A strange, phantasmal, and dark entity. It emerged as a mass of darkness but quickly materialized into what looked like a big, three-meter-tall skeleton. It was floating in midair, covered by black robes made of darkness. Empty eyes were adorned with phantasmal flames, and the entire presence of the monster was nothing but absurdly dark and dreadful.
Miriam looked up into the creature while containing her own fear, this entity was way too powerful and… frightening to the core. Was this even a monster? It looked like the reaper himself, death incarnated into a monster.
"This is my Death Wraith! I caught him when I was a three-year-old child, hehe… Since then, he had been protecting me from the bad people." Said Shiso with an innocent tone of voice. But everybody knew that below that innocence there was a certain malice.
Miriam furrowed her eyebrows, as her golden aura, which she had no idea of having covered her body, protecting her from the dark malice emanating from this mysterious monster.
"Death Wraith… I had never heard of such a monster before…" Said Miriam. "But my Ryujin is mighty as well, we'll see who ends up winning at the end!"
"Hm, you got the spirit!" Said Shiso. "Nobody has ever been this brave after seeing my Death Wraith, you're really unique."
The referee quickly started the fight after their exchange of words, as Frank and the rest looked into the battle carefully. Frank's eyes were shining brightly, as he was looking into this strange creature. The voice of Hades whispered to him as well, alarmed.
"Oi, brat… that monster…" He said.
"I know, it is very powerful…" Sighed Frank. "I had never thought there would be monsters of this level in this tournament aside from my own."
"…And the amount of death power it has is insane too… Just what kind of creature is it?!" Wondered Hades, growing more alarmed as the seconds passed.
CLASH!
The enormous Death Wraith swung a giant scythe made of materialized bones and darkness against Ryujin, as the growing dragon leaped away from the powerful direct hit.
"Ryujin, Freezing Breath!" Said Miriam, ordering the dragon to attack with his powerful dragon breath, as he froze the temperatures around his throat and unleashed his water made into frozen ice dust!
FLUOOSH!
"?!"
The Death Wraith was incapable of making any sounds, but it looked astonished as the freezing breath of Ryujin ran around his bone weapon, freezing it on the spot and sticking it with his arms and body!
"Now, while it is distracted, use Water Arrow Barrage!" Miriam said, as Ryujin materialized several arrows made of spiraling water and fired them against the Death Wraith!
"Roar!"
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
"…?!"
The Death Wraith received the hits head-on, as it fell into the ground, tearing itself apart! It looked like it lose before it could even put a dent on Ryujin at all.
<br/>"Ah? That's it? It is very delicate!" Said Miriam while mocking the creature.
"AAAAHHH…"
Suddenly, the skull of the Death Wraith began to scream… the scream was so eerie and dreadful that many of the people surrounding the battlefield began to tremble in fear, and many felt a chill run down their spines.
"Fufu, my Death Wraith might be delicate but he can do this!" Laughed Shiso, as the skeleton suddenly reassembled itself from every tiny broken piece, and then, a dark force suddenly hit Ryujin out of nowhere! The Death Wraith had not even targeted him nor there was any power coming out from him, it was as if it was some sort of curse!
"GRAAHH…!"
"R-Ryujin?!"
Ryujin cried in surprise and pain, suddenly falling down into the ground as he began gasping for air. Frank desperately checked Ryujin's status, finding that he was Cursed. This Curse was incredibly odd though… it was called "Curse of Vengeance" and it triggered each time the Death Wraith received a certain amount of damage.
It randomly inflicted a status effect on the foe in question. Ryujin felt weakened as he was inflicted with Paralysis, weakening his muscles, and making them stiff and paralyzed.
"T-That's a curse!" Said Miriam.
"Exactly, my Death Wraith can curse those that damage him enough… And he can also reassemble himself and heal right away! After all, he's already dead anyways, right? Fufu, how are you going to go against my Wraith?" Wondered Shiso.
It was an incredibly unfair match! The power of the Death Wraith seemed to be very strange. It was capable of reassembling itself and recover at 100% no matter how much it was broken down, and whenever it accumulated enough damage, it would curse the target that inflicted such damage, causing a random status effect.
"Come on Ryujin, you can't stay in the floor like that!" Said Miriam, looking at the weakened Ryujin. Shiso began to laugh as he told his monster to attack Ryujin while he was in the floor.
"Well, that's how all my battles end, very quickly!" Laughed Shiso. "Death Wraith, smack him until he can't stay awake any longer! Fufu!"
"OOOOH!" The Death Wraith groaned ominously, as he swung his enormous bone scythe towards the small and young dragon!
"RYUJIN!" Miriam cried, as a ray of golden light came from her fingers, connecting to Ryujin's body and boosting his power! Ryujin suddenly began to glow gold as well, as the status effect inflicted on him quickly dissipated.
"ROOARR!"
Suddenly, the entire battlefield shook as Ryujin roared loudly! His entire body began to grow bigger, and even Frank was left speechless! The dragon suddenly leaped towards the Death Wraith, as both began to battle intensively.
Ryujin used his claws to easily slash through the Death Wraith's scythe and hands, breaking them apart and then eating the bones so they wouldn't go back to the original body!
"W-What? Don't eat them!" Said Shiso angrily.
"ROAR!" Ryujin roared loudly, as he suddenly unleashed a storm of water and ice, capturing the Death Wraith around a bubble made of spiraling water!
SPLAASH!
