Chapter 205 205. Invitation.
Kevin agreed and informed Director Han that he would definitely start his own business soon while leaving out the fact that he had already opened a business account for his company.
Kevin glanced at the name of the caller displayed on his phone's screen and it was the banker.
"Hello, good morning, bank manager, it's a surprise to see you call so early in the morning. I hope that there's nothing wrong with my account?"
"Good morning Mr Kevin. Oh no, nothing is wrong with your account, but you have a visitor who is currently waiting for you here at the bank."
"What?! Don't tell me you broke your promise and ran your big mouth?"
On the other side of the phone, the bank manager stood in shock. He turned to the man in front of him and laughed awkwardly. The phone was on speaker so Kevin's voice could be heard by the other man as well.
"I'm sorry, Mr Kevin, the man here works for a company that's in cooperation with director Han and he would like to meet with you."
Kevin sighed after hearing what the bank manager said. He couldn't believe that he had to leave his home very early in the morning.
"Alright, I understand. Please tell him that I'll be there shortly."
The bank manager acknowledged his words and cut the phone.
A few hours later, the bank manager stood up once he saw Kevin walking into his office and Kevin shook his hand.
He had a nervous smile on his face as he directed Kevin towards the man sitting on the couch in front of them.
Kevin turned to the man and the man stood up to shake his hand.
"Good morning, I'm Mr Jackson, the vice president of Dynamo Bottling Company. It's a pleasure to finally meet you, Mr Kevin."
Kevin's eyes widened in surprise and a smile appeared on his lips. His grip tightened as he responded in a confident tone. "It's nice to meet you too."
The vice president smiled and turned to the bank manager before nodding and leaving the two of them in the room to talk alone.
The bank manager knew how serious business was in the corporate world and he didn't mind stepping out of his office for his biggest clients to use it.
Once the manager closed the door, Mr Jackson turned to Kevin and asked him to take a seat.
They both sat down and Mr Jackson proceeded to inform Kevin of the reason why he was asked to meet him here in the bank.
"As I said a few minutes ago. I'm from Dynamo Bottling Company, a subsidiary company of Baratheon Limited. We've been established for nearly a decade now and we've made waves in the business industry."
"I'm pretty sure you've heard of our products which are not only sold across the city but also all four cities,"
Kevin nodded slowly to his words while waiting patiently for him to arrive at the reason why he came to the bank in the first place.
"I guess you are wondering why you were called here," The vice-president stated, noticing the disinterested look on Kevin's face while listening to the achievements Dynamo Bottling Company had made.
"I apologize for summoning you on such short notice but as the bank manager informed you a while ago, our company is in cooperation with the trading company you carry out your investments with."
Kevin nodded in understanding at his words and this made the vice president nod as well before moving on from where he stopped.
"It was Director Han himself who gave your name to us a week ago and we've been following your growth ever since."
"We do not involve ourselves in situations like this but your achievements in recent weeks have made us interested in knowing more about you."
"For a young man around the age of twenty to involve himself in stock trading is very rare, especially when considering the situation the economy finds itself in right now, with most institutions shutting down to prevent more kidnappings and the killing of students by both awakened individuals and cannibals."
"And with this at the back of our minds, we understood why you would like to try your luck in stock trading while being in the comfort of your home."
"In fact, a bunch of youths around the same age group as yours decided to try something similar to what you did and while many gave up very early, a few people discovered just how ruthless the world could really be and decided to persevere to the very end."
"But you, Mr Kevin, seem to be an exception. A gem no one could have believed would exist in our current world. No one had ever made $65 million within a month before."
"Not even veterans have been able to accomplish such a feat, but you've accomplished the impossible at such a young age and since you've opened a business account already, it's only expected for me to give you this."
Hearing the words the vice president uttered, Kevin acted surprised at the fact that the vice president already knew about his company which was recently created and had yet to be revealed to the general public.
He knew the bank manager wasn't to be blamed for the leaked information since Director Han already mentioned his name to the vice president.
It was only expected for the vice president to use his influence to dig up a few things about Kevin.
Since Kevin suddenly became one of the biggest players overnight, allowing him to amass enough wealth to drown the city in money, there was no way the vice president wouldn't do a little digging of his own to find out what he could about Kevin.
The vice president brought out an invitation and offered it to Kevin.
"It's an invitation to an auction that will be coming up in three days. The address has been included in the invitation and you also need to note that the auction will be in the form of a masquerade gala."
