Chapter 228 228. The Bald Man.
A huge bow made out of red flames materialized in front of Kevin, with two flame arrows as well.
Kevin grabbed the two arrows and placed them in the flame strings of the bow.
He released his grip and both flames crushed the crystals of the golems into smithereens.
The door opens and Kevin dashed forward with the thoughts of seeing Ares in his mind.
Upon entering, he found himself in a large empty hall with four silhouette at the far end of the hall.
He moved closer to the silhouette and he could see someone genuflecting in front of another silhouette while two other silhouette stood close to each other.
"You imbecile!!! I sent you back to the world of the living and this is how you repay me? I always thought I had one useless son, I never knew I had two!!" Ares uttered out in rage.
"Haha..... Interesting, so the prince not only defeated Phobos but he also defeated Deimos as well. Wonderful!!! I can't wait to fight him!!!..... Hahaha," A bald man cackled as he stood behind Ares with his arms folded while watching Ares scold his son.
"Shut up!!! You're the last person I want to hear from," Ares retorted but this only made the bald head man to guffaw even louder.
"It was one thing for the prince to take down Phobos but I never thought Deimos would be defeated so easily,"
When Kevin got appropriately close enough to see their faces, he could now see the faces of the voices the silhouette belonged to.
Deimos was the one who genuflected before his father while Ares scolded him.
The bald head man was the one behind Ares with Phobos standing right beside the bald head man.
"Forgive me father. Give me another chance and I promise to not fail you," Deimos pleaded to be sent back to the world of the living.
"You've already failed me. Just give up and accept you've been bested by the prince," Ares uttered out disappointingly and hearing that, Deimos gritted his teeth in ire.
Kevin's footsteps approaching towards them became louder and everyone turned to their right and noticed Kevin walking towards them.
"Speak of the devil," Ares uttered out.
"And he shall appear...haha!!"The bald head man added, laughing aloud which echoed throughout the hall.
"Ares, I believe you know why I am here," Kevin questioned and Ares let out a long exhausted sigh.
"Yes I do, but...." Ares replied but the bald head man cut him off mid-sentence.
"How about we do this. You fight me, right here and now and if I acknowledge your strength then Ares close the portal releasing the demons. What do you say about that?"
"What?! Why would you think I would agree to such a deal?" Are uttered out in rage.
"You have no choice. You have to agree," The bald man glared at Ares.
A cold sweat slid down the side of Ares face and he cleared his throat.
"Very well. I agree,"
A smile bloomed on the bald man face and he turned towards Kevin. "Splendid. Now, Kevin, what do you say?"
"Let's get this over with,"
"Agreed,"
Kevin and the bald man gave each other a lot of space in between as they prepared themselves for the battle.
Although Kevin was at a height of at least 1.9m but looking closely at the bald man, he was a lot taller than him.
His upper body had no clothes in them while he wore a pair of black trousers underneath.
His height had to be at least 2.5m tall and he had a hulk like build with a huge brown beard reaching towards his shoulder length.
This was the first time Kevin had seen someone had so many muscles in one body.
Even though Kevin works out a lot, he couldn't help but admire the toned abs of the bald man which even though he might look a bit above fifty, his body still looked like one who was still in his mid-twenties.
They each took a battle stance and prepared themselves for battle but the bald man recalled something.
"Oh, I almost forgot. If you die here, there's no way you'll be able to return to the mortal world,"
"What?!!" Kevin exclaimed but before he could completely understand what the bald man meant by what he said, the bald man suddenly appeared in front of Kevin with a fist just inches from reaching his face.
Kevin leaped three steps back.to avoid getting hit in the face but.....
It didn't turn out the way he wanted.
At first, his intention was to leap three steps back but one of his arm was caught by the bald man and Kevin found himself being flipped over until his back slammed against the floor, leaving a huge crack on the floor.
Just that attack alone almost made Kevin to fall unconscious but was able to be alert enough to see a huge fist slamming towards his face.
He rolled to his right to evade the attack before quickly rising to his feet.
Once again, the bald man appeared in front of him, releasing a series of punches towards Kevin.
Kevin could barely keep up with him but he did everything he could to make sure he did.
After exchanging a few blows, it was evident to see the bald man was a lot faster than his age and his strength clearly shouldn't be underestimated as well.
They both landed a final punch on each other's fist before leaping three steps back.
Kevin inhaled a huge chunk of air before exhaling deeply.
Of all the opponents he's been up against, there was no doubt this bald man was the strongest one of them all and right now the fate of the world rests on his shoulder.
At least, what's left of it.
Kevin activated his god mode and his skin hardened and turned golden. Even his brown hair turned golden as well and his sapphire blue eyes deepened into a dark blue hue.
Now he was like a walking golden statue.
"Now, that is what I want to see. Since you're willing to take this battle seriously, now it's my turn to not hold back,"
