"Unique FC are still behind and they are struggling to get control over the game, FC Basel just stung them by surprise but they need to snap out of it quickly if they want to come back from this one." Jim expressed.

Henrique raced down the wing with Roland hot on his trail. He had to quickly pull back to get the left back out of the way a little before he sent the ball flying toward the edge of the box.

Hans was right there to receive the ball, and just before Adolf could get to him, he fired the volley toward the goalpost.

"Hans!"

The ball was sent flying toward the left side of the goalpost but Dave dived right on cue to catch the ball with both of his hands before crashing to the floor.

"Close save from Dave, it would be a disaster if they concede a third goal and he doesn't want that to happen," Jim said.

The goalkeeper quickly got up from the floor and rushed to the edge of the box before he threw the ball up and sent it flying into the pitch toward Mateo.

Mateo contested for the ball with the midfielder there after bringing it down but with a little bit of wriggling and luck, the winger managed to get the ball past him.

"Mateo's still with the ball."

The winger got closer to the left back who had been moving back to gain the proper ground to stop him.

The winger could have attempted to dribble past him and get inside the box but instead, he pushed the ball a little to the left and continued racing down the wing.

The ball had almost gone past the line for a goal kick when he floated it into the box.

"He's floated it in, is there anyone there to make good use of it?"

Fredinho quickly got past the defenders to leap high into the air and nod the ball toward the goalpost but the ball ended up hitting the right post even though Fillip was glued to the spot.

"Oh, it hit the woodwork, but it's not over yet."

Merino quickly got to the rebound at the nick of time just before the defender close to the area could get to it, but his shot ended up hitting the post before rolling out for a goal kick.

"Oh, another woodwork hit," Jim said.

"Although, they've been a bit lackluster since the start of the match, I think they've been quite unlucky with their chances, that header from Fredinho could have gone in at least because Filip wasn't even going after it."

"Oh, come on." Merino stomped his foot on the ground in anger before slowly turning around.

The match continued till the fortieth minute, and so far Unique FC were doing pretty well in holding their ground and preventing another goal from happening.

The ball was sent flying in from the left by Reto and Felix managed to get his head to it, but the headed shot didn't have much power to it, and it was sent flying directly toward Dave who didn't have any trouble catching it.

Unique FC got pretty good chances too; two shots from Mateo were stopped by Filip for his teammates to clear it, the winger even managed to set up Fredinho with a beautifully timed pass inside the box, but Fredinho happened to have been a little bit slow as Filip got to the ball and quickly picked it up to prevent anything from happening.

"Oh, that was a very close chance for Unique FC to make the game leveled once again but it was not meant to be," Steve said.

Unique FC still had more ball possession, it was just a five percent difference but despite that, it was clear that they were being outplayed by FC Basel.

The match hit the forty-fifth minute and still Unique FC had not been able to get that equalizer and as if that wasn't enough, they had just conceded a free kick right at the edge of the box after Hans was brought down by Adolf under a not-so-good challenge.

The captain was shown a yellow card for that challenge which he didn't complain about, he was just glad that it didn't happen inside the box.

Unique FC had formed their four-man wall inside the box and they made sure to put someone below, they didn't want to take any chances.

"This could be FC Basel's chance to go two goals clear, but the question is if Henrique will be able to do it properly," Jim said.

Henrique was standing over the ball waiting for the referee's whistle and as soon as he heard it, he took three steps backward before he quickly closed up on the ball and sent it flying toward the goalpost.

"Henrique!"

The winger sent the ball flying toward the top right side of the goalpost with a powerful shot, but Dave was fast enough to get to it on time and tip it over the bar.

"Oh, my goodness, what a magnificent save from Dave!" Jim exclaimed.

As soon as that ball went over the bar, the referee blew his whistle twice to bring the first half to an end.

"That's the whistle," Steve said.

"What a magnificent first half this has been, I was expecting FC Basel to put up a show but I didn't expect them to act up this early." Jim expressed. "Unique FC haven't been at their best so far, but they could have gotten a couple of goals from the really good chances, they're still having that finishing problem."

"Yeah, and despite conceding two goals, Dave Richards has really turned up for them in this match, FC Basel would be at least two goals up by now," Steve said.

"Well, everyone agrees that this was quite an interesting first half and we'll be looking forward to how the second half will play out."

Unique FC players were all in the locker room now with Norman standing in front of them, his arms were crossed and he didn't have the most pleasant look on his face.

"How can we go out there and throw away our lead like that? We struggled to beat them in Switzerland and now they come to our home and look at what they're doing to us." He said. "Even if we manage to equalize it, they still have the upper hand with the away goal advantage."

"Then we just have to equalize the current scoreline, not just the aggregate scoreline, right?" Minino said.

"How? With the way, you guys played in the first half?"

"We're trying our best, coach." The midfielder muttered.

"You guys aren't getting things right, but I am also be blamed if we are to be completely honest here, I used the same tactic I used last week against them without even thinking about their coach studying that tactic and coming up with a countermeasure but despite that, we should be leading this match now if you guys had converted the good chances Mateo had been creating and you too, Mateo, you've missed a couple of good chances, it's not exactly like you."

As soon as he turned his gaze to the winger, he slowly put his head down.

"But don't worry guys, I have a new set of tactics and I'm sure they will be able to get us back into this game." He said as a smile suddenly appeared on his face.
