Chapter 986: Chapter 986: You Hugged David?
Harry Hunter saw her leaning against the car window with a defeated look, not even glancing at him, and proactively spoke to her: "Your family’s bodyguards doubled their manpower today, did something happen?"
Zoe Lewis replied weakly: "Oh."
Oh?
What does "Oh" mean?
Did something happen or not?
"Why did you say you won’t have dinner tonight? Has the Lewis Family always been this harsh on you?"
"Oh."
"Can you not say ’Oh’ anymore?"
"Oh."
Harry Hunter was helpless; he suspected Zoe Lewis was getting back at him.
He pulled out a bank card from his pocket and handed it to Zoe Lewis: "Yours, take it."
Zoe Lewis glanced at it indifferently and didn’t even take it, not even a "Oh" this time.
Harry Hunter stuffed the card into her hand, explaining lightly: "This is the meeting gift my mom gave you last time; I’ve deposited it on the card."
Zoe Lewis was surprised; would he really be that kind-hearted?
An anomaly must have a reason!
She repeatedly examined the card: "You didn’t plant a bomb in here, did you?"
"Your family puts bombs in bank cards?"
"Then did you place a tracking device inside it?"
"Why would I track you?"
"How would I know? Maybe you find me annoying and want to kill me when I’m alone."
Harry Hunter really wanted to knock her head; what nonsense filled her brain all day: "Aren’t you alone right now?"
"It’s different now. When I left the Lewis Family, my family’s bodyguards saw me get in your car. If you kill me, the police will come to your house tomorrow. You definitely need to find a time when no one’s watching to kill me; that way, there’ll be no evidence."
Harry Hunter couldn’t help himself; he reached out and knocked her on the head: "Do you have paranoia?"
Zoe Lewis said "Ouch" and covered her head, glaring at him: "I don’t have paranoia; you clearly want to smash my head open, like smashing a watermelon!"
Harry Hunter was amused by her analogy, laughed lightly; she was truly lively, extremely lively.
Zoe Lewis heard him laughing and stared at him curiously.
He was already handsome, the kind that stands out at a glance in a crowd, but he rarely laughed. Whenever he laughed, Zoe Lewis felt his smile was so dazzling that it easily made one’s heart race.
Being so handsome, she had planned to sacrifice herself a bit to gather some intelligence on Harry Hunter, and she didn’t feel she was losing out at all.
But it seemed he wasn’t giving her the chance for such a sacrifice.
"Have you hugged David?"
"What?"
Zoe Lewis looked puzzled, unsure of why Harry Hunter suddenly brought up such an irrelevant question: "I haven’t!"
"David said you hugged him today."
"What?!"
Zoe Lewis raised her voice: "Impossible! I haven’t hugged him! How could he say such things, ruining my reputation! No way, I have to call him and get to the bottom of this!"
Harry Hunter had previously doubted whether she had hugged Harry Hunter, but she couldn’t call Harry Hunter to prove her innocence. As for David, there was no issue, so she could call him without any reservations.
She just took out her phone from her bag, and Harry Hunter held down her hand.
"Oh, maybe I heard wrong."
Of course, David hadn’t said Zoe Lewis hugged him; if she made this call, Harry Hunter would be exposed, so he absolutely couldn’t let Zoe Lewis call.
Zoe Lewis looked at him suspiciously: "You could hear wrong about that? What’s going on with you, always suspecting I’m hugging this or that? Sleeping next to you in the tent that day was purely an accident. You can’t randomly accuse me of hugging every guy I encounter! What would that make me!"
