Chapter 174 174. Hello Stepmother.
Hearing her question, a smile crept up on Sasha's face and she knew that she couldn't keep up the act any longer.
"It seems I've been discovered," Sasha chuckled and Vanessa's eyes widened at the sound of the voice.
It wasn't a female's voice but instead a male's voice. Furthermore, the voice sounded similar to someone she knew.
Sasha removed the mask from her face and Kevin's face appeared before her.
"K-Kevin?" Vanessa stuttered in disbelief.
"Hello, stepmother," Kevin grinned widely and Vanessa's eyes widened at the fact that it was really Kevin.
'B-but how?'
Vanessa was certain that she had left the house while Kevin had been busy humping Dahlia in his room.
'I am certain that he was in his room when I left the house earlier. Then how did he get here so fast?'
'Aside from that, how did his appearance change into that of Sasha's?'
'And what is his relationship with the masked man behind him?'
Vanessa had a ton of things she was confused about. But Kevin noticed the puzzled look on her face and he decided to shed a little light on what had happened so far.
He pointed towards the masked individual behind him and Vanessa watched as the masked man who she had thought tortured Sasha slowly turned into dust before his figure completely vanished before her eyes.
The masked man was never real in the first place. Kevin had been acting as Sasha while the masked man had simply been a figure he had created in his mind to act exactly the way he wanted him to.
All of these were possible because Vanessa was within the range of Kevin's cubic fabricated reality skill.
This was also why Sasha had seemed a lot stronger than the average human and why she was able to inflict significant damage on Vanessa.
"You mean Sasha was never tortured to begin with?" Vanessa inquired, still trying to comprehend what she just heard.
Kevin nodded to her question and added. "It has always been me and you here alone in the building. Sasha was never here, to begin with."
"The same goes for the videos you watched as well, none of what you saw in the video really happened."
"But you were in your room when I received the mail and the call. How did you send me the mail and call me at the same time while you were preoccupied in your room?"
Vanessa could vividly recall that she heard Dahlia moaning in Kevin's room while she had been watching the videos sent to her mail and before she received his call.
But what she didn't know was that Kevin had never really been humping Dahlia in his room.
It was just a scene that he created so that Vanessa would not return to her room.
The purpose of the mail and making her run several miles to save her sister was to see her in a state of desperation and turmoil. It was Kevin's first step in his revenge towards her.
Vanessa didn't miss the subtle message Kevin was trying to let her know as well.
With everything he had done now, Kevin was clearly letting her know that he knew everything about her.
Apart from the fact that she was an awakened, and the fact that Sasha was her sister, who knew what else he knew about her?
And that begged the question. Why was he doing all this?
"But why are you doing all this?"
"What do you possibly wish to gain from all this?"
"What have I ever done to you to deserve such a treatment?"
Hearing her last sentence, Kevin's face contorted into a frown and a murderous aura enshrouded him which surprised even Vanessa.
"You're wondering what you did to me?"
She could already guess why he was doing all these things, especially with the amount of anger she could hear in his voice, but Vanessa didn't want to jump to conclusions without hearing him out first.
"So, you're saying that you do not know what you did to me?!!"
Vanessa's heart began to beat faster as she noticed Kevin leaning a little closer to her. His eyes were slowly turning crimson.
'He actually looks like he's about to commit murder.'
Sasha instinctively moved backwards as Kevin slammed his hands into the wall on both sides of her head, causing a crack to form on the wall as he added.
"If you really do not know, then maybe, this will jog your memory?"
Vanessa who had her eyes closed while fearing the worst, suddenly opened her eyes to find out what he was talking about. And to her surprise, a screen appeared before her, displaying the event that occurred on the night of the o.r.g.y where she, Dahlia, Brian Stark and Drake were present.
"Y-you…?" She stuttered.
"H-how did you get this?" Vanessa's eyes widened in surprise. She had never expected this video to find its way towards Kevin. But now that she knew that it had, she wanted to know how it got into his hands, but Kevin wasn't in the mood to answer her question.
"Good. It seems you recall what happened that night."
"This also means that you can answer the questions I have for you."
"Aside from Christopher Mormon, who else was standing behind the camera that night?"
Vanessa was stunned to find out that Kevin already knew that Christopher Mormon was part of the people present on that night.
Did this mean that he already knew everyone else present that night and was now interested in finding out who the last person in the video was?
Vanessa mulled over this thought, but her mind was brought back to reality by Kevin's next question.
"Was he the one who instigated the plan for you to seduce my Dad?"
"...." Vanessa was reluctant to give him a response and this only irked Kevin even more, causing him to suddenly blurt out with rage.
"Answer me!!!"
"I don't know!!! …I can't say," Vanessa muttered the last part of her sentence, as she tried to avoid making eye contact with Kevin.
