His mother then burst into tears which surprised everyone because after all Gwendolyn was the Luna of their pack, she was a strong woman and a powerful mage recognized by the other packs, and whether it was the mother or the wife she had rarely shown moments of weakness in front of them.
Axel’s brothers and sister looked at him with a complicated expression, they had just learned that they had an older brother a week ago, and their older brother once in front of them had just proclaimed that he could take the place of their grandfather who was the Supreme Alpha without a problem.
Even their father who was the Alpha of their pack was no match for their grandfather, and what was even more curious for them was that their grandfather seemed to agree to let him take his place.
As for Axel, while he was consoling his mother as best he could, because apart from stroking her back and telling her that everything was fine he didn’t know what else to do, and he could also feel the mixed feelings that his siblings had towards him which made him sad.
He then used their link to communicate with Kevin and he told him, feeling a little heartbroken, ‘Babe, help me, how am I supposed to calm her down… And my siblings find me arrogant and don’t trust me…’
Kevin frowned hearing that but he told him to reassure him, ‘For your mother, just let her cry, she’ll feel better afterwards… And for the rest of your family, I think it would be fine once you show them some of your powers, like that they’ll know you weren’t arrogant and just wanted to help them.’
Kevin then felt like a stab in his heart, but he soon realized that this was the pain that Axel’s wolf side was feeling, because he really felt rejected by his own family.
And so he decided to go and talk directly to his siblings because he couldn’t let his husband feel as distressed as he was now.
He started to walk towards his family with a determined step but Axel the grandfather immediately came between him and them when he saw the golden glow in Kevin’s eyes, and their father joined him right after because he could feel a threatening aura coming from this boy.
Kevin stopped immediately and he glared at them because he was angry that they could think he was a threat to them and so he said : “I just want to talk to them… I’m not going to do anything to them so you can all relax, but my husband is suffering because he feels rejected by his so-called siblings and I can’t do nothing knowing what they think of him.”
Axel the grandfather then looked at him surprised and Kevin suddenly removed his sweater and the golden mark that Axel had made on him was then visible to everyone.
The father then joined his children wondering what they could have done or thought to anger this human who really didn’t seem to be kidding, and Axel the grandfather remained where he was too shocked by the appearance of this mark on Kevin’s neck to move.
Kevin then addressed to Axel’s siblings directly, looking at them one by one even though Axel the grandfather was still between him and them : “If you really think that my husband is an arrogant person because he just wants to protect his family then it’s up to you to believe that, but you should know that Axel is the most honest and generous man I know.”
He then said to them clenching and unclenching his fists to try to control his anger : “His wolf side is so powerful that he can feel everything you feel, and instead of judging him as you are doing, you should rather try to get to know him, he is your brother after all, you should support him or at least give him a chance.”
Kevin then put his hand on his mark and he said to them : “This mark has been done by his wolf side because he wanted to mark me as you mark your mates.
It links me directly to all his emotions and with your stupid thoughts you are making him suffer.”
He then added because it really made him mad : “Do you have any idea what it feels like to grow up alone without family to support you, without anyone to hug you to comfort you, without anyone to encourage you and tell you that you did well.
Can you imagine the immense joy he felt when he learned that he had siblings and the distress that just overwhelmed him by feeling rejected by all of you… Of course you can’t, you will never know what it feels like to be alone because you’ve always been together…”
Axel then cut him off and he said, “Kev, enough babe…”
Kevin then turned to him and he felt that his wolf side was appeased, Axel was smiling at him and it was a sincere smile that expressed all the love and tenderness he felt for him.
He smiled back at him and he saw that his mother had stopped crying and was looking at her children with a threatening look.
Gwendolyn then approached him and she took him in her arms without even hesitating for a second which took him completely off guard, and he couldn’t help but stiffen because he still didn’t like being touched by strangers.
And even though it was Axel’s mother, he didn’t know her enough yet to be able to be at ease with this kind of demonstration of affection.
She then said to him when she felt him tense : “Thank you Kevin, now I’m sure that my son is in good hands.”
She moved away from him a little and she stroked his cheek before saying : “I will take care of this misunderstanding with his siblings, don’t worry.
You and Axel are also my sons now and I will always be there to encourage you, to hug you and to support you in your choices.”
