Chapter 2170.3: Connate Spirit Root

“You’re golden core, young lord. You can do whatever you want to a foundation establishment cultivator from a lower empire. What do we need to interfere for?” the soul projection powerhouse smiled fawningly.

Cloudexit nodded with satisfaction. “Lu Yun, you heard him too. My people will not interfere in our matter!”

“What, is your word final?” Lu Yun cocked his head in a flippant way. “My family cannot afford to suffer vengeance from the Nineheavens Pagoda after the fact. Please, my uncle is still crippled after we exchanged two moves three years ago!”

“Right then, listen up, all of you! This is a matter between Lu Yun and I. It does not involve the Nineheavens Pagoda. I will show no mercy to anyone who dares repeat previous actions!” Cloudexit felt that Lu Yun made a lot of sense and hollered at his men.

“Do not worry, young lord! We will not interfere!” shouted the soul projection cultivator with an expansive air of being responsible for everything.

Please, all of Lu Yun’s actions and behavior had been within their grasp since he was a child. Who didn’t know how ridiculous and useless he was? Even though he was foundation establishment now, he was absolutely no match for a golden core cultivator. Foundation establishment cultivators of his age could be found in large handfuls on the street in Dark Orchid Empire!

“Very good, I hope all of you will refrain from eating the shit that you’ve just pushed out of your asses.” Lu Yun stood up and dusted himself off. “C’mon, let’s go outside. Don’t break my house.”

Ignoring the group, he sauntered out to the streets.

Cloudexit was enormously proud that Lu Yun had agreed to his terms, whereas his entourage looked on with stiff expressions. Refrain from eating the shit that they’d pushed out of their asses? Did the Lu young master have to speak in such a manner?

Lu Tianling’s house being under attack raised attention from all of the cultivators in the capital, but all manner of people were also in the city these days. Cultivators from fourth, fifth, and even sixth rank empires could be found in the capital.

A dao weapon was too relevant—only the imperial families of sixth rank empires might possess one. Other clans and sects would never own one if they didn’t encounter fortuitous occurrences. Hence, none of them could sit idly by if there was a possibility that a dao weapon had appeared in a mere third rank empire.

There was no one on the streets, but countless minds swept the area. A fight between two prodigals wasn’t worth watching, but some wanted to see how Lu Tianling, the strongest in Dark City, would react.

Of course, those from the fourth, fifth, and sixth rank empires didn’t care, but those from other third rank or elsewhere in the empire had to show some respect for Lu Tianling.

“Hahaha, Lu Yun, this time I’ll beat you like the dog you are!” Standing in the middle of the street, Cloudexit brandished his longsword and leered provocatively at the Lu young master. Suddenly, he went slack jawed. Abruptly ignoring Lu Yun, he shifted to stare fixedly in a certain direction.

“What a stunning jade beauty! No, that’s insufficient to describe her. Is she a fairy from the heavens?” he murmured with a hard swallow.

A woman in white had appeared by the Lu residence doors at some point. Slender, yet curvaceous, she emanated a breathtaking aura despite her face being covered by a veil. The woman was fatally alluring to a hotblooded young man like Cloudexit.

She was Fengxian Wu.

“Ahem!” Lu Yun coughed loudly. “Sir Cloudexit, are we fighting or not?”

“Fight? Yeah!” Cloudexist snapped back to his senses, but he was very distracted and his eyes kept drifting to the doors.

“Die, Lu Yun!” He pointed with his sword and sent out light nine meters long. However, everyone could tell that this blow was far lacking compared to before. His mind wasn’t in the fight at all.

Lu Yun chuckled and evaded the sword light. He took out a stack of talismans from his robes and threw them in the air.

Rumble!!

Rocks, blades of wind, lightning, spears of ice, blades of metal, wood, and nearly one hundred types of low level techniques smashed into Cloudexit. He swiftly gave the fight his full attention again and hastily operated true origin, wanting to defend against them.

