After knocking out Frono FC in style and getting that revenge they've always wanted, Unique FC players got another day off.

Their next match was on Thursday after all so it was best to rest on Tuesday and then return to training on Wednesday.

Dave got up that morning and quickly kicked it off with his daily workout.

It started with a short run of course and after that, he returned to his gym.

After spending some time there working on his legs especially, he walked out to the lawn with a ball.

'So, how's your morning going, Catherine?' He asked

<My morning is always great, thanks for asking>

'Yeah, it's always like that. So, Catherine.'

<Huh?>

'What will happen if I suddenly stop training?'

<Really? What happens when a football player, any football player stops training?>

'Well, naturally, they'll decline in performance.'

<There's your answer>

'That makes sense but none of the things that have happened to me so far is natural so I wanted to know.'

<You won't really understand now, Dave, but everything that has happened to you apart from the rate of your growth has been natural>

'Huh?'

<You're not going to understand even if I explain it to you now, so I won't, you'll find out about it toward the end of your journey>

'Now you're just confusing me.'

<Don't worry about it, it's really not that important>

'Okay, so how will my decline happen, are my stats going to drop, my skills drop in level?'

<Your stats are going to drop but if you get back to training again, they'll start going up>

'And my skills?'

<Nothing will happen to them, they can't go down in level>

'Oh, so the moral of this conversation is never stop training.'

<Yeah, basically but your stats are still going to drop>

'Huh? Why's that?'

<Once you get to a certain age, your stats will suddenly start dropping not rapidly but slowly>

'Oh, and what age is that?'

<You'll have to find that out for yourself>

'I'm guessing late thirties because that's when most players start dropping form.'

<A reasonable guess>

'So?'

<No, I'm not telling you>

"Fine," Dave muttered.

After that, he brought the ball down and gave it a little kick, it rolled toward the hedge of flowers and hid between them as soon as it got there.

After that, the goalkeeper turned toward the door and made his way into the house.

He entered the house to find Emma sitting on the couch in the living room.

She had already gotten dressed for work and was applying a little makeup on her face now.

"I was wondering when you were going to walk in here." She said with her gaze on her mirror.

"You were watching me from upstairs, weren't you?" Dave said as he made his way to her.

"Not really, I just took a little gaze outside and found you there, I didn't look for long though." She replied.

"I doubt that." He said before slowly sitting down beside her.

"Of course you do."

"So, how's my little baby girl doing?" He asked before placing his hand on her stomach.

"It's your little baby boy and according to the doctor yesterday, he's doing fine." She replied.

"That's great news, too bad she hasn't shown her form as a girl yet, I wonder what she will think in the future when I tell her that her mother wanted her to be a boy."

"Hmph, in your dreams." She said before turning her gaze to him.

Dave wanted to say something but stopped as soon as he made eye contact with her.

"So, how long are you going to be working today?" He asked.

"Not for long, I'll be back by five." She said before getting up from the couch.

"Okay," Dave said before getting up from the couch too. "Then, I'll just." He added before leaning closer to kiss her.

It was just a short kiss.

"What are you going to be doing, today? Are you planning on going anywhere?" She asked.

"Not really." He replied before shaking his head.

"So, you're just going to stay at home and do nothing?"

"No, Mateo's coming over later, we have plans that involve playing games for now, we may decide to go out who knows." He expressed with a shrug.

"Right, Mateo, the only friend you have in your team."

"He's not my only friend in my team but he is the only one that I really trust and feel super relaxed around, I was about to say it was a family thing until I realized that your dad existed."

"I get your point." She sighed. "Speaking about Mateo, did anything happen back at Villarreal?"

"You mean with Sofia and Amber?"

"Yeah, how on earth did he get caught up between two friends? These kinds of things never end well for anybody."

"Fate," Dave muttered with a shrug. "Don't worry about it though, I'm sure he knows what to do."

"I hope so, maybe I should have kept Amber away from him."

"Huh?"

"Nothing." She said before shaking her head. " I'll get going now."

Dave kept his gaze on her until she was gone and after that, he crashed down on the couch.

Mateo arrived at the goalkeeper's place by 11:00 AM and after chatting for a while, they got straight into their video games.

It was Fifa of course, where Dave kept on getting bullied despite using arguably the best team in the game.

After losing for the seventh time in a row, he gave up and got up from the couch.

"This isn't fun if I keep losing all the time." He said as he made his way to the kitchen.

<It's not his fault that you keep losing all the time, what do you want him to do, let you win?>

'Not really but he doesn't have to destroy me like that all the time.' He replied subconsciously as he opened the freezer and took out a bottle of water.

He returned to the living room with a bottle of water and two cups.

There was a little moment of silence in the room after the both of them poured some water down their system.

It didn't take long for Dave to find something to talk about though.

"Hey, I got a news report this morning about something pretty interesting." He said.

"About what?" Mateo asked before turning his gaze to him.

"Well, four players from our team were nominated for team of the month."

"And who are those?" The winger asked.

He was already sure that his name was going to be there and he had a rough idea of who the other three could be but he was still going to ask.

"We have Roland, Minino, me, and you." The goalkeeper said.

"Oh, that's interesting, Roland and Minino didn't make it last month so it's nice to see him there this month."

"Yeah, and you're finally going to win that Player of the Month award you were supposed to win last month.

Mateo only replied with a nod to that before picking up his controller.

"If you want to play that, you'll have to do it alone, I'm tired of getting beaten over and over again."

"How about we try something else then?"

"No, how about we pause video games for now?"

"Okay, what do you want to do then?" Mateo asked.

"Hm….we could go watch an illegal underground boxing match."

"You know where we can go watch an illegal underground boxing match?" Mateo said with a startled look on his face.

Dave stared at him with an expressionless face for a while before saying.

"No, I was just kidding."

As soon Mateo heard that, he let out a sigh of relief.

"I didn't know you were this scared of doing illegal stuff." The goalkeeper said with a little chuckle. "Anyway, Dynamo FC's match should be near its end now, how about we check that out?"

"Okay."

After disconnecting the screen from the PlayStation, Dave used the remote to tune into the exact sports channel where Dynamo FC versus Rojo Sturm United was being streamed.

It didn't take him long to get to the channel but the reaction from both players was one of immense shot.

The score line was eight goals to zero when he tuned in to the channel but right now, it has just gone to nine goals to zero after Frank sent a volley right into the goalpost from outside the box.

"That's his third goal from outside the box, what a hat trick!" Jim exclaimed. "Rojo Sturm are surely wishing they never came here today."

"Nine goals?" Dave said with a shocked expression on his face.

"The closest we came to seeing this kind of scoreline was Supreme United's seven-one victory against Unique FC last season, Dynamo FC are showing no mercy here today." Steve expressed.

<Well, they're getting relegated that's for sure>
