The Blood Demon Cult Branch

As soon as the golden ship disappeared, a fiery-red figure appeared from the horizon and transformed into a red-browed elder. It was Shen Beiwang, the Peak Lord of Crimson Flame Peak.

“This is bad! I didn’t expect the Demon Emperor’s incarnation to have a large Teleportation Array Plate. The Holy Maiden must have been teleported to an ambush. They are in danger!” Shen Beiwang looked anxious as he took out an astrolabe – a device that can locate someone with a drop of the person’s blood – and injected his divine energy into it. When a bright light spot appeared on it, Shen Beiwang dropped a tiny amount of blood essence left behind by Xuantian Holy Maiden earlier.

“The Holy Maiden must be at the branch of Blood Demon Cult. I must go over immediately! I hope I can make it in time!”

Shen Beiwang was anxious as his figure flew into the air and turned into a fiery-red flying rainbow, rushing off in the direction of the Xuantian Holy Maiden.

...

A huge golden boat suddenly appeared in an ancient and majestic blood-red hall that was ten thousand feet wide. The walls were mottled black and red, exuding an ancient aura.

Nearly a hundred blood-red jade pillars had been erected in the hall with thousands of patterns of the demon races carved on them. Some had a single horn on their head and some had green scales on their bodies while others had blood-red hair or three eyes on their face. Some were also handsome but each of the carvings looked lifelike as they were all posed in the same way.

The blood-red jade pillars were wrapped with pitch-black chains as thick as buckets that were hooked upside down with the remains of human and beast corpses hanging on them. It was ghastly and terrifying.

Some of the human corpses hanging on the chains were clothed in Xuantian Holy Land robes and looked like they hadn’t died too long ago as blood was still dripping from their corpses.

These were most likely the Xuantian Holy Land disciples Meng Shaofeng mentioned were in charge of monitoring the Blood Demon Cult’s branch. But rather than still being alive and ready to attack as planned, they had long been captured by Blood Demon Cult, killed, and hung here as trophies.

There was also a strong stench of blood in the air, and it came from the blood pools scattered every few hundred feet all over the floor. Each was filled with red blood and seemed as if it would never dry up.

“What is this place?”

The people on the golden ship were shocked. They had just been in a valley in Black Tortoise Mountain Range and suddenly appeared in this strange place in the next moment. They felt helpless. freewebn(o)vel.com

The crescent-shaped spirit treasure of the Xuantian Holy Maiden slashed into the air but Meng Jiuxiao’s divine consciousness incarnation had already retreated to beyond the golden ship with Meng Shaofeng.

“Welcome to the Black Tortoise Mountain Range branch of Blood Demon Cult!”

A sharp and unpleasant voice suddenly rang out in the great hall. It was as if someone was scratching an iron nail against glass. Just the sound alone made one’s blood boil.

The largest blood pool in the center of the ancient great hall began to boil and a thin old man slowly rose from the blood pool.

This old man was wearing a Daoist hat and robe but the hat and Taiji diagram on his robe were black and red. His right hand held a blood-colored horsetail whisk that rested on his left hand. There was a strange smile on his face that made him look extremely evil.

[Name: Shang Wuqing]

[Identity: Branch Lord of the Blood Demon Cult’s Black Tortoise Mountain Range branch]

[Cultivation: Mid Stage of Might Realm]

...

Ye Chen’s eyebrows started to rise as he read this newcomer’s information. This guy was the Branch Lord of the Blood Demon Cult’s Black Tortoise Mountain Range Branch!

And this guy wasn’t an incarnation of his actual body. He was the real deal!

In other words, the Blood Demon Cult’s branch in this Black Tortoise Mountain Range had two Demon Emperors in Mighty Realm!

The Xuantian Holy Maiden and the others also realized this and their expression took a turn for the worse.

It had finally dawned on them that Blood Demon Cult had progressed beyond their expectations after so many years, to the point where a branch could consist of two Demon Emperors. They were truly in danger now!

The Xuantian Holy Maiden looked coldly at Shang Wuqing as she fearlessly said, “Who are you?”

“I am the Branch Lord of the Blood Demon Cult’s Black Tortoise Mountain Range branch, Shang Wuqing! I would like to welcome you by inviting you to your deaths!”

As soon as Shang Wuqing spoke, the blood pools in the great hall began to churn like boiling water and powerful demon cultivators emerged. Each of them stared at the entourage on the golden ship. The demon Qi emitted from their bodies converged into demonic clouds midair.

Next to Shang Wuqing was Meng Jiuxiao’s true body.

Two Demon Emperors had appeared at the same time!

“We’ve been ambushed!” Many of the disciples turned pale at their delayed realization.

They knew that they were doomed today.

The Holy Maiden wasn’t worried initially. Though others might not be aware, she knew that the Crimson Flame Peak Lord was on his way. free(w)ebnov(e)l

But now that two Demon Emperors had appeared, she wasn’t so confident anymore.

“Back then, your cult was annihilated by various major Holy Lands, pushing your people to live on in the dark. What makes you think that we won’t be able to do it again?” The Xuantian Holy Maiden was trying to stall for time until Crimson Flame Peak Lord’s arrival.

With Shen Beiwang’s cultivation already at the Mid Stage of Might Realm, he would at least have a chance to go up against one of these Demon Emperors.

As for the other, she was simply hoping to at least hold him back with her full power so that the other disciples would be able to find a chance to escape!

If her cultivation base was at the Peak Stage of Primordial Realm, she was confident that she could take on a Might Realm expert. She might even be able to kill him by pushing her limits slightly into Might Realm. However, she had just broken through to Primordial Realm not long ago and her cultivation base had just stabilized. Stalling a Demon Emperor was the most she could do.

If she were to only think of herself, she was confident she could escape. But how then would she be able to continue being the Holy Maiden? She would have no dignity left to remain in that position.

Unfortunately for the Xuantian Holy Maiden, Shang Wuqing had seen through her plans. But he did not mind as he casually said, “Well, I guess there’s no harm in telling you this: there’s a Demonic Abyss Crack in Xuantian Holy Land, which means that we will attack your home base not too far in the future.”

“Attack Xuantian Holy Land? You might think you’ve gotten very powerful over the years, but you’re clearly underestimating the foundation of a Holy Land. If you’d like to attack and win against Xuantian Holy Land, you will need at least a Demon Saint Realm expert!”

But Shang Wuqing simply shook his head and indifferently said, “I know you are stalling for time. I’m guessing that you have backup on the way. Well, I just hope he will be able to find you. If you’re thinking you will be able to get out of here alive, then I shouldn’t have exposed ourselves so quickly since it would be quite shameful for us to lose just like that.”

The Xuantian Holy Maiden was shocked. Were they planning to kill the Crimson Flame Peak Lord too?

Where did their confidence come from?