But it was too late. While the techniques were only the level of initial foundation establishment, they filled the sky and were everywhere. A buffoon like Cloudexit couldn’t possibly handle them all.

Bam!

They smashed into Cloudexit and elicited a pale-yellow dome of light around him. The light persisted for a few seconds before it shattered.

Charred and smoking, Cloudexit flew backward with a loud wail.

Those from the Nineheavens Pagoda were extremely frustrated. They could tell that these talismans wouldn’t break the young lord’s defensive treasure in ordinary times. However, Cloudexit had been so distracted moments ago that he’d forgotten to activate his treasure. It’d raised automated defenses on its own.

“So he has a spirit rank defensive treasure on him!” Lu Yun walked up to Cloudexit and grabbed the other’s longsword. “Hahaha, this sword bears a Lu surname now!” He roared with laughter.

“Lu Yun, you court death!” the soul projection cultivator shouted. He jumped into the air and brought his palm down on Lu Yun.

The Lu young master jerked with surprise and brought the longsword up in front of him.

Wham!

He spewed a mouthful of blood and flew out like a kite on a broken string.

“Are you alright, young lord?” The soul projection cultivator arrived in front of Cloudexit and helped him up, shoving a variety of pills and medicines into the young man’s mouth like they didn’t cost anything.

“How dare you ambush me, Lu Yun!” Cloudexit howled after he took the pills and recovered slightly from his injuries.

“Hahahaha!!” Lu Yun stood up shakily and shoved He Wuheng aside. The steward had run out to help him up. “So the Nineheavens Pagoda does like to eat shit that you’ve pushed out of your asses!”

“You!” The disciples’ faces burned hotly; Cloudexit was almost spitting fire from his eyes. The impudent brat was weaker than him, but Lu Yun had beaten him into such a bedraggled state. Honor? That didn’t exist among good-for-nothings.

“Ambush?” Lu Yun wiped off the blood at the corners of his mouth. “You wield a spirit rank flying sword and possess a spirit rank defensive treasure. I’m just foundation establishment, how can I ambush you?”

“Shut up!” Cloudexit shoved aside the soul projection cultivator and pointed at Fengxian Wu. “Miss, you’re part of the Lu Clan, aren’t you? You will follow me back to the Nineheavens Pagoda if you don’t want the complex to be razed to the ground and everyone in the family die. Well?”

Busy watching the show, Fengxian Wu blinked and cast a startled glance at Cloudexit. So this young lord had designs on her? This was most unexpected!

Ever since awakening and obtaining a method to break the Severed Meridians Hold, Lu Yun had treated Fengxian Wu politely. He placed no limits on her whatsoever.

The method she’d handed over was supposed to break the restriction, but no one knew if it could really do the deed. All Lu Yun needed was a reason for the change in his family. Otherwise, he’d never be able to explain why his uncle was no longer crippled.

The more Fengxian Wu grew accustomed to the Lu residence, the more her dislike abated. Her wounds had mostly healed after a month’s recovery.

“The Nineheavens Pagoda?” Although her tone was chilly, it was still as melodious as a mountain creek. Cloudexit found his very bones relaxing.

“Why should I go to Nineheavens Pagoda?” Fengxian Wu looked unblinkingly at Cloudexit.

The young lord completely forgot about the situation he’d been in moments ago when he saw a beauty paying attention to him. He flipped his hair dashingly and whoosh! sent his long, charred hair drifting to the ground in pieces.

“Pfft!” Fengxian Wu couldn’t but help laugh when she saw this.

Cloudexit’s dark face turned even darker. He knew what had happened, but wasn’t at liberty to erupt in fury in front of a beauty.

“The Nineheavens Pagoda is the greatest sect in the Dark Orchid Empire. My father is a soul projection powerhouse and I am its future leader. If you go back with me, you would be the sect’s future mistress. It’s a life a thousand times better than being in a minor Lu Clan!” Cloudexit said proudly as he stroked his bald head.
