crude wooden club.

The goblin was a hulking figure, with green skin mottled with scars from countless battles. His beady eyes gleamed with malevolence as he gnashed his rotten teeth in anticipation.

Everyone was taken aback as they saw this disgusting monster for the first time. Everyone quickly calmed down as well when they remembered whose protection they were in.

The boss was still quite some distance away when, out of nowhere, ten goblins spawned in front of the group. All ten goblins quickly attacked, and the group was forced to engage in battle while the boss was yet to reach them.

’Huh! So it can even create minions, interesting ability,’ Dhruv judged as he spectated the battle.
