Chapter 140 140. A New Underground King.
Kevin and his men arrived at the rendezvous point where the meeting was supposed to be held. The location was an abandoned warehouse and all the gang bosses were seated and staring at each other while wondering why the one seated in front of them was The Boogeyman and not The King himself.
There was a huge table at the center which separated the bosses who were seated on one side from Kevin who was sitting alone on the opposite side with hundreds of his men standing behind him.
The room was silent for a while but one of the gang bosses couldn't deal with the suspense anymore and so broke the silence with a question.
The moment he did this, the rest followed as well.
"What is the meaning of this?"
"Why were we summoned here?"
"Yeah!! And where is the King?"
"That's right. Will someone give us an explanation as to why the Boogeyman is seated in front of us instead of the king?"
It was Wolfgang who invited them here for the meeting. He used Kevin's face mask to look like someone very close to Brian Stark in order to invite them here.
So when they arrived, they were expecting to meet the king. But instead, it was the Boogeyman that was seated in front of them.
Kevin noticed how confused they were, so he turned to the side and nodded his head.
One of his lackeys walked forward to give all ten bosses a brown envelope.
"What is this?"
"Why are you giving this to us?"
"Just open it," Wolfgang instructed and all the bosses exchanged suspicious looks before slowly tearing off the edge of the envelope to see what was inside it.
And to their surprise, the envelope contained photos of their wives, children, lovers and even their pets.
"What?!"
"How did you....?!!
"How dare you!!" Each of them stood up in indignation and aimed their guns at Kevin
But as they did this, the hundreds of men standing behind Kevin raised their guns as well and aimed them at them in return.
Since they were used to how things were done in the underground world, the gang bosses knew that if anyone did something like this, it meant that the opponent had thoroughly studied and spied on them well enough to do such a thing.
And this meant that their families had either been kidnapped or were currently being watched.
Either way, it was bad news for the bosses.
And they weren't going to go down without a fight.
If they pulled the trigger right now, they knew they would most likely be killed by the men standing behind the Boogeyman and to make matters worse, they had no guards with them, unlike Kevin.
Whenever a meeting was being held with the King, there was usually no need to come along with a guard, because the King always liked to keep his meetings private and away from prying ears.
This was because whatever was being discussed shouldn't and mustn't be discussed with any outsider.
Kevin slowly moved his gaze around each of the bosses before speaking.
"Before you pull the trigger, I would suggest you take a good look at yourselves first," He warned and each of the bosses took a moment to look at their bodies and noticed several red dots aimed towards them from different angles.
There were several red dots on their back as well which means that if they pulled the trigger right now, they would be shot in pretty much every part of their bodies by snipers before they could even confirm if Kevin was dead from their own gunshot.
The gang bosses quietly took their seats and once Kevin was satisfied with their obedience he nodded towards Wolfgang.
Wolfgang then placed the sack he was holding on the table.
He opened it and the gang boss' eyes dilated with fear and shock at what they were seeing before them.
Was this not the head of Brian Stark, the king of the underground?
What the h.e.l.l is his head doing here then?
And how the h.e.l.l did they take him down?
Each of the gang bosses turned towards Kevin in dread.
They recalled what the announcer had been yelling about when he announced the Boogeyman's ludicrous dream of wanting to usurp the current King of the Underground.
At first, it had seemed like a tall tale, then like the goal of a fool who didn't know what he was talking about.
But now, with what they were seeing, it was difficult to believe that the young man standing before them was a fool whose dream could never be made a reality.
After witnessing him face nine NILs on his own without any weapon but his bare hands.
They had acknowledged how physically strong and talented he was.
A few of them now understand why he dreamed of being the next king of the underground because even Brian Stark had fought against fifteen NILs on his own in the cage with his bare hands, so they could see the similarity.
But now, The Boogeyman had clearly taken the title of KING OF THE UNDERGROUND.
Now that Kevin had shown the gang bosses how important this meeting was to him and everyone present, he ordered the gang bosses to take a seat.
"Sit."
Every one of them nodded their heads like a good little boy and slowly placed their guns on the table before sitting and listening to what the new King of the Underground had to say.
Since he was going to become the new ruler, he needed to make some things clear and some changes would have to be made.
And the first thing on his list was that every single gram of Mistletoe would have to be confiscated and destroyed.
Also, no one in the underground world aside from everyone who was currently in the warehouse was to speak about the death of Brian Stark.
This was because Brian Stark still had business partners outside the city, and the less they knew of his death, the better it was for everyone involved, especially Kevin who couldn't afford for his plans to be ruined.
