"One of the essential elements that a mage needed to improve are resources. Of course, you can use the resources that you have!"

"However, do not forget what this class is for. This class is to help all of you obtain wisdom and you cannot cheat in any way!"

"The bracelets you are wearing can detect the flow of mana inside your bodies. If it detects any abnormality, it will glow brightly with a red color while issuing a loud sound. Don't even think about using any treasure to increase the raw power that you currently have. If you are found to be cheating, the Trsyt Academy's Cell of Freezing Hell will await you!"

The Assistant Instructor explained. Since resources are one of the things that a mage needed to reach the peak, why should the academy stop them from consuming whatever resources they could get their hands on as long as they don't cheat?

As such, the students are free to use whatever they have to improve their wisdom much to Rezen's delight

After receiving the answer that he wanted, Rezen went to one corner with his magic books before sitting down

He retrieved another glass bottle from his spatial ring and it was also the juice of a mutated Spirit Plant that is the combination of Clear Mind Potion and Hyperfocus Basil

The names of these resources are pretty explanatory. The Clear Mind Potion helps to clear and relax the mind. It helps to lessen distractions and remove unnecessary thoughts that might distract the consumer

As for the Hyperfocus Basil, it is a Spirit Plant that is a bit rare. As its name implies, it helps the mage focus on a specific thing

Upon consuming, the Spirit Plant could help the mage cast spells faster than before when they are in a battle or use them in the same way that Rezen intended

Mages can use the Hyperfocus as mental supplement whenever they are studying something whether that be the mysteries of magic or a magic spell

Of course, there are few mages that use the Hyperfocus Basil in this way as although they are not extremely rare and expensive, they are nearing that level. Not just any random mage could possibly have the luxury to use such expensive Spirit Plants as study supplements

As for Rezen, he might not possess a lot of money but as long as he has the seeds, he can plant them and it's only a matter of time before they grow

He can have an endless supply of the Hyperfocus Basil when necessary

Rezen uncapped the glass bottle and drank its content and the juice immediately came into effect

His mind felt clearer than before as if he can absorb any and all information poured at him. He immediately forgets everything around him and his mind focuses on the book of magic in his hand

The words of the book floated inside his head and he is slowly but surely understanding and digesting this information

——

3 whole hours passed. Most of the students decided to try and attack the crystals multiple times but any damage that the crystals received would be recovered in a short period of time

The students tried everything they could and pushed themselves passed the limits. However, they still failed to destroy the crystal. As such, they had no choice but to listen to the professor's advice

They grabbed some books about magic and although they already read and learned almost everything that the books stated they don't have a choice but to read them over and over again

Memorizing the books' content was not enough. They have to turn the knowledge into their own wisdom. Only then would they be able to destroy the crystal

"Assistant Instructor, can you please explain this part about how mana flow should be controlled by the mage in a systematic manner? The wordings are quite vague" One of the students named Rezen asked the Assistant Instructor while showing the part he is having trouble understanding

"Oh, that? This part is actually hard to say in specific words. There are many ways in which mages control the flow of their mana. Some ways are regarded better than others but just because they are better does not mean that they are the best for a specific mage"

"We still have our own individuality and what might come easy and strong to others might do the opposite to another person. You can try immersing yourself in the feeling of controlling your mana flow in different ways to find what you find the most comfortable or I can teach you some of the ways that most mages think are better than normal"

Thereb passionately explained that specific part of the book. Over the course of three hours, Rezen already asked him a lot of questions. He was the student that asked the most questions truthfully speaking

However, even then, Thereb was more than happy to answer all these questions as it shows that Rezen has the drive to improve. That is something that the teachers would appreciate about their students

It was not a big deal for him to answer Rezen's questions

"Thank you. My physical body is a level higher than my soul, I think it's better if I try to figure this out on my own first. I'll ask for your teachings on the mana flow if I can't figure it out on my own" Rezen replied and he didn't waste any time

He went to a corner near the instructor and this time he didn't return to read the books but sense in what way he could make his mana flow in the most comfortable manner

Learning requires intelligence and intelligence is related to the soul and although Rezen's soul is not bad for his rank, it was still his physical body that is of a higher quality

If he trains by moving his mana inside him to sense the technique that feels the most comfortable he would be able to progress faster than learning multiple techniques

After all, sensing the changes happening inside his body is more related to his physical body and instincts. He has a better physique than a better soul. It's easier to sense subtle changes in his body that use his mind to learn the techniques from the professor

The way that Rezen was studying seriously affected his classmates and they also had the drive to improve themselves. They are not willing to lose to a nepo baby

Rezen might have already shown his might but it was not enough to completely remove everyone's prejudice against him

"Rez—" Treen wasn't even able to finish calling Rezen's name when the man already cut him off

"Later, I'm busy" Rezen said with his eyes close. He was moving his mana inside of him in a different manner to see what is the best technique that suited him

As a result, Treen can only purse his lips and he was also seemingly affected by how studious Rezen is to the point that he started to study more seriously than before

Another two hours passed and the Assistant Instructor stomped his foot on the ground to gather everyone's attention. Even Rezen was forced out of his training mode to look at Thereb

"It has been five hours and none of you are able to destroy the crystal..." he said while looking at each and every one of the students that lowered their heads in shame

"Hahahaha! What is that look for? Do you think that this is something that can be solved in a matter of hours? Of course not!"

"This is why I said that you will live your lives with the bracelets on. This is not something that can be solved in a day or two! It takes time that can range from a week to an entire month depending on how talented you are!"

"For now, you are free to go back to your dorms and do whatever you want. You can rest, have fun, or whatever and we don't care. But! But if you performed below the academy's expectations, expect to be expelled!"

"This is a lesson to all of you. The Theory Class might be boring but you need it. Starting tomorrow, listen to your theory class Instructor attentively! You will learn many things and tips from your Instructor. If you listen to him and you are at least a bit talented, it's only a matter of time before one of you manages to destroy the crystals and claim the prize!"

With that, the students are dismissed for the day. While this made the academy something like a relaxing place, that was far from the truth

Sure, the students have a lot of freedom to do whatever they wanted. However, that is not free from any consequences. If the students failed to reach the expectations of the academy then they would be expelled. As such, even if they have free time, they must still use it to better themselves
