'Why is this so painful, Catherine? You said it wasn't that serious.'

<I'll assume you've never gotten injured since you started your career, or else you wouldn't be asking this question>

'I've gotten into a few scuffles but none of them had an aftermath that felt like this.'

"Hey, Dave."

The goalkeeper slowly opened his eyes to see Mateo squatting over him with his hand placed on his shoulder.

He was still groaning slowly with his right hand placed on his twisted ankle.

Mateo was boiling inside now, he knew Jonas had done what he did on purpose, that slide was so uncalled for.

"It was just a rondo, not a match where you had to bring down the opponent by all means, and even at that, you got to the ball and still decided to go for his leg." The winger said before shooting a glare at the left back.

"What are you talking about? I wasn't able to stop after getting to the ball so I ended up bringing him down." There was not a single ounce of remorse in his voice and he didn't even bother to say that it wasn't intentional.

There was nothing more Mateo could do other than glare at him as he walked away.

<You've never gotten along with him, but he's starting to take things to a whole different level>

'What are you saying?'

The goalkeeper could no longer think straight or hear Catherine's voice properly because of the pain he was feeling in his ankle, the pain wasn't fading away, it was just getting more intense.

It didn't take long for the medical team to get to the goalkeeper to treat his leg.

They discovered that it was a twisted ankle quickly and then treated it as much as they could before putting an ankle brace support on the leg.

The pain was reduced a bit after that treatment as the goalkeeper was able to sit on the floor now and his groaning had slowed down.

"So, what's his status?" Norman asked before turning his gaze to the leader of the medical team who was a blonde-haired female that seemed to be in her early thirties.

"It's not that serious so he'll probably be out for a week or five days at the very least." She replied before crossing her arms.

"A week? Five days?" The goalkeeper muttered with a shocked expression on his face.

"So, he'll miss the match against Dynamo FC," Norman said.

"There's only a day left before that match, so yeah, he won't be fit enough to partake in it."

"I see," Norman said before bringing down his head.

His voice had dropped, Dave was going to be very useful for them against Dynamo FC but now he was out injured.

After observing everywhere for a while, the blonde female turned her gaze to Dave who didn't have the happiest expression on his face.

"This is quite unfortunate Mr. Richards, but you'll have to head home and rest so that your injury will heal faster, this training session is over for you." She expressed.

All of the players were gathered around the goalkeeper apart from Jonas who was sitting on the bench trying to examine himself.

'I don't like him very much but I didn't really intend to injure him, he's become a formidable goalkeeper over a short period of time. Having him on the pitch against Dynamo FC will be very crucial but now, that's not going to happen because of me.'

Just as those thoughts went through his mind, he folded both of his hands into fists and gritted his teeth.

"Hey, let me help you up," Mateo said before he grabbed him by his shoulder and slowly helped him up.

After that, he put his arm around his shoulder and began to lead him toward the tunnel.

"Oh, dear," Alexander said before slowly putting his gaze down.

"What's wrong, Alex?"

The goalkeeper quickly turned his gaze to the right to see Roland standing there.

"Um.... It's just that I feel guilty for being happy that now I will get to start in the match against Dynamo FC." The young goalkeeper said.

"Oh, so that's it," Roland said before turning his gaze toward the tunnel to see Mateo and Dave disappear down it. "I understand how you feel, but you shouldn't feel guilty because of that."

"Why is that?"

"You're not the cause of his injury, are you? It's not bad for our body to react happily when we get something we've always wanted, so there's no need to feel guilty, but if you're celebrating solely because Dave got injured and you're wishing for him to be out for as much time as possible, then there's a problem." Roland expressed.

"Oh, I see," Alexander said before turning his gaze away from the left back.

Outside the building, Mateo had gotten Dave to his car and was helping him get inside now.

"If you want, I'll drive home with you and help you get to where you'll be comfortable until my sister comes back." The winger said.

"No, that's not necessary, you should go back and continue training for the upcoming match, I think I'll be able to handle myself from here onwards." The goalkeeper said.

"Are you sure?"

"Yeah, everything will be okay, just go." He said with a smile on his face.

"Okay, then." Mateo smiled back at him. "I hope you get home safe, I wish this never happened."

"Me too, but it has already happened, and there's nothing we can do about it, you guys will just have to scale through that match without me."

"Yeah, we'll do our best." The winger replied with a nod.

"Alright, then, I'll see you later." The goalkeeper said before he closed the door and started his car's engine.

Dave stood there with his gaze on the car until it left the area and was out of sight before he turned and began to make his way back into the building.

Dave drove home still feeling a little bit of twitching but that was nothing compared to what he felt earlier.

He was able to get home in ten minutes and after parking his car in his parking spot, he relaxed in his seat and let out a deep sigh.

After staying in the car for about three minutes, he slowly opened the door to step down from the car.

He supported himself by placing his hand on his car until he closed the door and locked the car.

The first step he took toward the front door resulted in him almost crashing to the floor, but he was able to get to the wall fast and that was just the support he needed.

<You should have allowed him to come with you>

'No, Catherine, I can do this.'

With the help of the walls, he was able to get to the door, and after opening it, he staggered into the house and crashed to the floor.

"Well, this is funny." He said before closing the door from the floor.

After that, he slowly got up from the floor and staggered to the living room and after getting there, he crashed down on the couch.

"That's relaxing." He said before letting out a sigh of relief.

<I can imagine>

He stared silently at the ceiling for a while before he decided to ask Catherine something.

'Hey, Catherine, this system allows me to do a lot of unbelievable things, can't it help me heal fast?'

<Yeah, the system enables you to heal faster than the normal human but not by the much>

'So, what are you saying?'

<The woman said that you were going to be out for five days at least, you'll be back to normal in four days>

'Oh, I'm really going to be out of it for a while.'
