Chapter 270: Dominance of the Gods, Absolute Servitude

The group entered the giant pit and soon arrived at the wormhole.

Going through the wormhole, they arrived at the world opposite the wormhole.

It was a planet, and a planet with life to boot. At first glance, a verdant green grassland could be seen.

There were prairies, streams, and tall mountains. It was a vibrant planet, but the concentration of Gene Arcana was very low.

“Not bad, if we plant the Arcana Trees here, in a few years’ time, this will be a good training place.”

Vulcan looked around with joy in his eyes. Any planet with life was inviting for Earthlings.

Be it for living or for terraforming into training grounds, the planet’s value could be maximized to enhance Earth’s strength.

“Not bad.”

Emperor Might nodded slightly as well, with a look of elation in his eyes.

“The rarest part of it this planet is its atmosphere; it is very close to that of Earth. The gravity and atmospheric pressure are basically the same!”

Ling Jiu smiled. “As long as we transform it a little, low-level Arcanists could live here. This is a very good planet.”

“That’s great!”

Everyone was joyous.

“Let’s go look around.”

Everyone was a planetary lifeform and able to fly, so they stood in the air as they took in the vista. This planet was indeed inhabited.

These inhabitants looked exactly the same as Earthlings, or rather, they resembled Europeans. All of them were herders, and they raised their animal flocks for a living.

Moreover, they were generally very weak. The strongest was no better than a Level 6 Arcanist while the weakest was only equal to Level 1 or Level 2 Arcanists.

“These inhabitants should be the descendants of those taken by the Celtic gods from Earth back then, or rather, the descendants of the Celtic pantheon.”

Emperor Might came to a conclusion. “After all, as those people are self-proclaimed gods, without worshippers, what’s the point of the gods living here in solitary?”

“It’s very possible.”

The group continued to wander around and discovered that although there were a lot of inhabitants there, things were no different from ancient times. Their technology was very backward since they were in a herder and agrarian society...

It was ancient and barbaric.

What left them speechless was when they flew over a tribe, all of the inhabitants there would kneel to them and pray.

It was clear that these inhabitants have been thoroughly brainwashed by the Celtic gods that when they see the group of people flying in the sky, they would instinctively worship them.

“A backward world dominated by the gods, and the intelligence of the people completely shackled!”

Ling Jiu shook his head, and this was the first time he had an aversion to the gods.

“The so-called gods are actually a selfish bunch.”

Vulcan, on the other hand, was quite straightforward. “They would do anything to hinder the development of the world beneath them in order to solidify their rule and godhood.”

“So, in a world dominated by the gods, there is no fertile ground for freedom technological advancement.”

“Indeed!”

Half an hour later, everyone arrived at a large mountain.

At this time, a roar of fury thundered from deep inside the mountain, and following that, a vast, tyrannical aura surged.

“Impudent mortal, you dare intrude upon the Divine Sanctum?”

“Hmmm?”

Everyone looked at each other before trailing their gaze towards the mountain.

The mountain was about a thousand feet tall, planted firm into the ground like a sharp blade.

Atop the mountain was a grand temple. The furious roar and roiling aura from earlier had come from that temple.

“Don’t worry, it should just be the remaining Celtic gods.”

Ling Jiu faintly said, “After all, how could a great pantheon have only six gods? come, let’s go and have a look.”

“Make sense!”

The group flew over, and this time, everyone was rather relaxed. The primary deity of the pantheon, the One-Armed Elder had already been killed by Ling Jiu. How much of a fuss could the remaining gods kick up?

When they arrived at the temple on the top of the mountain, they saw the square before the temple was full of people, or rather gods?

At a glance, there were sixteen of them.

These people were all stellar lifeforms, and most of them had an indifferent look in their eyes. They looked at Ling Jiu and the rest with no emotions, as though they were looking at a group of inanimate objects, a group of ants, a pile of rocks...

Their gaze had everyone speechless as Vulcan sneered. “They really think themselves gods, and us as mere mortals.”

“What a group of ignoramuses. With their minds limited like that, they will never achieve anything greater,” Emperor Might said with disdain.

“Indeed!”

Ling Jiu nodded.

All of them might be stellar lifeforms, but there was a vast difference in their minds and understanding.

As new-age Earthlings born in the 21st century, they knew the vastness of the universe and knew that there were more powerful beings out there. They were aware that stellar lifeforms were existences at the bottom of the universe. They were aware...

But these people were not!

They only knew about Earth and this land before them. They only knew that they were the high and mighty gods. That was all they knew...

So, they were no different than your average ignoramus, looking at the sky and feeling all too proud of themselves as they proclaimed themselves gods...

Only one word could describe them: Pitiful.

“Ling Jiu, what to do with these people?”

Emperor Might and Vulcan looked at Ling Jiu. After he had killed the One-Armed Elder and displayed his might, they had recognized his position.

The Arcanists, after all, spoke using strength.

“What else is there to say to a group of ignoramuses?”

Ling Jiu spoke casually and started to probe the Arcanas of the gods. He was doing it nonchalantly.

But he never thought that there would be a surprise.

Name: Epona Cernunnos

Race: Earthling

Arcana: Absolute Speed (Awakened, Replicable, Plunderable), Absolute Servitude (Awakened, Replicable, Plunderable)

“Absolute Speed? How fast is that? ”

Ling Jiu looked at this female god named Epona Cernunnos.

“Also, Absolute Servitude, is that an ability to enslave others?”

As Ling Jiu thought, he did not hesitate in giving out the order. “Replicate Absolute Speed, Plunder Absolute Servitude.”

Replication successful. Assimilate?

Plunder successful. Assimilate?

Ling Jiu did not rush to assimilate, and instead quietly used Void Devouring.

Instantly, all of the gods, the temple behind them, and the entire mountaintop were devoured by Ling Jiu. Even the void itself was devoured.

Then, the mountain top disappeared.

Everything on the top of the mountain disappeared.

They were... swallowed into the floating island.

Soon after, a black hole appeared directly before them.

(⊙o⊙)

Seeing this, Emperor Might, Vulcan, and the rest were all stunned. “What happened?”

“They suddenly disappeared?”

“Don’t worry, I’ve devoured all of them.” Ling Jiu explained.

“Oh, come on!”

Vulcan could not help but curse. “Brother Ling, can you say something first before you attack?! Suddenly striking like this is quite scary, you know?”

“It’s not that I did not want to explain things, but there was a god among them that have the Absolute Servitude Arcana!” Ling Jiu explained helplessly.

“I don’t know how powerful this Arcana is or if it can enslave others as its name suggests. I dared not take any risks, so I struck in silence.”

“Absolute Servitude!!”

Everyone exchanged glances. “The hell? There’s such a sinister Arcana?”
