Chapter 4836: In The Remaining Lifetime (16)

“It’s a secret…” Little Bean kept him in the dark, which further piqued Mr. Tang’s curiosity.

Everyone enjoyed their meal, and Huo Mian finally met all the old friends she had known for many years.

She felt as if she had become a few decades younger and had returned to the past.

After many years, she had become more mature and calm, and her relationship with Qin Chu was as good as ever.

Qin Chu’s attitude towards Huo Mian was the same as when they first got married. He took care of her, cared for her, and loved her.

Sometimes, Huo Mian thought that she had the most beautiful things in the world.

But why did she feel like there was something she couldn’t let go of…

No matter how she thought about it, she could not recall it.

After dinner, everyone took a walk in the garden and chatted in groups, while the children played games.

The sun was setting…

Qin Chu accompanied Rick, Tang Chuan, and Wei Liao as they drank red wine and talked about business.

Jiang Xiaowei, Qin Ning, Zhu Lingling, Bella, and Jie were having afternoon tea in the room, chatting about gossip and fashion.

Huo Mian was supposed to go with them. She was intending to go to the wine cellar to get a bottle of red wine before returning.

However, on the way, she met Master Wu. He was holding a Buddha prayer bead and quietly meditating in a corner.

Everyone was used to him being like this. After all, he was a master in this field.

When Huo Mian came back with a glass of red wine, she happened to walk past him.

“Master Wu,” She smiled gently.

“Mian.” Master Wu opened his eyes and looked at Huo Mian like an elder looking at a child.

“It’ll be cold in here at night. I have a yoga room. You can meditate there. It’ll be more comfortable.”

“Are you still an ascetic?” Master Wu laughed.

Huo Mian smiled as well. Then, she suddenly thought of something and asked, “Master Wu, I have something I want to ask you.”

“Okay, ask away.”

Huo Mian walked over with a glass of red wine and sat down on the edge of the flower bed next to Master Wu.

Then she slowly recalled all her memories. “All these years, I’ve lived a happy life. I have a husband who loves me, two daughters, a son… a family that loves me and my friends… I have money and a career. I can go wherever I want and do whatever I want.”

“Isn’t that great? This is the dream for many people…” Master Wu said.

Huo Mian nodded. “Yes, I’m very content, but I feel like there’s something I haven’t remembered yet… I’ve forgotten about it… I feel like there’s a corner of my heart that’s sometimes empty and sometimes sad. It’s like… I’ve forgotten something important… someone important.”

Huo Mian tried her best to remember that feeling. All these years, she had never had a nightmare, nor had she dreamed of anyone other than her family.

That blurry shadow refused to even enter her dreams. She could only rely on her sharp sixth sense to keep feeling that something was amiss.

After hearing what Huo Mian said, Master Wu’s expression became complicated, but he quickly brushed it off.

After all, in front of someone as smart as Huo Mian, he couldn’t afford to make any mistakes. It wouldn’t be good if she found out.

Little Bean was right. He couldn’t let Huo Mian know about this.

After all, this was Su Yu’s last wish.

Master Wu could never tell her the whole truth, he could never tell her the truth about Su Yu.

“Master Wu, you’re a fortune-teller. Can you read my fortune and see if I’ve forgotten someone important in my life?” Huo Mian asked in a low voice.
