Chapter 116: Chapter 88: A True Treasure Girl

Meng Wei, Sang Fan, and Su Shouhai.

These were the three powerful participants Fan He had mentioned.

They either came from a Wizard Clan or were front-line combatants in the legions, seasoned with extensive battle experience.

Just from this information, it was clear they would be tough opponents.

"Besides those three, there are many others who have the strength to fight a Legendary Knight head-on. These people are all strong contenders for a spot in the trial."

At this point, Fan He glanced at Pei Ze.

In his opinion, even if Pei Ze’s strength couldn’t match Meng Wei’s trio, he wasn’t far behind.

He still had a chance to secure a spot.

As they spoke, the two had already arrived in the underground hall.

Pei Ze snapped out of his thoughts and looked at the three stone steles, his gaze pausing on the one inscribed with ’Dark Well’.

’Come to think of it, I still have two Dark Stones in my dimensional bag. I might as well give it a try later.’

With a plan in mind, Pei Ze walked toward the entrance of the Realm of Truth.

Having experienced it once before, he was much more composed this time.

Once again, there was the brilliant starry sky and the galaxy.

After a myriad of stars flared into brilliance, they were met with an apocalyptic collapse.

In the blink of an eye, Pei Ze was back at the entrance.

He immediately checked his status and, sure enough, found the familiar text at the very bottom.

[Power of Rules: 418]

’Twenty points less than last time... Is it because I gained less insight from it?’

Pei Ze was lost in thought.

The Realm of Truth was like a book with finite content. The first read yielded the greatest rewards, but with each subsequent reading, the amount of information one could glean would progressively decrease until, eventually, no matter how many times one revisited it, no new useful information could be obtained.

’The next time I enter the Realm of Truth, I might only get around three hundred-some points of Power of Rules.’

Pei Ze shook his head and didn’t dwell on it.

Regardless, his gains this time were still substantial.

Over four hundred points of Power of Rules were enough for his strength to skyrocket.

Reining in his thoughts, Pei Ze turned to Fan He and asked, "Is the Dark Well open today?"

Fan He smiled and nodded. "The Dark Well is open twenty-four hours a day. As long as you have a Dark Stone, you can use it anytime. You want to give it a try?"

"I’ve never actually seen any Otherworldly Creatures before, so I’m a little curious."

"Haha, that’s perfectly normal. There isn’t a Wizard Apprentice alive who isn’t interested in Otherworldly Creatures. Besides, it’s a great opportunity to broaden your horizons. If the chance arises, you can even trade with Extraterritorial Life, but be careful not to get scammed."

"Thanks for the warning."

Pei Ze smiled, nodded, and then walked toward the Dark Well room and stepped inside.

Though called a room, the interior was more like a spacious courtyard. Bright Ash Stone Lamps hung on the surrounding walls.

In the center of the courtyard stood five stone-piled wellheads, each about a meter high, lined up in a row and spaced more than twenty meters apart.

And on the wall to the right were written the instructions for using the Dark Well.

At the very top, a series of conspicuous lines were written in a bright red font.

’Do not jump into the Dark Well.’

’Do not drink the Dark Well’s water.’

’Do not take the Dark Well’s water out of this room.’

’Do not throw any object other than a Dark Stone (including living beings) into the Dark Well.’

Pei Ze: "..."

Behind every seemingly absurd rule, there was once an even more absurd story.

Pei Ze continued reading down the wall. The content that followed contained the real instructions.

According to the description, the Dark Wells were actually Eyes of the World formed by the unique rules of the Wizard World. They could randomly establish a connection with intelligent life from a certain plane, acting as a channel for meetings and trades.

Meetings were self-explanatory, but trades required the use of a trading Array that matched the rules of the Dark Well (a detailed diagram of the Array was provided below). The entire trading process was protected by the rules of the Dark Well, so there was no need to worry about either party backing out.

Of course, when it came to the value of the traded items, it was all up to each individual’s discernment.

Perhaps for this reason, the end of the text provided a detailed list of beings one should avoid trading with to prevent being deceived.

Demons and devils were listed right at the top.

Having finished reading the wall, Pei Ze turned his gaze to the five Dark Wells.

Perhaps because it was still early, there was no one else in the courtyard besides him.

All five Dark Wells were unoccupied.

Pei Ze casually picked one, walked over to the leftmost Dark Well, and looked down.

The water level was high, only about fifty centimeters from the top of the wellhead. It was as smooth as a mirror, and the dim light scattering across its surface added a touch of mystery.

Pei Ze took out a Dark Stone, weighed it in his hand, then tossed it into the well.

With a PLOP, the Dark Stone splashed into the water and slowly sank, the surface gradually calming.

Before long, a figure suddenly began to emerge from the water’s surface, gradually becoming clearer before Pei Ze’s astonished gaze.

The place where the other being was located didn’t seem to be the wellhead, but rather a much wider body of water, allowing Pei Ze to see its full form.

It was a half-human, half-deer creature.

Going by human gender characteristics, it should be classified as a female creature.

It was somewhat like a centaur from legend, yet the details were completely different.

Other than a head of smooth, lustrous, pale-golden hair, her upper body was completely hairless.

The skin of her face, neck, collarbones, and arms was smooth and delicate, almost translucent, like milk with a dash of honey.

She had delicate, elf-like features. Her slightly long ears extended sideways, the tips pointing gently downward. The antlers on her head were forked but understated, and they looked perfect to hold on to while riding.
