As usual, the whiny little snake complained as it slammed its head on Rezen's cheeks
As a second-rate academy, there are naturally many mages that could kill someone like Rezen and Belazark even if they were to join hands
This cowardly snake that wants to live a peaceful and simple life does not want to live in a place where there are countless people that could kill it. It would rather stay inside the secret room back in the desert its whole life
"Stop complaining. This is an opportunity for both of us! If you don't want to be in a life where many strong people have enough power to kill you then raise your cultivation rank! As long as you are powerful enough then even if the entire realm joined hands to kill you that still would be useless!" Rezen replied before slapping the snake's head from his cheeks as if he was merely swatting a fly
"You overestimate me, Master! I can't possibly have that kind of power even if I try!"
"You still haven't tried yet! With me as your Master, do you really think that is impossible? Just how many Spirit Plants I have fed you?!"
Rezen is confident that if his farm's level was high enough then he could turn even a trash into an extremely talented mage. What more for Belazark that is not exactly talentless and just lazy and lacks self-confidence
This snake was even able to grow from the 3rd cycle to the 4th cycle just by consuming the resources that Rezen gave to it. If not for Rezen forcing this little bastard, it wouldn't even cultivate!
"I still don't want to live in the academy!" Belazark insisted but what could it do? It's not like the decision-making power was in its hands... not that it actually has hands
Rezen approached the boot attached to the academy gates while showing two tokens to the guard
The first token was a heart-shaped bronze token with the number '1' on it while the other was green in color and has the image and aura of Belazark. It was proof that Belazark is a familiar of Rezen
The heart-shaped token with the number '1' on it means that Rezen is a first-semester student of the Tryst Academy
Instead of differentiating students depending on the years that they spent at the academy, they are instead differentiated by semester since the academy doesn't accept students once every year. Academies accept students every 3 months. Because of that, there might be some confusion if the students are differentiated based on the number of years they spent in the academy
Two different students could have entered the academy in the same year but one of them was admitted 6 months ago while the other was admitted only 3 months ago. As such, there is a need to categorize the students based on the semester
The staff stared at Rezen for a bit thinking that it was familiar before it clicked on him and he immediately became respectful
By now, Rezen's reputation already spreads to many people inside the academy
Most of the academy staff knew to act in front of different people with different background
Since the academy blatantly helped Rezen cheat on the admission test and he is a friend of a student possessing the Headmaster's token at the very least most staff would not show their displeasure on Rezen while he was present
The staff took out a paper talisman after receiving Rezen's student token. He placed the talisman on top of the token and injected his mana into it
Soon, the paper talisman bursts into flames and turned into ashes
"Your student token now has more features. You could access your schedule, the map of the academy, and also receive announcements with your talisman amongst other things. For now, the entrance ceremony will be held soon and the ceremony's location is already marked on the map. Please proceed there" the staff explained respectfully. He don't have a high status and he doesn't want to get into trouble with a VIP
"Thank you" Rezen said before he was allowed to enter the academy
He retrieved his flying stick from his spatial ring to head to the site where the entrance ceremony will be held while feeling a bit excited
That was not because that he is finally a student of a great academy. This was because he was looking forward to the reward he would receive
After 'passing' the last test which was the written examination, Rezen was informed that the admission reward for the students will be given in the entrance ceremony
Since the Headmaster said that she would make sure that Rezen will receive a great reward he was naturally looking forward to it
The shame he experienced in the admission test is worth it since he passed easily and will even receive a great reward soon!
It didn't take that long before Rezen arrived at the venue. It was an open space with the ground filled with vibrant green glass. There was also a platform erected and Rezen guessed that the platform is the place for the instructor
As soon as Rezen arrived tens of pairs of eyes landed on him but he maintained a composed demeanor
Out of the hundreds of people that attended the admission test there was at the very least fifty of them that passed
"Look, isn't that him?"
"Yeah, that's the nepo baby"
"You know I kinda hate him but when I informed my family about the test this semester they were surprised. They said that the admission test this time was too easy!"
"That's also what my family said! Is it because of that bastard? Did they lower the tests' difficulties so that he could pass?"
"Considering how the academy blatantly helped him cheat that is not impossible!"
"Still, I hate him. With how biased the academy is, all the opportunities, and resources that we could compete for might be given to him. If that's the case then it doesn't matter that we passed the admission test easier than normal!"
As usual, the other people around talked about Rezen and their theory answered a question that was on his mind ever since the admission test
Rezen has to admit that he passed the admission test easily but he still thinks that the tests were too easy. He was expecting a harder admission test considering that Tryst Academy is a second-rate academy. But after hearing the discussion of his schoolmates the low level of difficulty might be because of him
Minutes passed and all the mages that passed finally arrived at the venue and soon the instructor also showed herself
Just like back in the admission test, white feathers appeared on top of the platform and the feathers condensed into a middle-aged mage. This was the same mage as the one that facilitates the academy admissions
"Good morning everyone. I am the Head Instructor your batch; Mage Yero Feather. You can call me Instructor Feather. I want to start this day by congratulating all of you for passing the admission test and becoming part of the Tryst Academy. I am optimistic about your future. I hope that all of you at the very least reach the Senior Mage Rank" she started her speech amidst the impatience of the students
They also know that they would be given the admission reward today and they cannot wait to receive them
Mage Feather can see the eagerness of the students and her eyes instinctively landed on Rezen and she internally sighed. That bastard was lucky but she was not
While Rezen will be given an array of advantages while inside the academy, Mage Feather on the other hand will continue to have her reputation suffer as long as Rezen is still under her
She really is uncomfortable being in Rezen's presence and he instinctively tried to finish today's job as soon as possible. She originally still have a longer speech but she just waved her magic wand
In front of the students, glowing red boxes appeared and they stared at them curiously
"The admission reward that you will receive is up to luck. Don't forget that luck is also important if a mage wants to grow. With enough luck even those that don't have the talent for cultivation might be able to reach the exalted Great Mage Rank" she said and once more the students instinctively looked at Rezen
Luck... is the reward really based on luck?
The academy already helped Rezen cheat, who can say that they would also not purposely give him the best reward possible
Mage Feather can sense the thoughts inside the students' minds and he can only sigh. They are not wrong!
She already knows that the Headmaster has always been mischievous and unpredictable but this time her actions were still too much and it puts Mage Feather to shame
