Jian and Song Yu have been standing in front of the wall for the last ten minutes. Only a few minutes remain till the third trial starts. So they have been standing beforehand.

He and Song Yu have prepared. They have devised their plans, and they have to follow them to clear the trail.
They waited for five minutes. Jian saw the Thunder clouds around Song Yu have calmed down. He immediately looked up at the sky and saw that the clouds had stopped gathering.
He immediately looked at Song Yu and informed her. She then started to follow the step of the technique while waiting for the first strike.
When Jian informed her, she immediately knew that the first strike of the tribulation was coming, so she started to move according to the technique.
On the other side, Jian had also started to run his cultivation technique because the plan was to use the tribulation to depend on Song Yu's control over the method. So he had told her to be careful when the Thunder strikes. She only had the power of the tribulation and sent it towards him.
